  1. I bought a pair of caboots a few years ago before they got so expensive. I really liked them because the boot was taller. Just got a pair of tk boots and they are actually a bit taller, and of course more accurate. -----------
  2. Great work! Looks perfect,a lot of good info here.
  3. I don't think it's in the CRL, butt joint method is alittle more work and definitly worth it. Just take your time. Start with the biceps.
  4. Congrat's on EIB You look Great!!
  5. Looks like a good fit. It's always hard to tell from pic's. You can tell if it's to tight by flexing your arm muscles, like your taking off your helmet. Just make sure your comfertable. Also dont go with strips smaller than 13mm. I am not 100% sure on this, but I think 13mm is the minimum i would go.
  6. Look's nice! The suit fit's you very well. You could put a tiny bit of gloss white paint on the ammo knee details. The elastic on the bells will keep them from flopping around, Well Done!
  7. I would leave the ear as it is, these kits arn't perfect and you got it close enough. Trim the teeth out a little more, Looking Goood
  8. Looks fine! What are you not satisfied with?
  9. Hey Jared, The left ear actually sits a bit lower than the right, so you got it just right Check out starwarshelmets.com it's a great reference for finishing your helmet
  10. e6000 is easy to remove, just gently pry open the joint. once you get it started it will come of pretty quick. This glue does not fuse the pieces together, it's kind of like silicon, you can just peel off the residue. That's what make this stuff so forgiving.
  11. Great job so far! I just completed a ata build and being slim too,I had to make the arm pieces thinner. I used a 1/2" or 13mm cover stip on the arms. Also trimmed off more of the shelf for the cover strip off too. I can see you left some of this on the parts. You will only need a 1/4 inch of the shelf on each piece to use a 1/2 " cover strip. Here's a pic of my arm parts
  12. I am no pro, but wait till you get the boot's. The boots will raise the shin armor and then you can raise the thigh pieces, the gap will be smaller
  13. Well you are going to raise the chest piece just a bit higher, so everything works out. Assemble the upper armor so it fit's you before gluing the shoulder bridges, that way you will have a better idea of their placement. here are a few pic's
  14. Jesse has a good idea, I had bought a kit and some of the pieces were over trimmed. So i had to improvise. You can do it like this pic, just no bondo. Since you are using abs it's easy!
  15. Being taller, you may have to lower the back piece a bit. I am 6' 2" also. Just keep adjusting to find the right look. Here's what mine looks like. The split between the kidney and butt plate, you can cheat alittle bit there with a small gap. Hope this helps
  16. Looks amazing! All the details, right down to the painted hand guards.
  17. Looking good, I would repaint the black dots on the ab plate french blue. You could resize the biceps for a better look, tho this should not affect EI. the helmet looks nice.
  18. Love the helmet, looks like you nailed the look. This pvc is looks super glossy, how is it compared to abs.
  19. congrat's on your up coming build! ATA comes with plenty of xtra abs, so don't worry.
  20. Don't v shape the cover strip keep the same size, if the only way the thighs will only fit is with a 2" cover strip then that's it. I would stick with e6000 glue, it more forgiving if you have to take something apart.
  21. That's great I am glad the pic helped. I trimmed the return edge off bottom the biceps as well , especially if they are too snug. You can also glue the thighs closed, front and back. When you wear the armor, just put the thighs on, then your boots. To be safe tape the thighs together like you did the other parts, and test fit just to make sure you can get your foot through. Sounds like you got it sorted out.
  22. Trimming this area will make the armor more comfortable
  23. Also be sure to trim away the return edge on the forearm at the wrist, this will make it easier to get your hand through.
  24. Looks like a great fit, right out of the box. Keep the pic's coming
  25. Wow your almost done!Looks great. How do the armor part halves line up? Did you have to heat them up or anything.
