  1. I actually put all my costumes in these totes. And i fit my bucket in them also(except for Fett lol) Its all in the way you pack it. . I assembled my TK armor so i can separate the back and chest armor so i can nest them in each other. so first i put the ab/cod with the butt/kidney nested in that, with the chest and back nested in that. then i put the thighs on top of that with the forearms in the shins and then the shin in the thigh, for both legs. that gets most of my armor on one side of the tote. I then put my bodysuit, gloves and neckseal in my bucket and twist it in sideways so one of the shin pieces is slightly in the bucket. then i just put the thermal det, boots, belt, shoulders/biceps along the spaces in between. i also manage to get my e-11 in there also by putting the barrel in the other shin and the butt of the blaster in the bucket. i get all of it in there =) i also have an entire ESB Fett, jetpack and all, (less the helmet) in one of these as well as a full Bikerscout. I Assemble all my armor to be broken down so i can store/carry it easier. Its one of those things you think about when waiting for your armor to arrive lol.
  2. I ordered a pair of these yesterday for my TD build..if i like em as much as everyone else here, which i probably will, im replacing my Caboots from my TK with TKBoots as well!
  3. Myself and my girl got our CV tix and plane tix..and most stuff squared away. Im a little nervous about bringing my armor as well and was also thinking of shipping it to either the UPS counter in orlando, or to the hotel. Anyone ever do this for an event like this? Would shipping it to the hotel or the UPS counter be better? ugh..im so nervous about it! lol
  4. haha i saw that! i was like..why?! WHY?! LOL
  5. i have one as well, the best amp ever! Louder than the old newton amps and WAY smaller! I cant praise it enough, and cant thank Jim enough for making these available!
  6. that looks great man! Like some others imnot a big fan of the ROTJ troopers, but seeing this sways me a little...great job bro!
  7. thats what i thought lol thanks guys! i love this place!
  8. heh yea i noticed that..i was like, funny....none of the helmets i ever had were like that lol Glad i posted about this,so now others will stay away! Question though...is makerofthings and piratetrooper the same guy? the link posted in the first response was a thread about PT being a recaster, which i already knew. Just wondering if this guy was found to be the same person.
  9. thanks..thats what i wanted to know! ....and if he re-casts TE2 that is beyond forgiveable! yea i have AP armor now and messaged TE2 about a set of armor but havent heard back from T yet. Dunno when he's pulling again. Was just curious about this as it was so cheap and looked accurate-ish. thanks again....ill stick with waiting for T to get back to me!
  10. Came across this today.. http://cgi.ebay.com/Star-Wars-ANH-Stormtro...=item45f01dd5c1 i always check out what armor is on fleabay, mostly for a laugh, but this one seem intriguing to me. im looking for a less expensive set of armor for my sandy and was thinkin this may be a decent alternative. I just cant remember if .60 styrene would be too thin. What youguys think? i can swapout the ab section if need be, but the rest dont seem that bad honestly. I noticed inhis feedback that his older listings said TE stormtrooper armor, but he's since removed that. So im thinking maybe this is a recast TE? Anyway for the price it seems like a steal, just want to get some opinions before i make a decision. thanks guys!
  11. Id give the guy a break, hes done more than alot of us have. Yea its not accurate, but hey if he keeps at it , he may be able to make a nice set for himself
  12. I believe Tom is correct by saying its an early RT-Mod recast. One of my garrison mates had bought this helmet to replace his FX and then shortly after replaced it with a more accurate Tray/MC bucket. Here is a pic of us when he had this helmet.Im on the left,(full AP gear), hes on the right.. As for it not being 501st accepted, if the FX is still accepted, dont see why this wouldnt be.
  13. i am the same height, and get the same thing, sometimes it urks me too ...maybe they think stormtroopers are supposed to be tall for some reason <_<
  14. that is awesome...i wish i had aclone so i could have done this event ...
  15. i was there as well! If you see the video of the show, i was the trooper right next to the x-wing (the trooper closer to the ship)when Matt Lauer came out
  16. i also use the novus polish..i use the middle one and then the light spray one and it gets pretty glossy!
  17. i know you didnt get a helmet from me! heh. im with you 100% Nathan..thats exactly why i cast my stuff thicker...and i sell em at what i think is a good price..stuff seems to be way overpriced these days fro mediocre product. imnot a pro just yet, and some of my castings are better than others, but i try to keep em at a level i would be happy with recieving if i bought it myself. im going to rework my Vader for next year and hopefully have an even better helmet available for anyone who needs one. Seems like there arent many Vader helmet makers anymore, and i want to fill that slot by offering a quality bucket at a good price. i think these makers are casting thinner items to save money by using less supplies..thats what i think, i also think its not worth it to do that.
  18. the AP is somewhat idealized, although still a-symetrical. If you trim the eyes correctly you can get most of that bump out and it still be "screen accurate" as i did on my AP.
  19. i use a combo of snaps, plastic clips and velcro. The only area i have velcro is the backs of the calves and the sides of the ab/kindney plates. Everything else is snaps or the plastic clips. ive trooped in it this way for over a year and have not had any problems. it is also fully adjustable as i tend to gain and lose weight
  20. i have a soultion to the plasdtic pieces, that i gotfrom amember here... i used nylon webbing to attach the snap to the armor. Webbing will contour to the curve unlike a plastic square. And mine are also replaceable if the snaps should ever fail. You do this by first cutting a piece of nylon webbing and attaching the snap to it. (Like you would with the ABS square)Now, being the webbing is essentially plastic, i then epoxy the webbing (with the snap already on it)to the plastic side of a piece of industrial velcro already applied where the snap needs to go. This HAS to be the industrial type as the adhesive is rediculously strong. Once it sits 24hrs,it is VERY hard to remove, but it can be done. So again, The trick is to apply the velcro half to the armor first, then epoxy on the nylon webbing with the snap on it. If you try to attach the webbing to the velcro and then attach it to the armor, your in the same place as before with the plastic pieces as the epoxy will stiffen the webbing/velcro. i built my armor like this from the start and have trooped it over the last year at least a dozen times and have had zero problems or failure. hope this can help some of you out! PS i used dritz snaps, with the plier tool and it worked perfect.
  21. haha thats great FBJ! As for me,i like to look, as i like to say "what the stormtroopers were supposed to look like" The look they were going for, so in a way, i prefer "screen accurate" as in whats seen on screen. Not what they actually looked like in person, with paint chips n all. Not that there is anything wrong with someone going for that look, its just not for me. I grew up thinking the stormtroopers looked a certain way, and thats the look i like to strive for. What people or the kids think they see on screen.Thats what they remember, and thats how i want to be remembered when seen close up. I also like it to assemble and wear practically, but then,im guessing if this was all real,it probably would now wouldnt it?! haha Again, like was said before, huge props go to the guys n gals making exact replica suits with every flaw,i love to learn about them and think its a skill all its own to accomplish, its alot harder to make something look banged up,not to mention banged up exactly as the original, and my hat is off to you all whocan do it. every try to paint an ESB Fett helmet?!arrrggh!! LOL
  22. i agree with this completely!
  23. look back a few posts and you'll find this....
  24. oh just to be clear, i meant trim the actual shoulder area of the chest plate...not the straps....id remove them, trim the tops of the chest plate (on the shoulder areas) ..i think i cut about a half inch off mine, trim a little off the neck line following the curve already there...then put the shoulder straps back on. that will raise the chest a bit. Then do the bottom mod. that should get those ab button showing again! Hm,yea the cod does seem a bit high, but i think thats common on the females due to the hips and cuz they have nothing there to keep the armor lower .....So id try to get it a tad lower like Daetrin said. doing all that should get it to all be spaced correctly for ya!
