  1. My thoughts on the helmet is you need to trim the brow from the cap to the line, and trim down the ears by a lot. From the 1 photo the eyes and frown look good though.
  2. If your chest is riding up, that means you either need to open the neck gap some or spread out the chest and back plate elastic. Since everything it connected if the straps on your chest/back are too short it will pull your chest up and choke you.
  3. If your neck/chest is riding up, it's because your backplate is likely to high, which means it will pull the chest up because the butt and kidney are pulling the back down, and since the chest is connected to the back it pulls it up. Get a shot of the shoulder bridge area when it's on, as well as the full back. Since you are using the bracket connection, I know the back pieces are in the right relation to each other. You might need to lengthen the shoulder strap to get the back into a more comfortable position so it doesn't pull the chest up. For the shins.... you were not able to close them before you put in the internal shin right? A shim like that will cause closure problems because it's not form fitting to the inside of the leg. The best thing to do is show us a photo of the shins on your leg. Sometimes, they are just cut too small and you either have to wing it and be ok with it or get replacement shins :/ Not many people look at the back of your legs, it''s likely no one will notice it if it's only the bottom that isn't closing.
  4. I'm 100% it will be approved for 501'st once it's build and as long as it's built right. TZA is building a new now with 3D printing. They have a thread somewhere on here if you want to look it up as well. It doesn't look that bad.. it's an animated series, so give it a break
  5. I've only been doing this a about a year and a half. there are people who have been doing this for over 10 years!
  6. Just remember like I said in a post above. The screen captures, RS suit photo references and the replica section are the way to go to ensure your suit looks like it stepped right off the screen. I have tried to incorporate that information and knowledge into the builds I do just incase someone looks at a picture from something I've done so that I don't lead people astray.
  7. So all the ANH kits are sold and all the pipes driled and such. I still have the ESB promo kit left though. I'm in the middle of a TK build then I have 2 weeks vacation to Sweden for camping, fishing, grilling and enjoying nature. So that means this thread is on pause while that happens. I will get back on it once I return though!
  8. Check my signature, my 3 previous builds are in there as well.
  9. Hi Bone, You made the right choice going with Troopermaster! I look foward to seeing your own build thread once you get your suit. Indeed, everything I know about builds has come from here, all the builds, posts and help from other members and I've collected these pieces in all the build threads I've done. I've done hero, Stunt, 1.5mm and 1mm. I'm a very junior builder compared to some of the other folks here though! Always remember, use the photo gallery for a true reference, not my or anyone elses build threads. While looking at the builds can help, when you want to be sure you get a 100% screen accurate look, the RS suit screen caps and the replica section are the place to be. See you in the German Garrison one day!
  10. The table is a mess, got a few projects going... all competing for space on the big table.
  11. I'm thinking how to compile all the builds I've done, so I can easily find them for future reference.. This thread should help me do that! Well, I don't update it, but these 4 are some examples Build #1 - ANH Hero - Troopermaster 1.5mm ABS Build #2 - ANH Stunt - Troopermaster 1.5mm ABS Build #3 - ANH Hero - Troopermaster 1.0mm ABS Build #4 - ANH Stunt - Troopermaster 1.5mm ABS
  12. I've got another commission and I've gotten all the parts and begun the build! I'm in a time crunch to get this done fast! So in the excitement, I didn't even take the entry box/unpacking shots! I'll make up for it with a fast build! I decided the way I was doing things before... taking everything out, trimming everything then doing the gluing and assembly was a bad way to do it in regards to time used. The best way since I've only got 40 magnets and 10 clamps is to cut and glue one set of parts right away. While I am waiting for the E6000 to set, I work on the helmet or cutting the main body parts. This way I'm not sunk waiting on parts to glue with nothing to do. So far... I've gotten the Thigh fronts and one forearm gluing, then I worked on the helmet got it cut out and ready for assembly. I've finished the thighs, fully closed and sized, and one forearm. And the right forearm The helmet is trimmed and riveted. I'll finish the ears and start painting this afternoon. A few new updates... All the rounded pieces fully sized to the new owner and closed up. Did some trimming on the chest and butt.... does that say anything about me? Also, helmet is nearly done, just the stripes to paint on. Bad lighting it's taken at almost midnight.... better ones when it's done. Finished the helmet now.. well I still need to paint the screws white, but I consider it finished Back from Vacation now, putting the finishing touches on the suit now. Looking to get this to it's new owner on Monday. This will be a photogasm of my progress over the last days. Legs and arms strapped and waiting. I still need to add the hooks on the biceps, thats part of todays finishing work. Torso is all done strapped and connected and put up on Mr. Sexy. Remaining to do is paint the buttons and sew the male end of the snaps on the shoulder bridges. Armor is boxed and and heading to it's new home now!
  13. So I'm using Chrome and everywhere else I can surf to, the performance is fast and easy, as expected. But there are times when I"m on the FISD that it's like trecking through the tar pits. It isn't all the time, but it's enough that I notice it and it's very annoying. Like right now, it took me 5 minutes to get this page loaded to write this post. Opening messages is terrible slow, everything is terrible slow. But it only seems to be here, from the sites I've been on. This has been a problem for months now so it isn't something new, I've just finally decided to write a message about it. I went through disabled addins, cleared cache and all the standard stuff, reloaded and restarted.. same deal.
  14. I was just about to edit my post to reflect this, but thats for the correction
  15. **EDIT, nvm, sorry ***
  16. Looking better. One thing to keep in mind when using coverstrips.... The raised edges where the coverstrips are. What you want to do is the raised edge should be approximately as wide as the coverstrips, not much wider as I've seen in a few photos. If you can trim some more off so that they are the same width as the cover strips, that would be ideal. Also, you will want to trim all of the return edge off of the bottom of the bicep. This is from a screen used suit, you can see there is 0 return edge on the bottom. For your shoulder placement, you will want them as close to the shoulder straps as possible without going under. But definitely not longer and hanging out, the goal in all cases all over the suit is to remove as much black as possible. For your belt, check this: You see the holes on the left and right near the cod piece, there used to be snaps there where the belt attaches. These are used the position the belt right on the ab. Check this screen shot: The top of the belt should come to the bottom of the lower blue button. This will keep it from sliding down like a big smile, and looking droopy. Overall, you're on the right path, and with a few small changes like I've outlined and the input form others, you've very close to having a very slick looking TK suit.
  17. NAh, this is just a shadow across the eyes caused by the low brow.
  18. I thought that RT-Mod had a TDet, and drop boxes already?
  19. I think this armor will fit her well. There is a sale thread in the junkyard from KWdesigns which has all of the body measurements for the armor.
  20. The biggest thing about people making ironman and so on from the 3d pep files is that the authors of these files have provided them for open use, so it's ok to replicate them because of this. It is however completely different to buy a set of armor, make a casting from it and then make your own molds/bucks to produce armor, without the original makers express permission to do so.... And they almost never will give permission to do so. As far as the OP question, I think taking a 3D model from a game and having it printed is one of those borderline things, that is generally accepted. You are taking a digital media then making it reality. Granted in this day and age digital is becoming as sensitive as solid matter in the realm of copying. I think that likely the creator of said digital item/model unless they have given permission to reproduce it would not be happy it was recreated without permission. Then again sometimes a digital artist would be super pleased to see their creation come to life, if they were involved in the process. It is a new field working with the copying/reproduction of digital files, so we will have to see how it works in the future. I'm leaning towards digital files are just as sacred as physical items in the realm of reproduction unless you have created the digital file yourself, or have the permission of the digital artist. It is one of those shades of gray things.... hard to be black and white.
  21. Ok, so I took a new photo of the full kit that includes the fully drilled aluminum pipe, the T-Tracks, and the D-Ring which were missing before. I also used my new drill press today and got another pipe ready! I'll be finishing the rest of the pipes in the next 2 days and will start shipping the ones that are paid for.
  22. Awesome job, fast response.. where is the comment cards!
  23. Hi Scott! I actually have one ANH kit that was promised but not paid for yet. I will PM you and we will see if you can get it if you're ready. Otherwise, I hope to be able to make another run in a few months. Steve, thanks for the assist!
  24. Thanks! Maybe put in that he offers a XL shin thats longer and a little wider then standard for the taller guys? Since the shin is really the biggest problem for a taller build, as the short ones just look funny.
  25. I would like to submit a change to the listing for Troopermaster. The description says not for taller troopers. I can confirm that this is 100% incorrect. TM will change out the shins to his XL shins on request. These are about 2 inches longer than the normal shin and really rock the suit for taller folks. In my signature, build #1 is my TM I made and wore... I am 6'6" (198cm), 34w/36L and it fit better then any other suit I could have bought. The Torso piece is long enough to fit my torso length without a problem, but any taller than my height... not recommended. I'd say I'm at the limit for height and waist to fit the suit without shims.
