  1. He means the helmet and armor idea is to be an environmentally sealed unit. The helmet is supposed to be able to draw air, filter/clean it like a gas mask, and the whole armor/helmet combo to act as a type of hazmat suit for all environments.
  2. He enjoys mostly having a conversation with himself, so lets leave him to it.
  3. Ok... Whats left: Glue in the 3 straps/hooks on the calfs, paint the hand guards, attach hand guards to gloves. Box it and ship it. Bomb dump of photos. The cap rivets on the thigh were painted after the photo.
  4. Count me in for the first run discount
  5. Color doesn't matter unless you are going for screen accurate interior.
  6. I wasn't referencing her in my post, but rather that there is only one legacy trooper armor that is soon to be available and that is Jes Gistang. As for the pretty girl, I had no idea until you just said who it was.
  7. When did how much we can see ever stop someone from doing a costume?
  8. There are two builders working on a legacy trooper, but her name is Jes Gistang, and it's def a female trooper vs a male legacy trooper.
  9. Not much progress the last week, I've been super slammed with other stuff. I got into the workroom to do about an hour of work last night though. Basically closed up the forearms and built the biceps fully (no photos yet, they are filled with clamps . And before anyones says, the return edge on lower the forearm is by request. Inside you can see my sizing ring. It's the same measurement as the future owners forearm. I measured it and taped the ABS strip shut so I could check the fit of pieces as I build them. This one has several measurements so I can untape and resize it for the forearms, biceps and calfs. If I was thinking more when I first built it I would have it big enough for the thighs as well in one resizable ring, but... learn as you go
  10. Since you are smaller, and interested in a hero suit, you might look into a luke suit. Since Mark Hamil is pretty short as well, they cut the chest plate on the bottom to fit with his shorter frame in the movie. Take a look at the film again and in the scenes where he is in trooper suit, pay attention to the chest piece he has. With some other lesser modifications you can get a suit that fits pretty well.
  11. I don't agree with the hero/stunt being from the same molds. The faceplate is so much different in shape and form than a stunt.
  12. They do this one in Madrid, Spain as well. I trooped as Vader for them last weekend. They call is Disney Magic Run in Spain. Was a good time!
  13. Doesn't Doopy Doo make a T21 kit? Check for them on ebay, as I would not suggest buying directly from doopy's website.
  14. I vote for Troopermaster aka TM armor. Since it is fan sculpted and super accurate as well, the pieces come together wonderfully. The mismatch problems you find on some of the armor makers that make it a PITA to build just aren't there.
  15. The screen caps show shoulder ribs with a lip and without a lip around the edge of the ribbed bridge.
  16. The Helmets look like the Spec Op's clones "beehive" but with a more TK style to them.
  17. Ok, some progress over the last few days. Not really much progress, things have been busy with other things going on... but progress none the less. I decided to put the suit on Mr. Sexy as it is now, just to give a nice impression of it. I've built a pvc skeleton I plan on doing up with foam and such, but apparently his hips are too big for this suit and it doesn't fit! Time to readjust him. I still have to close the backs of all the arms/leg pieces, and a few other little detailing things, and build the biceps.
  18. Welcome! Yes, as Steffen said, the Nordic Garrison is a great group to be a part of and they surely can help you once you get in contact with them. I'm sure that someone will be replying here soon. Your sizing is small, but not impossible, so if you have the will and the love, you'll be trooping before you know it.
  19. Mark, you have misread my post as well as some of the conclusions I think. I think screen accurate is the way to go, and for instance I have learned about cap rivets being used to connect the belt vs pop rivets that you see used in a lot of builds. I will be using cap rivets for the belt now that I am aware this was the way they did it on the screen. The thread started one way and ended another. The consensus was that the original belt in question was improperly assembled in some way leading to the rivets popping out. On a properly built belt, there should be almost no stress on the belt, and surely not enough to pull the rivets out of the plastic/cloth.
  20. I think this thread should be resurrected. There are a lot of good points in here for new builders and old alike! Thank you to all of the expert armorers who have chimed in here to provide help to all of us doing builds to help us make as accurate and robust of a build, while still staying within the screen accurate methods.
  21. But the details are all that matter I've used my super professional photo editing skills to create these.... Mine: RS: I wanted to see what I could see in other TK screen captures, but the website http://starwarsscreencaps.com/ doesn't seem to work any more.... maybe LFL shut them down. I would say though, if there was 0.5mm more, it wouldn't kill it
  22. They do have newer armor, it's called NE and quite a few pieces have been shown to be recast (which is a bad thing) from a set of RS armor. As far as I am aware, NE armor is not allowed to be sold here on these forums. They are working on even newer armor, which is supposed to be their own work, but it still has a lot to go in terms of accuracy. If you aren't into your armor being accurate and looking like you just came from a movie set, then it's your choice to be so.
