Don't forget to add a cut-out/step to the top of the ear as it allows the ear to come in more at the top. Just remember where ever it's touching you will need to sand to reduce gaps elsewhere

Lenses were there but under armor so I've moved it to under the helmet area. Neck seal some references here but hard to make out, we know it's ribbed around the neck though

SW Resistance TK build(SLOW)
gmrhodes13 replied to crema's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
You could google C3P0 builds, they use a gold base and cover in 2K clear which does not change the gloss finish. As for flexible most paints won't flex and can crack, plastic chroming may be the answer there depending if it's available close to you -
Most appears ok for basic. You want to make sure your drop boxes align with the end of the plastic belt For higher levels EIB and Centurion you would need to address some gaps ab/kidney, you could perhaps tighten the strapping, the ab is also sitting lower than the kidney. Posterior is being pushed away from the kidney, V tabs can help this With a heat gun (or oven) you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate. Also Han snap is a little far away from the corner Detonator gaps are different on both sides PHOTO GUIDELINES Photo size- At least 800 X 600 (preferably 1280 X 960) A neutral (solid) background color is suggested, more info in this thread

Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks -
Forum only has a small amount of space available so most of us use a free online photo hosting service, like Imgur, you upload your photos there then copy and past the link to them here in your thread. When taking photos try to use a contrasting background, your GWL will thank you as they have to edit them for the legion database

To access forum merchandise you must request higher forum access below, instructions in first post. NOTE you must log into the detachment forum at least once per year annually and keep your access. Affiliation on your legion profile is more to do with voting, usually this is an automated process each year before election cycle begins.

Need Help Ask the Deployment Officers Advance to 1500 Advanced Tactics Awards Social Media Newsletter Editor Staff List 2023 Follow FISD Greetings troopers, Another busy month behind us. I hope you had a good May 4th weekend and were out representing the detachment with pride. I saw a few sales happening from the various vendors so if you managed to pick up a deal make sure to show us your progress here on the forum. This month has seen significant progress on 2 CRLs with both Imperial Armored Commando and Captain Enoch closing in on a chance for a new First in Legion Kudos. CRLs are a community effort, and all are welcome to come and join in on creating them. Even a spelling check is welcome and given who's writing them I am sure there will be a few! Over the years FISD has built up a number of incentive programs to help motivate and reward those who go the extra mile. Some have been very successful, the EIB and centurion programs, the attachƩs who represent us to their local garrisons, and emerging the Valkyries who represent our female and female presenting members. Others have not had the impact hoped, and either need a bit of a rework or some more promotion. The staff have been looking at revamping one of these, and hopefully will be in a position to announce some of this soon. I would also like to draw your attention to the 3D Contributor Program. There is no denying that 3D modelling and printing has completely changed the costuming world. From simple small parts all the way to complete weapons and costumes. Here are FISD we are no different and already a have a lot of parts available for members to download and print themselves. If you have something you have designed and are willing to contribute to other members then maybe an award will be coming your way. And finally the new 2024 racing shirt run is now live. These runs are not a small amount of work for the DMBO, or anyone who helps with them. This was compounded this year as we needed to request permission from every single unit commander to be able to use their logos on the sleeve, not a small task. Please join me in thanking the team for the huge amount of work they put in to make these runs happen. With Unquestioned Loyalty Chris Pearson TK-10991 "themaninthesuitcase" Detachment Leader Greetings fellow members, As you may have noticed, we are working on the Imperial Armoured Commando CRL. I would like to welcome all eagle eyes, to come visit the thread, take a look at where we are at with it, offer advice and input to help us bring it to fruition. We have most of the written part down, but it requires refinement and more eyes across it. We have the photos ready to go and are closing in on presenting a finished product to the LMO team. Come check it out, and feel free to chime in and offer what you have. With Unquestioned Loyalty Andrew Franke TK-11469 "Sly11" Executive Officer Greetings Heroes of the Empire! Merch update time! Old Business After a lot of back and forth, changes and disagreements with the manufacturer, the coins have been finished. The latest issue was that over 200 of them failed QC inspection, so they had to be remade. The manufacturer told Pfab that they would be shipping to him by end April, so early May distribution is the current target. Hopefully they will reach you before the newsletter day. The combined SpecOps and FISD MBOs wish to express our greatest apologize for this delay. It is unfortunately out of our hands. We only hope the end product is worth the wait that we've all endured. Any further developments will be posted in the sales thread, found here: Secret Merch Item Banner patches are complete as of 24 April 2024. They are in QC now and will hopefully be shipping to Pfab for distribution by the end of the month. I will post any updates in the sales thread listed below. Stormtrooper Banner Patch The Rocker run was in production as of the middle of April. Hopefully these will start arriving to members that ordered before this newsletter is published. Any additional updates will be posted by @MaskedVengeance in the sales thread (below). Rocker patches. The First FISD "Standard Logo Item" poll for the T-shirt/Hoodie is closed. You can find the conversation and results in the link below. Staff will now take the results and either create a run or a new poll to further drill down into the wants of the detachment. FISD Branding Item Poll FISD OT and FO vinyl stickers are available again from Assassin Graphics. New Business The Terrell Reber Memorial patch run is open. This run is open to all members of the Legion in good standing. If you are interested in ordering one of these patches check out the sales thread below. Terrell Reber Memorial Patch And last but not least, the one everyone has been asking for over the past 2 years. The 2024 FISD Racing Shirt (OT Version) LMBO set us back by not allowing us to run the First Order version of this shirt as a variant. We did open a poll for 3 weeks (closed on 10 May 2024) in hopes that the interest level for the shirt would justify the use of an additional merchandise slot. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We do have the artwork for it complete, and if before the end of the year priorities changes and we want to attempt to do the FO racing shirt run we can, but at this point, we will be going with the OT only version. The run thread opened on May 1st and will close May 29th. You can find more information on the programs here. For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. Multiple EIB award recipients and info here NOTE If you are approved with a "2nd Version" of a particular costume that you are already approved with you do not receive an additional award, there is only 1 award issued for each costume version ie: only 1 x Hero, 1 x Stunt, 1 x HWT, 1 x ESB, 1 x TFA and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd Version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For those of you who have a particular issue (or issues) before or after submitting for Expert Infantry / Centurion level approval, in order to get you an answer faster you can now privately contact the entire Deployment Officer team at one time! Hello and welcome aboard, head to the First Order Battle Group area, full of information and build threads to follow You can find your local garrison here https://www.501st.com/maps/imagemap-northamerica.php
-
Hello and welcome aboard, research is the key, looking forward seeing a build from you soon.
-
Although not needed currently having a second set is great for long troops especially conventions when you can change into a nice fresh set after a long break, noting worse than putting on a cold, sweat infused undersuit
-
Very nice, if you wish you could also post in the 3D depository I know it's still early on but make sure when it comes to your submission you have the forearms on the right arms, note the small black detail in pill boxes should be on the inside of the forearms Getting close now.
-
This getting old poodoo sucks
-
Compression top and bottom work well for me, great for hot weather, on long troops I carry a spare set so I can stay nice and fresh. I also got a cotton set which I wear underneath my compression set for really cold troops, helps having that little bit extra warmth some times/ Luckily managed to find both at a local chain store, I hear others have purchased from Amazon or sporting stores. Having the two piece allows a toilet break in armor, just have to adjust the cod to the side and be careful not to pinch anything

SublimeBW's Armor Master's (AM) ANH Stunt Kit - Build Thread

I think you are a bit stuck with those holes as they are quite high, you don't want to remove too much lower rim because this allows younglings to look up inside the helmet. I would glues some scrap abs behind those holes then fill with ABS paste, sand with wet dry sandpaper and use water, stops the sandpaper from clogging, use varying grits and finish polishing. I wouldn't trim more than this. If you trim here the gap should be reduced, albeit I think it would pass as is Would also be interesting to see the angle of your ears, although "ideally" they should follow the angle of the rear traps, this is only a suggestion and not a must. Nice work BTW, I think these are saveable, little bits at a time. I had "trigger fingers" sticking tendons in the hands so know exactly what it's like having finger issues Surgeon said he'd never seen anyone with trigger fingers on the middle fingers on both hands, told me to stop flipping the bird to people
-
You were too fast, ABS paste is better being applied with thinner coats, reason! the thicker the applied paste the more air bubbles can form inside during the curing process. Bit late now though, see how you go you can always add a thinner coat later.
-
Firstly congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks You should be fine for higher levels with your ears, note the CRL mentions "ideally" and that's for L3 Centurion but even then I've seen straighter approved: OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Ideally, placement of ears (and screws) should closely follow the rear angle of the trap above them Personally I'd say your screws are a little large and too close to the end of the brackets, comparison below. Would also pay to check your measurements and the gap between the end caps and control panel. Ultimately it's up to our @Deployment Officer Team who should chime in soon
-
If you look at those before you at their profile you will see they have not been upgraded as yet. A.C. has not been online to process these requests as yet, he will be along in due course, please stand by. Also note those wanting access for merchandise, both current runs don't end until the end of May so there is plenty of time

Mobility Cuts UK
gmrhodes13 replied to Generalsneers's topic in TK Pre-Approval Questions & Discussion
Just make sure you are not too tall, mobility cuts can work for those with shorter legs, but with long legs it can show A LOT of black area. If it's a case of you want more leg bending, most can't bend legs fully. -
David Fraser's 3D printed R1TK build
gmrhodes13 replied to DavidF's topic in Rogue One Build Threads
I wonder if they had strapping issues hence moving it over the belt, can really see the overlap in this reference You may want to do both version, although it could be ok for basic (depending on your GML) as this detail (so far) is seen on the Obi-Wan troopers we may see a new costume CRL or additional options added to the ROTK CRL.
