WhiteHammer's RT-Mod ESB TK (WIP)
Dark CMF replied to WhiteHammer's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
You hit the high points. The shoulders need to come forward for sure though. How are they attached? You mentioned something being sewn, and they should be just snapped to the shoulder bridge strap. The thighs look a little large at the knees, too. Basically, outside of that, I'd say that you're not ready to test fit yet, as clearly the ab/kidney are sliding down, which is exaggerating the low fit of your back plate as well. Once you've got your torso strapped together, you can get a better fit accomplished. We all do this taped together test fit though. You're not alone by any means. EDIT: Forgot to mention that the thigh ammo pack looks good in the picture and that if you've glued the Sniper Plate on, you did a good job with it. Very nice alignment, and those things give some folks nightmares! -
Awesome find. I'll be looking for your follow-up/post troop report! I've grown tired of the wire running from my bucket to my chest plate.

Not silly at all, Christina. I have a Rom/FX without the MP3 player. Of course, just last week, I had an amplifier, speaker, and MP3 player delivered so I could add the TK loop to my armor. It's not a bad idea to get it if you think you'll be inclined to use it at some time.

If you're asking how they are made, you can find the backgrounds in the Trading Cards post in the Legion Only section of the Forums. From there, find one you like. Save it on your computer. Find a picture of your armor that you like. Cut yourself out of it in photoshop or whatever. Paste yourself onto the background that you saved. Put your chosen words on it, and save it. Upload to photobucket, and link like usual.

Echo fans in mine as well. Also, Tony's fans are indeed not conventional.

storage and transport bin for one piece torso?
Dark CMF replied to LaserBrain99's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I use a very similar Husky box, and it holds everything but the bucket. There is a 35" Husky box (I'm pretty sure that's the size) that is half as tall, and looks like it might hold everything as well. I'm looking into that one because the large one won't fit in my car, and I'm going to have to ship it to myself for Star Wars Weekend in May. -
SDS Battle Spec Armour
Dark CMF replied to tomnewdelhi's topic in FISD Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) Requirements
Paul, have a look at the EIB request threads. There are a few SDS EIBs out there off the top of my head. Once you've found their EIB thread, see if they've got a build thread you can look at. I'm comfortable saying that I think you'll be just fine based on the materials used. Most kits (to include my own) are shiny ABS. -

Looking good, Mike!! Belt corners look to be spot on. For Centurion pass able rivets, you can check out the For Sale section. The thread should be titled Centurion Approvable Rivets, or something along those lines. Echo sells them - the same guy that sells the fans. The rivet on the Cod is the same as the rivets on the Ab and Kidney side attachment. I hope the tape on the inside works out cleanly for you, not a bad idea!! It looks like you've got a good grasp on the ABS Paste though. I'd give it 24 hours to set before sanding it. -

No problem, Mike, and thanks! Where the rivets are located on that older armor was based on the curve of the one piece Cod. You can see that curve coming up just beneath the bottom rivet. The RT-Mod kit has neither the ridge, or the one piece cod, so I spaced mine equally based on the height of the notch. -
Hovi tips controller and amp/ static

Okay, that's what I'd been presuming, but since you do electronics modification, I wanted to be sure. . Thanks. -
Hovi tips controller and amp/ static
Dark CMF replied to Tcsjc's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Tony, do you run your Rom/FX through an amp to your Hovis, or is yours direct off of the board's amp? -
Thank you Art, you nailed it. Outside of technique - namely,,sanding in one direction, and polishing in the other - it is a serious application of elbow grease. Bone, I ordered my Novus Polish system via Amazon Smile: www.smile.amazon.com you have to get the three part system to repair scratches, and sanding damage.

Be safe Morten... I don't believe that I'm going to have any more "exciting" places to visit during this, the twilight of my career. LoL

Also, I just saw your second picture. You're going to want to line those up at the tops, to match the rivet hole locations, because that is how it will be worn. Unfortunately, you're going to have to become quite comfortable with ABS paste early on in your Stormtrooper career, but on the bright side, you're going to become quite comfortable with ABS paste early on in your Stormtrooper career. It sounds much scarier than it is, and it is a tremendous "tool" to have in your pocket when working with the armor. For your youtube searches, look up both ABS paste, and ABS slurry. That will probably help you to find a good video to use. I updated my build thread with those pictures already, so you can have a look at the mess that I was dealing with just a few weeks ago myself for inspiration as I had never used it prior to then either. -

I actually don't know that you'll need to move the bottom one, looking at this picture, but I'd recommend that you do. I would move it down however, not up. The CRL says that the rivets should be "evenly spaced." So what you want to do is measure from the top of the kidney plate to the top of the notch to find the center hole location. Beyond that, the other two should be evenly spread out. So come down about 10MM to a 1/2" or so from the top, and the same measurement up from the notch. As for the rivet being right above the repair... Not an issue. It will be as strong as "new" ABS. What will be a potential issue for you is that you're going to have to potentially sand and polish those spots to match the finish. What I'd recommend is to use painters tape to cover the "outsides" of the holes, and fill it from inside the armor, so that you have a smoother, cleaner finish on the outside, and any sanding/smoothing that needs to be done will be on the inside where nobody will see it except for you. If you look at the notch/rivet area on my Centurion thread, you'll see that they're evenly spaced as I described, and you MIGHT be able to find the "repair" spots in my armor from the old rivet holes. I can find them because I know exactly where they are. LoL Anyway, I'm now a 15P, Aviation Operations NCO. I spent my "working" career as a 15Q - Air Traffic Controller, but was promoted out of the MOS a few years back now. -

You probably shouldn't have told me that. LoL. I'm a pro when it comes to roughing up Soldiers. -
Just pointing out that he said he thinks they're discontinuing. I'm fairly certain that MS has promised at least five years of 360 support, but that doesn't mean developers will, and means less for Sony. Sent from my Prism II using Tapatalk 2

I remember the radio commercial that was played for it fairly well... I believe it claimed it was a story "about a boy, a girl, and a universe." LoL OMG!!! They're up on the internet! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2dz4f5_original-star-wars-radio-spots-star-wars-commercials_fun EDIT: Of course, the one that I remember isn't in that mix. LoL But this one touches on the creepy aspect of it all: https://youtu.be/5z1SziDPKQw EDIT2: Here's the one that I remember - the TV spot no less (audio is very faint): https://youtu.be/i-vsILeJ8_8
