1. here is my personal story re: side shimming.... I reached Centurion approval not too long ago. I had about 2 inches of gap on each side of my AP kit (curse that TK Pork Belly). I added roughly 2 " shim to either side to close things up for a nicer look. I connected the shims to the kidney on both sides, butt-end connection. I then used thin For-Sale sign material with E6000 to hold the pieces together, but keeps flexibility to the joint .I then added a layer of Black Gaffe tape for safety. while not pretty, but its hidden and it works. Here are the two photos from my Centurion application that shows this. The angled gap at the top is because I am leaning back to expose the rivets or snap. sorry, I don't seem to have any internal photos of this. ---------- -----------
2. assuming you have handlers or other folks kitting up with you, yes, your mates will assist if you need it (assuming they are able based on their costume). There is always something I forget and I ask for help, whether its a volume adjustment, neckseal is not hidden properly, snap pops open etc etc. That being said, its always nice to be able to work out how to get everything on yourself. Work out a process/order of operations in your head to help this along. Good luck with your assembly completion and approval.
3. Congrats on your approval. Welcome to the 501st! Cannot wait to have you submit for EiB and Centurion!
4. I'm 5'10.5" and the AP fits me nicely for lengths. But everyone's body type/length is different so let's see some photos of your concerns to better understand the fit..

I used Velcro tabs on my butt/kidney connections to keep them aligned nicely. Check my build thread in my sig for reference.

** sorry just noticed the no photo detail.
5.

Technically she has the required elements. All the other details are optional info/nice to have according to the posting guidelines and should not affect her potential approval.

Formalities aside, it would be nice to have additional details for future folks to reference.
6. This is how I approached my build. My goal was to build with centurion standards from the get go. I was a tad lazy on my resin blaster so it took an extra few weeks after my 501st approval/EiB. You can do it!
7. ^^^ awesome
8. Awesome news Jesse. Cannot wait to follow that WiP thread!
9. +1 to Kevin's drop box backs. I have them and they look great.
10. In the spirit of the Centurion program, feedback provided and the updated Centurion Standards I have made changes to my TD to move the clips approx 1/8" from the end caps. Hard to tell in the photo but they are both between 3/32" and 1/8" form the end cap. I have also added a little paint fix to the frown to make it angle out versus straight. I still need to strip off the vocoder paint and redo, but this will come when I have my ESB mods and bucket submitted and approved.
11. Congrats Trooper! Great job on the mods. Keep up the good work. We'll look forward to having you join up the EiB and Centurion ranks in no time!!
12. nice use of the Clamps!! Looking great. Keep up the good work!
13. Great work in only 7 or 8 days. Fantastic! Good luck with your approval!
14. Good Luck Andrea. The TIV Boarding Party is rooting for ya!! you may want to post a shot of the Hasbro mod's that make it EiB okeedokee (extra holes on the magazine size, and one showing the D-Ring.
15. hmmm, that sniper plate snuck in there, wonder what happened to my padding.....if it aint one thing, its another. That's what I love about this, constantly looking for little improvements.
16. Good news, I believe. I removed my white elastic connection strapping and re-made with fresh snaps with better placement. Secondly I put a second snap in the should bell just behind the one in the middle and it seems to have helped a bunch. I'll be keeping an eye on how it looks in future troops to make sure its really behaving better.
17. same for me
18. and, for the sake of being redundant, jump onto 501st.ca and intro yourself there. let's get you introduced to some folks in the area.
19. you should save that for when you build a clone. aim for the wookie
