  1. Hi guys, first you can bash me for using IE. Second, for some reason even after clearing my cache, the main page is misaligned (and has been since the upgrade/update?).
  2. +1 to what Stuart said. You get what you pay for in this community. Remember that there's an expectation you will be trooping for charity, and the cheaper suits just fall apart.
  3. Thanks! Mathias gave me some pointers beyond EIB requirements so working on them slowly. I think this is going to be always work in progress.
  4. Thanks Stuart. I think I meet all the requirements. Hope I get approved, then I can start working towards Centurion.
  5. TK 6731: Keith Foo Armor: AP Helmet: AP Blaster: Doopy Doo Resin Kit Height: 5' 10" Weight: 157 lbs Boots: TKboots Gloves: Hatch Nomex Gloves Hand guards: AP Canvas belt: AP Supplied Neck Seal: LadySewForUs Holster: AP Hovi-mic: CfO
  6. You know what does it 100% for me? Watch and episode of M.A.S.K. or Scooby-Doo.
  7. I have that problem too, I shortened my strap but this looks much better! Thanks.
  8. Looking good. Your right bicep in that picture looks like it got stuck though.
  9. I'm pretty close Mathias. All I have to do today is rivet my holster and take some new pictures. If only my wife knew how to take good pictures... hmm.
  10. Thanks now on to Phase II ... EIB! I think I'm close now.
  11. Sorry missed that one my bad. TK6731 requesting status change. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=14708
  12. The Aker doesn't seem to be impacted by fans in VOX mod which is good.
  13. No disrespect but that font is hard to read bro.
  14. Woohoo, got my TK approved by our local GML yesterday. How long does the process usually take to do all the paperwork? The email says 3 weeks? Is that usually the case?
  15. I can't take all the credit. Remember I did get the AP kit with the Ready to Wear option to help me along (as between being a new father and my job I don't have a lot of time to spare). AP did an awesome job, great communication, and the service was top notch. Given that it is impossible to get a good fit in a RTW scenario, I've been spending a lot of time making it fit better. I have before and after pics. The back is a good example of the things I've done to modify it a bit. .... not sure about that 9 month old kid option on the left boot... haha. - Fixed ribbed straps to sit better. - Aligned chest plate to ab better - Lowered back plate and redid snaps there. - Trimmed forearms to size - Trimmed right thigh to size - Added velcro to belt for tighter fit - Moved crotch snap and shorten strap for fit - Fixed right knee ammo belt - Tightened shins - Straightened lid brow - Added fans to lid - Overall "straightening" of build etc. ie. lowering biceps etc. and other very small things I can't remember even.
  16. Next project - make a better/stronger system to keep the clam shell shut to prevent this from happening. Easy fix really, 2" straps right at the top - conveniently where you need the male snap for Centurion.
  17. Sounds like Aker/iComm with VOX to me unless someone thinks otherwise. A lot of clicks going on there.
  18. So now that I'm done with the TK, I'm working on the finer details like "fit"... and how I can get it to fit way better. Started with the thighs as I seem to have "bells" ... went with a strip of foam used in SCA helmets as a brace near the knee area. It sits right on top of the knee and seems to give me superior mobility. (Like I can jump and kick with good control.) I know it's a crazy idea but I think I can make a TK not comfortable but at least "snug".
  19. My advice is to use E6000 first, because you WILL tear stuff apart in your build. Later on, you can always weld it.
  20. Get the darker lenses right off the bat too. Saves you the trouble later on.
  21. Some may disagree with me, but I think the "best" armour is the armour that fits you right. These days from what I've researched, most armour (those found here on FISD) is really nice and accurate (TM, AP, RT, RS, ...). Fit to me makes or breaks the armour. For example, AM for my body type is not the best, AP is for instance. But AM is great for someone else. Catch my drift?
  22. Getting close now. In these pics my silly ammo box got twisted. Need to shorten even more I think. Right/left thighs needs some foam to pop it out a little. And one of the side snaps pop and no one noticed. But it's getting close now!
