  6. The 501st Legion's Empire City Garrison Fireteam Liberty troopers attended Subway’s 49th birthday bash along with the Boys and Girls club of Bridgeport Connecticut on Thursday August 28th, 2014. The event was held at the Subway restaurant on West 35th street NY, NY. This was an LFL event that needed specifically TKs only. We arrived between 10-11am. The Subway rep gave us a quick run through of our role in the events for the party. We then went upstairs to suit up in the changing room that was provided. Subway’s celebrity rep Jared came upstairs and greeted us before the events begin. Children from the boys and girls club of Bridgeport Connecticut were the “attendees†of the Subway birthday bash. The children arrived and were seated in the dining area of the restaurant. Then, the imperial march was played over the loud speaker in the store and that was our cue to head into the dining room. The kids were stunned as were the customers. For the next hour, Jared and subway physical trainer proceeded to teach the kids the importance of good eating and daily exercise to keep fit and healthy. The trainer played some games with the children that involved physical exercise that we also took part in. after the exercise the children were given Star Wars gift bags with a sandwich and some other goodies to take home. We then did a whole lot of photo ops with the children, subway employees, and Jared. We took photos inside the restaurant and outside on the streets of NY as well. Jared and the rest of the Subway staff/reps were very hospitable towards us. We were all provided meals after we suited down. Overall it was a great event that lasted approximately 2-2 ½ hours. Special thanks to Greg Lee and Walter Hillegas for stopping by and taking lots of photos. Empire City Garrison Fireteam Liberty troopers that took part in the event were: Bob De simone TK-4703 Steve Ievolino TK-3295 Jonathan Diaz TK-16890 Anthony Paladino TK-10666 Dan King TK-6795 Ray Eng TK-4452 This event is being covered and popping up by and on websites all over the place. What a great event it was for the legion.
