Joey's First Time 5'6", 170 lbs, ESB [TM]
gmrhodes13 replied to springaling's topic in ESB Build Threads
Great news, nothing better than a BBB. With posting images you should use the "direct link" or you can right click on the image, select copy and paste directly into your thread, Imgur is a good photo host to use for posting multiple images into your thread. Good luck with the build. -
TK41970 Requesting ANH EIB Status (AP) [898]
gmrhodes13 replied to Etrooper70's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Nice work trooper there are a couple of things you could improve. The belt could come up a bit, it sits just under the last button, also the plates are not rounder off on the edges It also looks the blue on your buttons are quite dark, did you use French blue No14? Thigh cover strip should stop before the lower ridge Cover plate on your TD is angled and has a return edge showing, you could trim the sides straight. You may want to add a close up of the TD screws as well. Forearms are touching your hand plates, you could move this up a little as you have a big gap at the elbows. Drop box straps could also be shorter Watch the closure of your shins, one is not closed and stepped. You could also bring your thighs down a little, this will give you some more room at the back A few adjustments and I'm sure you will do fine, good luck. -

Imgur works great, with forum updates you can now right click on an image in Imgur, select copy then paste directly into your thread, you can add multiple images as well. -

Here's a really informative helmet build thread which you can compare with. Also a couple on how to trim ears here and here Links to images of teeth, eyes and brow trim

Straighten up the brow and you should be fine. On the left (front view) your smallest cut out looks a little high compared to the rest, you could take a little more material from the other cut outs as there is still a lip showing there. Mic tips could do to be a little straighter, you can do this by adding an angled piece of rubber hose behind, when you turn the angle it will adjust which way the mic tip faces. Always a good idea to check the Gallery section for references

Nice work, looking forward to the progress, a little less blood though -
FYI generally the required amount for forum donations is fulfilled within the first 24 hours, it pays to frequent the forums if you wish to make a donation

Even adding a little E6000 around the hole can help prevent snaps pulling through

TK-32568 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status (AM) (892)

Congratulations trooper and welcome to the EI ranks -
Hello and welcome aboard, I also have ATA and it's now in it's 7th year so you won't be disappointed with it. Research is the key to this hobby, lots of great build threads full of assembly information, have a look through a few of those and also save reference images as they are great to have on hand when you are building. Good luck and looking forward to seeing those BBB photos and build thread.

I have a small compressor and spray gun it's a great help when you want to try get a shade closer to a particular armor, it still takes some time though to get the right mix and of course trying test samples as the paint dries differently. All I can suggest is either taking to a automotive paint supplier and have them colour match or trial and error and try mix the paint yourself.

OH DEAR GOD!!!! (A Kidney Plate Story)
gmrhodes13 replied to TK-42775's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I've seen a few people use a wood guide for specific pieces and they are well worth while spending the time making them, ABS doesn't like keeping it's shape when heated and have a guide to form too is very handy. With the heat iron I cover the ABS with some baking paper, seems to help the iron glide better Great work and full marks for taking on the task. -
These are a lot more work than a standard OTTK build but great to see you've still kept going and almost nearing the end.

Nice work trooper just a couple of things you could address before a DO gets started. TD grey is very dark, it should be much lighter, also you need to use "pan head" screws Cod snap should be a rivet Thigh cover strips should finish above the lower ridge and not all the way to the bottom Rear calve cover strips should also stop below the top ridge, you could also trim the lower section of your calves, Corner angled cuts are very large on your belt Could you also add a photo of your blaster D ring

Tee-Bowls' First Order Trooper TFA/TLJE Build (KB Props)

Sorry to hear about the fall but glad to see you back on your feet and moving along with the build. It's funny how building one costume can then lead to others, that bug can definitely bite hard
