  1. Any armor can be made to fit any physique with enough work, but some kits definitely lend themselves to certain body types. For the larger trooper, AM and RT Mod are considered to be the safest choices. There's a thread around here that actually does a decent job doing a side-by-side comparison of the two.
  2. Looks really good - great job!
  3. Terry, I believe by "eFX" he means the newest incarnation of the MRCE. The eFX (MRCE) is not a bad lid, although it does need a.bit of modification. It's commonly used as an upgrade from the FX helmet, but as Terry said there are even better helmet choices available. As for the paint mismatch - I wouldn't worry about it so much, as the same was seen on-screen.
  4. Happy Birthday Dan!
  5. Moved thread to the appropriate section.
  6. Congrats, and welcome.
  7. Well done, Julie, and welcome to the ranks.
  8. If the way your thighs are fitted interferes with your movement and/or can be made to fit better by taking them in, then do so. However, I wouldn't worry about scuffing, as (1) it adds character to the armor, (2) no one is going to see your inner thighs, and (3) if you can't stand the thought of the scuffs being there then they are easy to remove with a bit of Novus and elbow grease.
  9. I've bought a set from each of them. Ther is no difference in what you get in the box.
  10. Holy crap - that looks great!
  11. Also need to get your status updated so that you have full access to the boards. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=16&st=1280
  12. Please do so, Tanner. What you're describing is abnormal at best, and potentially a real health issue that if unchecked can have long-term ramifications.
  13. Nice job, especially given that AM was designed for guys much larger than yourself. How about bringing up the drop boxes an inch or so, and clipping the corners on the belt? And needless to say - definitely get a different helmet. I'd be suprised if you could even move your head in that thing.
  14. As far as length goes, AM is about as big as it gets. The length doesn't look so bad in the photo, but I'd like to see a photo of how your shin armor looks when pulled down over your boot.
  15. Thread unlocked - let's avoid having to do this again, gentlemen.
  16. Wow - great job!
  17. Your requirements would lead me to choose either AP or T/MC.
  18. Looks good, but aren't there supposed to be a pair of wires going from the counter to the cylinders?
  19. What Ryan said exactly. Between TK and TD/HWT I much prefer TK. The big accessories certainly are cool-looking, but after a while they become very cumbersome. As an example, the last time I donned my HWT stuff I lasted about two increasingly uncomfortable hours before I HAD to get it off and just be a regular TK. Once it was off - I felt light and nimble enough to do backflips in my armor.
  20. Ditto. I tried going into Control Panel --> Display --> Settings and adjusting the resolution, but 1024x576 is the max it will allow.
  21. I agree that screen resolution could be the problem. Unfortunately I can't increase the resolution any further on one of my machines, as it's an HP Mini. On my large "entertainment" laptop with a much higher screen resolution, I get the "View New Content" link just fine. And I agree with Steve - I definitely miss having a working "Today's Active Content" link.
  22. Agreed. The goal is to have the drop box outer edge aligned with the outer edge of the plastic utility belt.
  23. It's still there, but moved. It's just to the left of the RSS button. Problem is, the text color is white - making it virtually invisible against the FISD background skin. However, if you start from the RSS button and mouse over in a straignt line heading left, you'll see it - barely. When the mouse is right over it, the text color changes to gray - which is only slightly more visible than the white text color. FWIW, I'm using IE8 as my browser.
  24. The ab should sit on top of the cod, as if they were a single piece. Unless you intentionally cut the cod for the sake of flexibility and/or ease of going #1 (which some troopers do), the two should actually be a single piece.
  25. Looks good - but aren't you missing the shoulder pouch?
