  1. Actually we make no mention of Hero vs. Stunt handplates on the CRLs. We do use the second version for hero, but that's more to show variety than a specification.
  2. Ahhh...that's when the CRL's were thought of a *requirements* lists. The new old new version is that they are visual references, meant to be but one tool of the GML's toolbox in evaluting costumes, and also serving as a visual guide for new members in terms of educating them of the costume parts, etc. And once *that* clarification was made, all opposition to the CRL's became naught but a whisper... And again - kudos to the FISD Imperial Propaganda Machine for doing such a great job. Only SLD is even close to FISD in terms of quality/completion, and we're in their debt.
  3. ?? How do you mean ??
  4. Good catch! I sent the update to Mark Haskell. Also, the updated T-21 pictures directly to Thomas on the HWT.
  5. Check it guys!! http://501st.com/crl/ There are still some tweaks that will be made, but it's pretty exciting that FIVE out of SEVEN FISD CRL's are live. The Incinerator Trooper is in process and the IPM team is working to have it completed by end of month. We still need a good Stormtrooper Commander model for the CRL - volunteers?
  6. A month later and still 12 to go. Lord Vader is on his way to personally oversee the last quarter of the year to ensure we hit out goals. :vader1: C'mon troops! Victory can be ours, and I still have a dozen gold challenge coins to boot!
  7. Rather than start from scratch you could make a really good ROTJ trooper with this armor. That would be my recommendation - less work & less cost than starting anew.
  8. Yes! It was Skywalker's fault. Love it
  9. Tom - if you already have the kit you realy have two options: sell it and get something else or else be prepared to put some time, sweat, and a little money in to making it 501st acceptable. It can be done and has been done by two people that I've seen, but you'll need to replace several key parts. Not for the faint of heart, but achievable
  10. Yup. I saw it the same way and hope it encourages people to consider how silly either extreme is.
  11. Appending with your latest design, as we reference this thread from the Academy.
  12. If you follow the line on the kit the cut will be too high and hidden behind the belt. With FX all you can really do is do a best effort to make it look like Pablo (below). This will really depend on your shape. I'd suggest getting kitted up (I mean, not the legs/arms, but the torso) and standing sideways in front of a mirror. Then, have your wife/gf/garrison mate (as is available) place a line of tape where the cut should be. This way you can "preview" it with the armor on before making the physical cut. Make sense? FWIW, for me at least getting the kidney/butt to look right was the hardest part of doing the strapping, and a no-butt guy like me had to resort to using strategically placed foam to get it to sit correctly.
  13. Excellent job. I love the idea of having everything self-contained in the helmet, but this this gives me reason to re-think my ideas...
  14. Actually I think you did an excellent job Allan. Actually the split of the butt should be visible below the belt.
  15. Well, you could always ask the LMO to over-ride their decision. I mean, we've provided quite a few references with an E-11 no less. I mean - it's a VIDEO GAME and you can grab whatever weapon you want. :-p
  16. Lord Vader has just captured a little corvette and needs some door busting done. Head on down to the flight deck and give him a hand in securing our latest catch. Supposedly a "diplomatic" vessell, but keep your wits bout you as they may be armed.
  17. Well, every garrison is different. I know in ours unless it's a canon event we can troop in unapproved costumes (e.g. like trooping a book store or comic store). It's a great way for people to get the kinks out of their kits and as long as they are pretty close no one sweats it. Then again, we also aren't as anal about helmets on either (e.g. do your best effort but not if you're about to pass out or taking a lunch break), so take it FWIW.
  18. Here is one with an E-11
  19. Looks good to me Joseph - Terrell should be online soon
  20. As I said several times, this is really an issue of who sets standards, and in this case Thomas (LMO) is stating that he trumps the GMLs. It will be interesting to see how this plays out at the Legion level - it's the first time I've seen a GML being told he was too picky rather than not picky enough.
  21. SpecOps also had a HWT reference with an E-11. Let's see if we can dig that up, perhaps?
  22. The decision actually has already been made by the LMO, but needs to be implemented by the Legion web team. So, the people you want to talk to or have your GML talk to starts with the Legion Webmaster.
  23. That's an issue for the LMO. Both the TKC & ICN should be listed as TK, not TX.
  24. Schwing! Great job Mason and great purchase Steve! You guys are going to really give the TKC's a run for it
