  1. Hey Eric! Good to see ya here! Yea thats normal. I've seen it on MTK, ATA, AP...pretty much all of those. I usually trim the bottom opening on the face a touch wider, leave about half the plastic you have there, and then the ear and/or trim covers the gap. I try to make the bottom opening as wide as i can because these helmets tend to JUST fit on peoples heads lol. Your doing a stellar job so far though bro! I posted up this thread of building an NE helmet, but i think the best part is where i showed step by step how i personally do the ears with little to no errors. It really is the same for most helmets, and seems to have helped alot of folks so check that out if you want Of course there is more than one way to do it, but i found this method to give me the least amount of screw ups lol http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26301-ne-helmet-build/
  2. There are already folks making the Rebels TK helmets and working on armor. One of which i saw here somewhere. Though the FX is closer to the Rebels TKs, its still not "right". I am interested to see some of the replies on this topic though.
  3. Maybe next time i go to PA i'll pay this guy a visit This is messed up man. i cant believe he is STILL at it! When i need a set for my display suit, i'll buy em direct from you. I'll also post up on the ECG forums NOT to buy from this guy.
  4. Love it! Oddly, i think the FX helmets that were used "officially" for the imperial commandos actually lent themselves better for these type of mods, i guess because the shape was "wrong" so it worked for a similar but different variation of trooper. That said, i really love what you've done with this. Looks great!
  5. it likely wont work to use sunglass lens unless the size and curvature is a perfect fit for the eye holes, which isnt likely. (i tried to do this years ago and never found a pair that would fit right). Your best bet is to get inexpensive dark green welders shield, which can be found from $8-$15 depending where ya go and how long and hard ya look lol. As far as the actual installation, the most common way to do it is hot glue. Simple and effective
  6. You need to have 6 to make a nice formation of little troopers Walt! Almost there Seriously though, congrats bud!
  7. ha! this is great! I may pic one up for my bikerscout just to have an extra layer for trooping when its cold! ..this may work well as an undersuit for my Jason Voorhees costume as well! Ya, know, although i've retired my TK, i trooped it for 6yrs and never had to use the bathroom while trooping. I go before i suit up and im golden( no pun intended there lol). Even drinking a ton of water, i sweat it out i suppose. Ive never had to go while trooping, even at a 4 hr event!
  8. heh awesome. I recently saw one in person at a blast a trooper event we did at NYCC. As we all can already see, they arent half bad. Im likely going to get one for troops with LOTS of kids and/or events where theres a chance they may take it away. Its a great lightweight and inexpensive alternative! I never thought id EVER say this but, Good job Rubies! lol
  9. Hey thats my card! ...and im no "kid"...but thanks lol....that no good son of a..........
  10. i think the only problem with just saying you bought it, is that then this person may go home to e-bay and find a suit to buy..and then well you know... I usually say like smiling fox said.... "its imperial issue"...or, if they aren't being annoying, and seem genuine about the question, i tell them there are certain members in the legion that vac-form the pieces into a kit and then each member trims and builds the kit to their specs. It omits "bought" from the equation...just in case
  11. Hey Terry! Welcome back! I remember you joined around the same time i did I actually just sold off my TK to move onto more comfy costumes lol
  12. Nice job on the boots Ian! ..and hey if that paint holds up on the guards, thats great too! Nice work bud!
  13. Remember to measure twice, or 3 times, and cut once! Thats always sound advice! I think ther armor you chose is great for your build and you'll be just fine. It is daunting at first, but once you get into the swing of it, its really not too bad. I always attach the fronts of the shins, thighs, forearms, and biceps first then its easy to adjust the rear to fit. Unless you are super built, that method should work for ya.
  14. Not a problem PGHToolman and MightyTank! No i dont mind at all C! The ears are always a pain in the butt, and i figured this could help a lot of folks, regardless of the helmet make Hey staff...can we pin this?
  15. You can get in, but like Gazmosis said, im pretty sure it only gets you basic approval at this point in time. If you want to go to EIB or Centurion, you would need something more accurate, but not necessarily more expensive.
  16. Seems to work for me as well from Firefox.
  17. So sad to hear this. Giger was a huge inspiration to me art wise, and his Alien design still to this day i feel is the best most original creature design EVER. Been hearing about his passing all day, and still cant believe he is no longer with us. May he R.I.P. he will be greatly missed.
  18. Ok so now thats thats over lol... these greeblies are available for $25 plus shipping. If you are overseas, i recommend getting in touch with Tango'd Fett for his as he is in the UK and would save you on shipping
  19. i will have some cat hair ready Walt!
  20. yep thats what i was talking about! i want it to have the seam there, but i need to figure out how to work in the thickness of a standard PVC pipe since that is what most people use for these. I have an idea that will most likely work, i just need to find a tube just slightly thinner O.D. than the PVC pipe
  21. OoOo nice one Vern, thats a Bapty! I eventually want to make kits for this version. Just trying the figure out the best way to do the rear portion.
  22. ugh. what a ..douche. So Mark, what are the ANH ones like compared to ROTJ? I think i should get a set for my RS "Move Along" helmet. I spent so much time getting every detail right, it seems silly to NOT have these.
  23. good lord. just good lord. i want. This is awesome Aaron!
