  1. Thank you guys, I'm honored!!!!!
  2. I just discovered that I've been awarded with one FISD service medal and I'm flattered! Thank you guys! Can I ask for what precisely? ;p
  3. I used a black elastic, it's comfortable and invisible, you can use a white one if you want something more accurate. Since it's a delicate and narrow part I preferred not to weaken it by drilling holes, so I glued a snap plate on the inside just like on the rest of the armor. If you want total accuracy you go with the two visible snaps. The drop boxes were, well, boxes, so they were closed on the back. I'll suggest white elastic to hold them, so it can stretch a bit and not stress the belt. Yes, a black belt with black elastics to hold the thighs. The shins are held in position by the boots only, no strapping there. If I remember well it was all elastic, no webbing anywhere, right Paul?
  4. I think this is the best way. I used the same method and it rocks, lenses are perfectly installed and you can remove them easily to clean or replace.
  5. I'll search in my Latin dictionary as soon as I get back home.
  6. I have a 58cm head and I can wear my TM helmet with my glasses on. The left lens is a bit scratched, but once my head is in I have no problems at all.
  7. Exactly, I repainted mine with French Blue and it's much better. This is how it looked before:
  8. Since it's a delicate part I didn't want to weaken it by drilling holes, so I used snap plates as like in the rest of the armor, and connected them with a piece of elastic. This way I can easily change the length or the elastic itself if it wears out. If you experience butt-pinching problems you want a loose one.
  9. It's awesome to see all those shiny TMs........ I want to troop with you someday!!! And that corridor... it must have been a BLAST!
  10. That's the old template, now you want to keep 1/2" instead of 1 1/4" on the left and right of the "V" cut to better match the screenused ones
  11. Wonderful! I'd paint the frown a little more, you don't want to see the holes, like this:
  12. THIS. IS. IT. Awesome Paul, this is going to be the best and most screen accurate armor EVER. You've done it again. And I want one. Remember that this time I'm the first on the list. Damn, I just finished my TM!
  13. I say RT too: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/bingo275/imperialfanRTmod.htm
  14. I'm almost 5'9" and 150 pounds, thin physique. Well done Pete, awesome build Now I need my ID to present my EIB submission too! Coming along, mate!
  15. http://cgi.ebay.it/Star-Wars-ANH-Stormtroo...%3A1%7C294%3A50 The price is ridiculous, seems a TE2 recast to me, it says "1,5 mm HIPS", but seems way thinner... Someone knows the guy? The name "Piratetrooper" says a lot...
  16. I am, and I adjusted the color balance, but since I'm a bit colorblind the color correction is my Photoshop weakness...
  17. Here's how I did it: a piece of black elastic with two snaps, and attached to that the smaller elastic+snap for the shoulder bell and the white elastic to keep the ribbed abs strip down. Simple, effective and comfortable
  18. Hi troopers, in the struggle of squeezing my ROM/FX and micro speakers for maximum volume I found out that what is missing is a resonant chamber to pump it up. You can try with yours: close partially the mic tip opening with your finger and you hear the bump in volume. What I did is cut a small strip of thin clear acrylic and install it just behind the speaker grill, like this: This creates a small resonance chamber and the side gaps let the sound out. This increases some frequencies and focuses the sound on mids, making the voice more "annoying", but definitely more intelligible and loud. Since the strip is clear, once installed it's almost invisible, here's the result: Try different sizes until you find the best frequency and volume bump. I suggest these speakers paired with Stomper Hovies for best results.
