  1. I added to the tally in September. Proud to have done so. We're now sitting at 263 with three active submissions needing additional info or mods requested. Time to start beating the bushes to encourage more folks to apply! now where did I leave my Attaché? he was around here somewhere.... totally useless stormtrooper icon in 3...2..1... ->
  2. Way to go Derek. Congrats! Looking forward to the Centurion Application. Try uploading the high res images to Photobucket or the like, then it will be easy select all images, and copy the IMG tags for them and dump into a post.
  3. Clamps

    Sweet

  4. If I understand the question, on my AP build I trimmed a little off both sides so that the coverstrip lines up with the raised section of the one side.
  5. Keep it up, its looking great!
  6. CONGRATS Bennett! Well Done. The road to 300 adds another brick!
  7. that is an amazing LACK of black showing between the thighs an the cod/butt. Looks like you are gunning for Centurion! Good luck trooper!
  8. Karl, as per your request over on FB, here are my AP plastic hand guards from all sides:
  9. If you have a soldering iron, you can poke a nice hole in the nylon webbing, the other easy option is a punch tool (which comes in handy for all your snap/strapping needs
  10. If you have a Harley Davidson dealership in town, try them as well. My local Harley place has Novus 1 and 2.
  11. I removed the same area you have highlighted when attaching the handle to my bolt (see my build in my sig below). I also love dm101's build thread.
  12. Thanks Matthias, I appreciate the fix and I appreciate the guidance along the way. I kept a close eye on AP builds going for Centurion and your comments and recommendations were a great guide towards trying to make my build better. I'll take the recommendations you provided and work to make my kit a little better with each one. I am also keeping close tabs on the recommendations that will soon go to poll for updating the Centurion requirements and plan to, where possible, tave those recommendations implemented in my kit. Mat, you said it exactly right, ADDICTIVE! So much so I have to take a step back and remember there is a family upstairs As for my blaster, the credit goes to all those amazing builders out there that I took all my ideas from. Nothing I did was original, credit goes to those that really studied the bajeebus out of the sterlings and screenshots!! (but thank you for the kind words on my adaptation).
  13. the 9V wire leads I have are WAY thinner than what shows in your image. Can you express the size of the wires in gauge?
  14. sorry, I guess upon closer inspection to what you show here, those are definitely not tri-glides. Sorry about that. here is a photo of my original setup plan using tri-glides. The belt was replaced with leather one. I also added a second snap on each side and a bit of velcro for added security. probably overkill.....
  15. we'll have none of this sir business... i'm just a humble trooper trying to make a small little mark in the world
  16. too bad TK's don;t have lobster hands, cuz "Clamps" had a perfect solution for a lobster hand clamping method
  17. hey, how do I get the text updated above my profile picture from Expert Infrantry to Centurion. Was there any steps I missed in the process, or is it one of those automagic things that will happen when I find patience
  18. Ingrid's build Documentation is an amazingly helpful document isn;t it? I must have read it 50 times while waiting for my armour and many more times during the build to figure out what the hell I was doing/doing wrong
  19. Kevin, Congrats on getting your kit. I have an AP, feel free to hit up my build thread in my sig below. I'll pop some popcorn and have a watch to see how this goes. For me, the only real evil part of the build was the sniper plate with the AP kit is a bit awkward to install. You have to pretty much accept that the front view will be a bit wonky, but the sides will match up ok. you'll see this late in my thread. Good luck and it doesn't take that much build effort to build with EiB and Centurion in mind. There is a little bit of a cost, but the results are well worth it!! I don;t regret it for a moment! cue the popcorn machine:
  20. Thanks guys, whether you were aware or not, I have been using all the Centurion threads and builds as examples of what to apsire to in my builds. Billy, your templates were SUPER helpful for the scope rail, hengstler bracket and the ab/belt snaps. Interesting; three of my main items to fix were helmet related, the FIRST thing I build, thus the least researched and planned. I did a little touch up on the frown last night and also tried to round things out with the ear bar lining. I will need a bit more time to get the vocoder cleaned off and re-painted, but it shall be done!! honoured to be amongst such great looking troopers!
  21. I believe the items you are asking about are called Tri-glides. Shoudl be able to source at a fabric store. FYI, I went with the same style belt but found the fabric to not be sturdy enough. I went with an old leather belt and it holds things up much nicer.
  22. i know that feeling and blaster tweaking kept me sane until it did come. When it does, a whole new obsession will begin. I cannot wait to watch the progress!
  23. That's one of the things I was told in my Centurion Application that I should have painted
  24. Thanks Jose/Vern...Still smiling large after getting the thumbs up it's been a journey that I will always cherish. Now its time to get some ESB bucket and goodies going for that second EiB! Oh and hopefully some trooping can get on my schedule this month.
  25. nah, I have not actually..spent a little time taking a break and celebrating my Centurion Milestone . Sometime this week as time allows.... I have to put a little paint to the Hengstler this week as well. It'll get there soon enough ) I gotta start working my 2nd bucket (ESB), but will be sure this is complete first.
