  1. Welcome to the FISD Matt. Try looking here. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ Good luck!
  2. I have a TM helmet and I got rid of the chin strap. It got in the way while trooping, you know with the bucket on bucket off photos. I also swapped out the green film lens and installed a dark green welders face shield. I cut it to fit inside the helmet and cut a notch so it wouldn't cut the bridge of my nose. It is really dark and no one can see my eyes. I also don't use the star foam padding. Whenever I would put the helmet on, the padding would shift and block my vision, so instead I purchased a set of adhesive backed helmet pads and installed those. Now I have no problems with the helmet. It fits great and is comfortable to wear. Hope this helps.
  3. I also have Echo's fan system in my TM helmet. Works great and usually only have to run one of the fans at a time.
  4. Posted Yesterday, 08:49 PM Also, i see everyone using nomex flight gloves...i plan on going ESB and applying for EIB/Centurion and am looking for gloves...i found some walmart rubber gloves with grips for $3, but im worried theyll be too hot here in texas...anyone use the silk liners alone? I know it will probably be hard to grip things, and i can make due with $3 rubber gloves at least until halloween comes around and i can go to the costume stores for thinner gloves...opinions on this? I use the rubber gloves with silk glove liners. It keeps my hands a lot less sweaty and doesn't add bulk to make it hard to put the rubber gloves on.
  5. I still have the record. I listened to that everyday, and since it was before VHS, it was the only thing I had. I would listen to it and re-enact the movie using my action figures. I spent several hours doing this almost every day. I also remember going to Sears and seeing Darth Vader. I got a picture signed by him and I still have it. Aaaahhh, the memories!
  6. Really cool! Love the carbon fiber accents Well done
  7. Wow! That's interesting. Who has that much time on their hands to put this together? I tried watching but couldn't get out of the A's
  8. Congratulations on EIB Diana! Nicely done
  9. Looking good so far. About how heavy will it be when your done?
  10. I was wondering when I'd see you up here. Looks good.
  11. Congrats on the RS suit! Good luck on your build.
  12. Nicely done! Should have no problem getting approved.
  13. Wow! It's like watching the movies one frame at a time.
  14. You're welcome Bobby. Hope it works out for you
  15. You might also want to consider a bicep hook. Tutorial is here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/37-howto-create-a-bicep-strap-hook/ Just another option.
  16. I wouldn't trim those areas. It really won't help as far as fitment goes. Those areas will be under your shoulder bells. I would, as Germain mentioned, trim the biceps down to get a tighter fit. Either that or put some foam pieces inside the bicep to make it fit better. Personally, I would go with what Germain mentioned.
  17. I'm interested in seeing what role Andy Serkis will be playing. Maybe a Gollum like creature.
  18. WOW! That is cool and funny at the same time In 1978, I would have been blown away by that. Now that I know better, those suits look funny. Still, not too bad for a '78 fan made suit. I'm sure there wasn't a lot of reference material like we have today back then Thanks for sharing that.
  19. Looks great! Should be an easy pass.
  20. Much better Looks really good! Good luck with your application. I would upload some pics of your blaster though.
  21. Maybe there is something wrong with my computer, but I don't see any pics.
  22. Totally interested. What's up for sale?
