  1. Yes, no point in perpetuating the "Imperial procurement flaws" we see in ANH.
  2. The knee plate is visible in the second image. I will check next time I play. Anyone know how to take a screen shot from within the game? I'm tempted to try the ol <shift + Print screen> key combo.
  3. I received my order without any problems late last week. Shipping was actually quite fast.
  4. I used a modeling iron to flatten out the area on the chest where the straps connect to the chest piece. This allows the two pieces to join together flat.
  5. Hi Joe, I have the same kit and re-started working on my armor after stopping several years ago. IMHO, it's good, solid armor (especially as a first armor). However, expect to do LOTS of trimming. I'm arranging getting help from some members of the detachment in my area to help me with the rest of my build (especially the trimming part). I'm 5'9" and 170lbs and needed to cut lots off of thighs, shins, forearms. The thing to remember is the cuts need to be proportional (meaning you need to cut from both halves of the parts). Good luck!
  6. BTW, absolutely love the reaction of Darth Vader and dancing Scout Trooper. Not sure if the two are related but makes a great shot!
  7. Hi Ray, I too have been struggling with my AM build. Did you get accepted? BTW, did you make any changes/mods to your shoulder bells? I find they look too large on me. Let us know.
  8. at least from making big blockbusters. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/22/magazine/george-lucas-red-tails.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all
  9. Was he one of the bouncers at the Korova Milkbar?
  10. We have a saying in my neck of the woods. "faut pas etre plus catholique que le Pape" Which translates stop trying to be more Catholic than the Pope. If the Hasbro works for you, fine! If the Hasbro doesn't work for you go the alternate route. I understand the quest to better oneself is a noble goal but to shove it down someone else's throat is elitist and unacceptable for something we do as a HOBBY. BTW, I'm sure many of you have seen Quebectrooper's Hasbro mod but for those who haven't http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=11033&hl=hasbro%20mod&st=60 Looks pretty damn fine for trooping.
  11. Yup, here it is. :-) BTW, been using iPhones from Day 1.

    iPad2...

Trench Run is pretty cool. I like flying the Tie fighters (ok, ok and the X-wing in the trench).

    iPad2...

OK. Let me weigh in here. Before we begin, for the record, I'm not an Apple fanboy. I've been in the computer field since 1980 (yup, that long). I've been into tablets since 1994 (Since my first Newton Messagepad). When Jobs killed off the Newton, I went to Windows CE and other tablets. I've owned some 20 tablets over the years. I currently still have Samsung, Fujitsu, and Motion Computing tablets (running different versions of Windows - tablet versions). I also bought the iPad last year. Of all the tablet devices I have mentioned, the Newton (especially the 2100 - last model) is by far the most useful. However, very close behind is the iPad which I use daily. As mentioned in a previous post this device is really meant to consume data (excellent point John) and it excels at data consumption. I rarely use my other tablets (unless for a special purpose) because the iPad is so darn easy and FAST!!! at what it does. Sure, some people may argue it's functionality is superficial (sort of a lite version of a real OS). Who cares? Most of the basic things people do with computers is lite work (think emails, web surfing, quick game playing, quick letter / note here and there). If you need to work on elaborate documents (spreadsheets, docs with tables, fancy presentations, etc...) then you use a laptop or desktop. If I want to play a serious game I get on my game rig with 4GB of RAM just on my video card. That happens once (maybe twice a week, if I'm lucky) otherwise a quick game of Plants Vs Zombies, iScopa (card game), or Star Wars Trench Run is more than sufficient (and satisfying). I've come to realize that waiting for technology is like waiting for a train. Sure you can wait for the next train, which may be faster and more comfortable. However, if you never board a train, any train, you'll never get to where you want to go. Do yourself the favor, buy the iPad, board the train and enjoy the ride. I just bought my ticket (iPad2) which is destined to arrive on the 22nd of April. Yay!!! Cheers!
  14. Mason, that is outstanding! Mike, Yup still newylweds! And they live in a rural area. Not much to do in winter in a rural area. Know what I mean? nudge nudge wink wink... I kid! I kid! Cheers!
  15. Just got an email reply from Pat. He's actually doing great! In his usual comic way he told me, "well i tried to commit suicide by jumping off Jacques Cartier bridge but i forgot that the suit was plastic which floats so it didn't work." Always the kidder. Cheers folks! Mike
  16. I recall him telling me a couple of weeks ago he was going to attend the St. Patrick's Day parade in Boston. He may be there now. Waiting for a reply to my email. Will keep everyone posted.
  17. In the CF (Canadian Forces) we used the SMG till about 18 years ago. That was the last time we went to the firing range to fire the weapon. Funny thing, no one like firing at the target. Instead we always aimed for the wooden target support structure. It splintered nicely under the spray of rounds. Very cool weapon. Had to be careful though because of it's very short barrel.
