  1. funny thing is, it says NOT to use on plastic or use in plastic dish for cleaning brush... YET it comes in a plastic bottle. ugh.
  2. I'll report back in the morning to see if there is any damage beyond the surface affected feeling less smooth.
  3. this is the brand stuff I have. There is no mention on the package of what it is made of. --------
  4. And then tragedy strikes: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=21448
  5. So, I was working on my ESB paint when a mishap occured. I guess left the brush cleaner lid loose and accidentally knocked it over into my lap. The problem with this is my freshly painted vocoder ESB bucket was also in my lap. Luckily (I thought) it fluid went onto the back side of the bucket and inside the bucket (and not all over my fresh paint job. I immediately began wiping it up it off, thinking, oh this is no big deal, as long as it does;t get on the paint. Well, not so lucky, as this has caused the surface of the bucket, wherever it ran to, to be tacky and the finish seems to have taken a bit of a dullness to it. I thought, ok, I will take a little all natural all purpose cleaner and do a light wipe of the affected areas. No luck, no change. So, after reading the brush cleaner, it says All natural, non toxic... GREAT! oh wait, May damage plastics FUDGE!!!!!. At this point, I am a little freaked, so I just put the bucket down on my work surface towel and walked away hoping evaporization will take its course and all will be well later. Wrong again. Several hours later, I picked up the bucket and where the bucket had contact with the towel under night, it was like left over adhesive feeling with towel fibres stuck to it. CRAP. I moved it to a hard surface to leave for the night. Not sure what to do at this point. it cause a bit of an issue with one of my decals. I hope it does not get worse. it also will result in needing to re-paint one ear. I will pick up some NOVUS 1 and 2 this week hopefully this is just an issue on TOP of the plastic and not an issue with the plastic being damaged. Anywho, this is the end of my battle for the day. What started off so well, ended with much unhappiness.
  6. So, its time to start my ESB thread! I have a Centurion ANH Stunt kit that, with minimal mods, I hope to make an EiB ESB worthy conversion. Below is my checklist of items to work on: Handgards - Purchased, trimmed and strapped (currently elastic for runner gloves, will change to stitched when I find the right gloves) Shoulder Bell Bicep Strap - I plan to tuck that away/tape is back when in ESB mode Helmet - I have a 2nd AP helmet I am building up to have correct paint/decal scheme Holster - I have one of TK Bondservnt 2392's convertible holsters with correct ESB black straps. I will remove my ANH holster and rotate belt 180 degress and attach ESB holster E-11 - I built my Resin E-11 to easily be able to remove Hengstler and power cylinders. Re-attached drop boxed to allow rotation to either side of belt. I think that is all, heck the only thing keeping me from Centurion would be the shoulder belts being attached in the back, but I have no intention of doing that any time soon, as it would render the ANH Stunt no longer an option. I'll start off with a few helmet shots. Bucket is built, decals are on. Painting began today. ESB on Left, ANH Stunt on the right. Handguards mostly trimmed, pre-elastic:
  7. Took me three glues to find the right one. the Loctite style superglue was the magic for me. "Super Glue" brand and Gorilla Glue were both completely useless. Once the Loctite brand was used, it was almost instand bond. Being a "green" trooper, here's hoping I left enough edge... time will tell. Edit: I have Karin's white rubber hand guards.
  8. Looking Good Carlos (or is it Karlos?)
  9. Congrats Trooper! Well done!!
  10. Great post Kevin. Keep up the hard work. There IS light at the end of the tunnel, it's just a very long tunnel. Slow and steady!
  11. since I did not have to trim the chest or back, I have no guidance to provide on the best way to approach it. Best to get some input from more experienced builders here. If you don;t get any responses in this thread, start one that is specific to this question. Good luck!
  12. looks like your left shin's rear overlap is facing the wrong direction, it should open towards the inside for both legs. The chest and back seem long on you, how tall are you? For your holster, check with Vern (TKBondsrvnt 2392), he is only a few hours to your north...he makes great holsters. http://www.whitearmo...showtopic=11577
  13. very creative solutions, Cannot wait to see the finished product!
  14. the 8MM head x 11MM height is comparable to the ones Seantrooper sells in the sales area. I got some from him and they worked great. the 9MM tall should work fine too. These will work for the Ab/Kidney split rivet Centurion requirement as well as the thigh ammo belt connection.
  15. RE: Paint...I used a primer coat first, then followed up with flat black. I thenI used the hammered black to finish up, but taped off the t-tracks. Also, the scope/hengstler/rail combo was not attached and only received flat black. I plan to hit the whole thing with a matte clear coat once I am happy with the weathering.
  16. good eye phil, now that you mention it, it does appear the RIGHT shin closure is in the wrong direction (out vs in).
  17. For resin scope I just a drilled a small pilot hole ands screwed in directly. Just don't over tighten.
  18. what is the diameter of the top of the rivets found?
  19. Clamp usage approved Keep it up!
  20. ah man, here we go again, another build to be jealous of Good luck with this one Glen!
  21. WHOOHOO!! Good luck with the build Tony. I love the box hug photo. Be sure to post photos of your progress. Are you planning to build for EiB and Centurion from the get go?
  22. Looks like a nice build Craig. Good luck with the helmet mods!
  23. How are the tweaks coming along Curry?
