  1. That could make a really sweet shadow trooper for sure!
  2. Breathability is incredible! Grip? You can hardly take them off once you have them on! Actually they will be fine as I'm used to wearing rubber gloves with my TD; they don't fit my hands at all — I have Irish thumbs — and so it's like wearing some oversized gloves. These (i.e., the satin ones) fit great and give me a lot more control over what I can pick up. For $14 bucks though — it was $7 for the gloves that much for shipping too — I can afford to get another pair and put some dabs of black latex on the finger tips if I need to. Of course, if I did that, I'd have to have a 2nd pair of TM's hand plates... but that's not a big deal either. Hope that helps!
  3. Like Michael said, "Slow and steady." If it's a choice between getting to wear your armor next week to meet George Lucas for a special luncheon between just you and him or missing that because you took one more day to wait on a question to be answered you just couldn't find the answer to, choose the 2nd option. You will be much happier in the long run!
  4. First off, congrats on the big brown box! I see you have a cat, they are very helpful during this process! Jumping ahead to the gloves, the only thing that will stick to rubber gloves is silicone. So if you want Velcroâ„¢ on them you'll need to get the kind that's not got self-adhesive on it and then glue it onto the gloves with silicone. Then put the self-adhesive kind on the backs of the plates (which you already have) and you should be good to go. MY recommendation is get a set of Karin's hand guards. Now onto the armor... yes, be petrified. You will probably pretty much ruin your first 2 or 3 sets completely. Don't worry. It's only money. And I'm kidding. You'll do great man! Just dive in! I wouldn't use the 'instructions' very much. Ralph Hinkley actually had it good when he lost the instructions. Use the FISD instead! Read, search, search again, read again, and ask questions! Looking forward to the build!
  5. And if you're going from EIB to Centurion one day keep in mind Hasbro blasters aren't accepted for Centurion.
  6. Lookin' good! Got the "chip" in the eye and everything!
  7. Got my gloves today... they are excellent! -----------
  8. Now... the important thing... can you do the weird voice.
  9. Wow! That's fantastic man... I love those pictures!
  10. I'm surprised people notice that fast! Quick people, quick!!
  11. Thanks all! I'm honored and happy to be here. Now... where did I put all that extra time to work on stuff? Hmmmm....
  12. I know it's required for EIB, but I'd read what TM (and others) say here on my build about the side gap. Your gap looks like mine so, in other words, do something temporary for EIB and then remove it. Looks awesome though man!!!
  13. I missed where this turned into an ANH helmet. Looking good though man! Looking... gooooood!!!
  14. No offense meant by this brother, but it sounds like you're on the wrong forum. It's a bit like someone wanting to get a quick snack trying to track down Chef Gordon Ramsay's home phone number in hopes he will sell them a cheap hamburger. Just go to McDonald's. I think TrooperVenger is right... for what you're wanting to spend, and what you're wanting it for, you're just going to have to do with what you can. Good luck. P.S. My hope is you'll get "infected" by looking through pictures on the forum and end up doing a proper, well funded, TK suit and joining the Legion.
  15. "Excuse me while I whip this out..." ("Blazing Saddles" reference btw) Fun idea for sure though! I still want the cam in my bucket!
