  1. So the build is "done" the static posed photo time has passed and I am now trying to get out there and troop to raise some money for the kids. I am noticing that my shoulder bells are rotating back leaving an ugly black gap in the front. I have searched but I am not finding any specific answer to how to keep the bells frm rotating back. I have the bell attached forward of centre under the shoulder straps. I have strapping connecting the shoulder to the bicep to hold it up in place. The connection runs from the center/middle of the bell to the center/middle of the bicep Here is a photo form last weekend that shows what is happening. thanks in advance... clamps
  2. Greg, you may wanna start a thread introducing yourself in the New Member Introduction area. it will be a great way to meet folks here, express your interests overall for your kit and get connected to folks in your area that can help you through the process. ( if oyu have one, I apologize, as I didn;t see it).
  3. BJ beat me to the punch!
  4. Hey Greg, check out this thread for details on various makers. you can contact the for current pricing. you can also keep your eye peeled in the For Sale threads for anyone unloading a bucket. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ No real need to measure your head or make a mold. Different makers' buckets vary in size a bit, so will have to do your research on which one is the ideal fit for your body type (this goes for armour as well). Good luck.
  5. I just wanted to give a massive shout out to all my brothers and sisters at FISD for making a fantastic Detachment. I am honoured to be a part of such a great community filled with such helpful and amazingly talented people. 500 posts in and I am still learning new stuff every day! Thanks everybody! TK-Clamps
  6. post some photos of the progress. it could become a nice how-to for folks that have the same question in the future (ok actually I am just neing selfish and want to see this for myself since I am putting together ESB mods for my kit)
  7. sweet. Keep up the great work and documentation!
  8. Congrats in he EiB appointment Mindy!!! I too am having some issues with the shoulder rotating back on me, and sadly I am seeing it in my troop photos. Trying to figure out how to solve this has been a bit of a challenge. Will try Phils's recommendation of tightening the strap that goes around the bicep... Thought I wonder when I am in ESB config how I will solve that same issue...hmmm, anyway, that's for another thread to debate...returning to the task at hand! Yay Mindy!
  9. the separate wood block (cylinder shaped actually) is what I did. See my build thread for reference. I think it looks pretty good considering.
  10. I have a Resin scope on a rail (no counter for ESB config) and a real scope and counter on another rail (for ANH). Mine is easily swappable with the removal of a single screw at the rear site. I am not sure what a Dumpy's is, do you mean Doopy Doo's? if so, their counter and scope are also Resin, so no real advantage to swap out.
  11. I did the same with mine. The "bolt" or wood portion is attached with epoxy to the spring. The bolt is pushed by the spring until it meets with the end of the inner barrel. I then marked my Charging handle position and did the install. This keeps any additional pressure off the charging handle/screw.
  12. it looks AMAZING! and nope, sorry, $6000 is likely not gonna be an option to import you for a blaster build. BUT, if you every make your way to Canada, get through the mountains and thaw out from the arctic tour, please come on by Toronto, we'll take good care of ya!
  13. Do you have any close-up details of the various parts of the kit (knee ammo belt connections, sniper plate mounting, blaster. overall, just some strapping tweaking to get limbs from twisting it would be good to get the small white elastic on the shoulder straps to hold them in position. Also, shorten the shoulder bell strap to pull them in closer to the shoulder straps. Recommend adding your Thermal Detonator to get all the parts in pace to judge fit. its hard to see clearly what is going on with the shins, but something looks wonky with the back side. any closer up shots of that area? Another Tantive IV Boarding Party FB member working his way to approval. Good luck
  14. Welcome Simon! Glad to see you over here as well now.
  15. looks very nice I need to dismantle mine and move my clips more to the end caps. one of these days i will tackle that.
  16. oh for Christ's sake , now a DLT-19 ?!?!?! I gotta finda a way to smuggle you into Canada and have you build me some weapons! I cannot wait to see that too!
  17. I want to go EIB so I have to use decals. We'll see how it goes. I will replace when I have more stuff to order for myself or others.
  18. I have been starting my search for a "trading card pouch" this thread is great timing...
  19. oh no, not going "Dirty" any time soon
  20. Alrighty.... back in the game here. I got my bucket mess cleaned up to a satisfactory level to move forward. All that is left to complete on the bucket is the black paint on the ears (pinstripe and rank). Then, my final step is to get the drop boxes removed and re-attached for rotational goodness. you can see a bit on the right decal how the brush cleaner incident pooched things up. I just cannot bring myself to make ANOTHER Trooperbay order right now. but this will have to be replaced!
  21. Just a little update... using Novus alone was not good enough. So, taking the additional advice above, I performed a bucket wide sanding. I started with a 400 grit flexible sponge and worked my way up a bit with wet dry until I got a nice smooth finish. I then hit the bucket with Novus 2 and then a couple shots of Novus 1. Not AS shiny as I had hoped it would end up, but the GOO is gone, so that is a win. Bucket is almost finished, I just need to get the ear stripes and ranks painted and then I can add the padding. ----------
  22. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little
  23. Good luck with that first troop. remember , photos or it didn't happen!
  24. whoohoo, baby steps. keep chipping away. That tip for "airlock" prevention is quite interesting.
