  1. Agreed! There is more progress but I haven't taken pictures.... I think it's because I'm on the home stretch possibly. Left to do is attach the holster, finish the shins with elastics and paint the handguards. Then polishing it up! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Yes, you got me there, as the CRL only states that the bars should be painted black, but don't need to be. And no reference to positioning.
  3. Aren't you a little skinny and short for a stormtrooper?
  4. Star Wars collectors and fans here on the FISD.. nooooo way, never! Post em, I'm sure you'll get takers
  5. But showing a screen used helmet doesn't mean it gets approval. Case in point, only cutting 3 teeth on the stunt helmets. This helmet also looks like 5 teeth are cut out. I'm for letting things screen on screen go, because thats what the program is for, higher levels of accuracy and detail, right?
  6. Nice! I missed these photos.
  7. New progress from today, more to come later.
  8. Congrats Diana and Co.! You're gone a long to make armor that was obviously to big, to fit much better. You guys surely went above and beyond in terms of how much you did to the armor to make it just right! Well done.
  9. So, Now I'm happy with the helmet. The elastics didn't come in the mail today, crap. Should be here tomorrow and I can put them in and get the suit done! Updating the main post as well.
  10. Yes, I agree. I erased them completely and am starting them again
  11. Helmet finished this morning... mostly. Not happy with the rear right trap.
  12. Bump. Day 7, Helmet 90% complete. I should be getting the required elastics tomorrow in the mail and I will put the final touches on the suit. Maybe 5 more hours in the build...
  13. Your doopy kit as is with a new scope rail is pretty accurate as far as Blasters go, and it's fairly simple to build as a lot of screw here and place here lines are already in the casting (at least they were when I bought mine so long ago). My doopy also came with a cast hengstler, did yours? It's like people before me have said, it's all about how far you wanna go. The doopy out of the box is a pretty nice blaster and pretty accurate as far as blaster kits go. Lots of addons you can upgrade though, into "real" parts.
  14. Awesome! I may be doing a 1mm build myself in the near future, so I'll take inspiration from your thread inspired by my thread, which is inspired by those who came before us all! I'll be watching and will add anything I can to help out. I agree with Germains sentiment though... such a nice suit, you have other screen accurate strapping things, and you consider if you will use the brackets and screws? You gotta do it! It's a great system, and makes sure that each piece is in the exactly right spot. There is no guessing like when you use straps and snaps as to how long the straps need to be, where to place the snap plates and so on. It's all laid out and made up for you. Both sets of brackets and screws I've built with have come from mrnostripes who does them, and they have been great each time.
  15. updated the photos in post #1 for day 5 progress.
  16. I've attached a FX sniper plate and TM sniper plate, both were pretty easy, but the TM is the best, obviously between those two. In General, TM is super nice to build. It just works. Paul has really a great product and I love building them.
  17. Hey, you and your husband inspired me to build another set of armor. I think I like building more then anything! It lets me pretend I"m crafty and such.
  18. bump for progress added.
  19. Just make sure you send more photos then is normally required I took photos based on the Centurion program and sent them for approval, this way there was no question as to if there was something missing or something they couldn't see.
  20. Bump for Day 3 updates. Mostly little detail things done. Getting pretty close to having all the big work done, then comes small detailing and the helmet build.
  21. Sadly no progress today, I've gotta hit the road for work, but I'll be back tomorrow afternoon!
  22. Thanks for the reminder. I remembered when I started that the bottom edge of the bicep and forearm have 0 return edge on the lower ends, but wanted to double check... then forgot
  23. Bump for new progress in post #1
  24. Hi Gayle! Welcome! I would say if you are going to shim, you should try to recreate the original look. Since it is a FX with the clam shell type closeure it makes it more difficult. The problem is that when adding a large shim, the lip then moves really far off of the center, where it used to be. It may be an odd creation, but I would cut off the lip on the back, and shim half on one side then half on the other. In the new middle you can add a cover strip to go over the seam.
