  1. For most section I used E6000, just a great glue if anything moves and you need to separate and remove the old glue. For the pieces you don't want any movement from I used JB weld.
  2. Even though I was pretty sure from photo comparisons, does not look like Anovos
  3. Opposite side or underside I can confirm that today I have received a kit from FN Armor which was free for testing, comparison, building and feedback, I have just started a build thread here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38080-qs-fn-armor-build/
  4. Today I received a set of FOTK armor offered by Peter from FN Armor for comparison, building and feedback. For anyone wondering after initially being approached by Peter if I would take part I first contacted Tim our DL to make him aware and he was happy for me proceed. I then advised Peter as a GML and 501st member I could not endorse or promote his armor but would be happy to compare, build and offer feedback to which he has agreed and I have not been given any restrictions to what I can post. I have only opened the box to have a quick look at a couple of pieces, I can see it will definitely fit those of my size and larger. I will be comparing with my Anovos armor but unfortunately do not have access to Jim's or KB's armor for comparison. I will have more time over the weekend to have a look at the pieces in more detail. I will be giving some feedback and photos to Peter before getting fully into building the kit. The obligatory BBB photos More to follow soon
  5. I used automotive acrylic paint, not too bad for chipping or scratches and can be cut and buffed. To save getting too many chips I made fabric pouches for all of the armor parts to cart them safely, worked pretty well so far. Still get the odd scratch from a troop though.
  6. Nice work, gonna look great
  7. Great stuff, love a BBB, good luck with the build
  8. Congrats Kris and welcome to the ranks
  9. Check out the getting started section, here is a good start http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  10. BBB photos, there's nothing better, good luck with the build
  11. Trooperbay has all colors, although I believe he is closed until end of the month https://trooperbay.com/?s=pauldron
  12. It does look as it needs to be brought up on one side, it's a definite slant. I would say adjust the mount on the side and see how it looks. Nice tutorial on fitting ears here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29238-my-helmet-ear-tutorial/
  13. YAY BBB, there is nothing better, good luck with the build. For frown mesh and mic tips I just used flywire mesh from a hardware store. I did give the mesh a coat of silver paint for the mic tips. You can also purchase mesh from trooperbay https://trooperbay.com/trooper-helmet-frown-screen
  14. I use a two piece compression suit, keeps me cool enough with rubber or material gaskets
  15. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/34902-centurion-level-rivet-sets-for-sale/
  16. A few different ways posted here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23538-attaching-lenses/
  17. It is amazing what you can find with obscure builds over at RPF (Replica Prop Forum)
  18. There is this version too http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Combat_Driver
  19. I have seen the odd helmet or two advertised on the 501st forum. An applicant has submitted for approval and a CRL is being worked on, apparently it will fall under IOC and the costume will be an imperial cadet. There is also a nice build thread on IOC http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/5087-star-wars-rebels-imperial-cadet/page-1
  20. Once approved you have to ask for a status upgrade here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/
  21. Just my own hand skills, took a bit of time but I think they came out ok
  22. Thanks mate I downloaded them a few years ago when I was looking at a Sandtrooper build. I don't have a link for them, I just did a search on google images for pouches until I found them
  23. Looking good, I glued some elastic and Velcro to both end caps so I could keep things inside
  24. Mounting straps attached Strap rivets attached Foam inserts cut Foam inserted and pouches complete
