  1. Redone with decoration removed - again, thanks to Tom's handiwork
  2. 100% agree with Pablo. AP is derived from a cast made off of a screen-used ROTJ suit. TM is a fan-sculpt specifically built with ANH in mind.
  3. Here are the shots I currently have from the left and front, the pauldron will need to be photoshop'd to take out the decorations.
  4. Using the magic of Photoshop (thanks, Tom!) here are my new (well, not really) and improved HWT CRL submission pics: White pauldron: Orange pauldron: Orange pauldron w watermark: EIB-quality pictures coming in a few weeks.
  5. Oh yeah! Great job! I'm so looking forward to starting my own AM build.
  6. What material is your belt made out of? Also, it looks like your holster is a hybrid of ANH (left-mounted) and ESB (looped over the belt). Is that OK, or do you have to go with one or the other? Overall, looks real sharp!
  7. Congratulations Tom, and like the boss said - well deserved.
  8. Wow. Just wow. Looking forward to seeing that star & wreath above your EIB badge.
  9. I love it! Thanks Tom! This will actually be Round 4 of the 2009/2010 winter season - if I cared enough to keep track. I don't know where we're going to put all the snow, the temps have been too cold lately for the stuff to melt away. <_<
  10. So, most of you have probably heard the news about the major snowstorm to hit the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. this weekend, and how the Washington D.C. area got pounded especially hard. It snowed for almost 36 hours straight. Most areas got well over 2 feet of accumulation, and according to the latest forecast there's more on the way later this week. So how do you deal with it when life dumps a load of snow on you? Here's what a couple of snow-bound stormtroopers do: Myself and TK-2618 (Debater2nd) Not an official troop, but fun nonetheless.
  11. Yeah, if you can get your money back that's the best way. If not, Rubies can be made 501st-acceptable with a TON of work. There are a couple of threads here showing how it's done. If you do decide to start over the best way is to start reading the threads, starting here in the Basic Training section. With time, you'll understand what your needs are and how to get properly equipped. So how about an introduction over in the New Member Introductions section?
  12. "The hills are alive, with the sound of MUUUUSIC!" Sorry, that's pretty much all I got. Well, that and World War II.
  13. Congratulations, trooper!
  14. Welcome to the FISD, Alex. You'll find tons of useful information and members that are more than willing to help you get started. However, there are a few things you need to be aware of: 1. The best way to get started here is to follow Tom's (RogueTrooper) advice - head on over to New Member Introductions and tell us a bit about yourself and your interests in Stormtroopers. 2. The next step is to start digging into the threads. Read, read, read. Just about any question you can think of has already been answered many times over. Start here in the BasicGetting Started section: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/ 3. Wanted to Buy armor threads are expressly forbidden on this forum Again, welcome.
  15. Stay away from the FX bucket. Period.
  16. Sweeeeeet. What boots did you use?
  17. MAJOR snowstorm starting up here in the Washington D.C. area. Expecting blizzard conditions and over 2 feet of accumulation. Third time in eight weeks, and the second time this week. Somebody . . . anybody . . . MAKE IT STOP!!! Soooooo sick of winter.
  18. 6'2" and 150 lbs - pretty skinny dude, eh? I'd go for either TM or one of the TE-derived kits (TE, TE2, AP, ATA). With FX, AM, and/or RT Mod you might find yourself swimming in it.
  19. The calves on AM should be as long as it's FX predecessor, and no longer/shorter than the screen-derived kits. At 6'2", Robert is a pretty tall guy. The problem taller troopers typically have is that we tend to have a lot of black undersuit showing, particularly at the knees and hips. One way to minimize the amount of undersuit showing at the knees is to wear the calves so they sit on top of the boot. The "normal" position for the calf armor has it sitting lower on the boot, about to the ankle.
  20. It also depends on your physique. As ATA is derived from screen-used armor, it's meant for smaller builds. AM is a fan-sculpt, but one designed to accomodate larger troopers. Having said that, any armor can be made to fit any physique, it's a matter of how much shimming and/or trimming you want to do.
  21. Good kit - great vendor!
  22. And one more in anticipation of the next 1,000:
  23. If the photo I posted is Photoshopped (which I neither have the tools or skill to do) to remove the pauldron decorations, can it be used for the CRL? It looks like a garrison-mate of mine will be able to provide a pauldron and MP40 pouch, so I should have the EIB-quality photo done by the end of the month. We'll have a green screen set up at -------- so it should make for a nice quality photo. Can you provide measurements for the ammo feeder cover? Also, if you know a source for the grip disc, then I'd be all set.
  24. The best advise is the most commonly issued advise - Study the build threads & other credible references, take your time, measure twice/cut once, tape & test-fit before gluing, etc. All tried and true.
