  1. Welcome Chris. Looking forward to seeing your completed ATA TK kit build.
  2. Looking good so far. Soon you'll have a nice Winter trooping costume
  3. If you purchased the Anovos Classic Trilogy Classic Stormtrooper, it will also come with the undersuit, gloves, holster, and belt. Basically all the necessary costume pieces except the boots and E-11 blaster. The blaster is not required for costume approval, but what's a TK without a blaster?
  4. You can use the snowtrooper CRL that describes all the parts (soft and hard) that you need for your Snowtrooper. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TS_snowtrooper You should also head over to the 501st Blizzard Force Detachment at http://www.blizzardforce.com/forum/where you can get all the info you need to build a Snowtrooper.
  5. MLC also does Biker Scout and Tie Fighter helmets. I have 2 of his fiberglass Biker Scout helmets.
  6. Yeah. I was hoping you would do a TFA Stormtrooper WIP. Looking forward to seeing the thing come together.
  7. 50mm or 2 inch black elastic is what they used in the original, so I would go with that if you can.
  8. If you go to the company site, it states, "Sugru can be removed by cutting it off with a sharp knife." You basically have to cut it off if you want to remove it and it isn't reusable.
  9. Looking very good. Thanks for sharing your work and progress.
  10. Aaron, Wow. Really nice job. Thanks for sharing.
  11. On my ATA right forearm, I also cut one of the bottom raised sections and used a heat sealing iron to create a new flat section to butt against the other non-touched side and for the cover strip. Worked great.
  12. I got a little confused when I saw Phoenix Props in the title. Those that are familiar with the Royal Guard, Darth Vader, and other misc Star Wars costumes know of a Fenix Props in Argentina that makes helmets, robes, decals, and parts for those costumes. Phoenix and Fenix are pronounced the same and I was a little confused, but now I understand.
  13. bdgr is short for "badger". After graduating from the University of Wisconsin and moving to Ohio, folks started calling me badger, since it is the University's mascot.
  14. Yep. The mukluks run very large. I got 1 size smaller and I'm still swimming in them. It is even worse if you remove the wool inside boot liner. As Paul, said one thing you can do is put in "slippers" in them to get a better fit. I use water shoes like these-----------
  15. Elastic can be directly glued to the armor. This is a very pretty popular method for the elastic & hook calf armor closure strip. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19340-tms-anh-hero-buildtm/page-2 For underside armor snaps, you should use a small piece of ABS so that you have more surface to apply the glue. The snap & ABS piece will be a much stronger bond to the armor then just with the snap piece alone.
  16. Congrats! I really like the upgrades that you did on your hyperfirm blaster.
  17. Have you tried asking your helmet kit vendor if they have any detailed instructions? I know DA has them. I also know there are tons of detailed WIP Tie Fighter Helmets building threads on the Jolly Roger Squadron Forum. Just register and look under the Tie Fighter Helmet Section. Here are a few: http://www.jrs501st.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9305 http://www.jrs501st.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9086 http://www.jrs501st.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4619 Best of luck.
  18. Glen, Really nice job of getting your helmet smooth. Looks fantastic so far.
  19. Thanks for sharing your new flat shim cover edge tip. I know folks use a similar technique to create small bends in the belt and right thigh ammo piece, but might not have thought about doing it for a larger bicep or forearm piece. Another option if you have a sealing iron is to create one similar to how folks typically use them for new return edges.
  20. Definitely tone down the "brass" that is on your Hyperfirm. I don't know why they started to put so much gold paint on the scope. On the older hyperfirm blasters it was very subtle.
