  1. The ammo pack is actually thin enough to bend without heat.
  2. Welcome to the build world! Nice job on that bucket so far!
  3. There is no concrete measurement. Just trim it just beyond the mag lock clip on the back...an inch past
  4. Hey Greg! Thank you for your Centurion application. I know you made some changes to your Centurion application from your EIB application to properly represent your armor. You have successfully done that. CRL Requirements: All photo submissions have been presented and required armor elements are present. With that, I want to congratulate and welcome you to Centurion!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: I know that the straps holding your drop boxes slip out occasionally. Personally, I think they cut the notch out of the wrong side. I think it should be notched out at the belt rivet between the canvas belt and plastic belt not the ab button so they can be fully moved to the end and stay there. perhaps you could notch that out or put a couple stitches in the belt to keep them in place if it continues to be an issue. Nice re-paint of the ab buttons!! Now get out there and rock your Garrison, trooper!!!! You will make them proud! .
  5. Flush to the armor as possible or it will hinge out of control You can also glue the bottom of the thigh to the inside of the power pack
  6. Anyone else notice the pillow cases??? Zoekoner is re-doing several of his submission photos to include some new full body shots and shots of required details. His application should be complete soon. By they way....if you mix up some Elmers all purpose glue and water, then dab it on the edges of the belt, this will reduce if not stop the fraying all together without taking away from the look.
  7. Looks outstanding. Sometimes less is more. You have controlled your feelings!!!
  8. Locitus speaks wise words. A Corvette is only cool if you know how to drive it. MTK is a great armor and is quickly climbing to a spot on my favoties list. Although MTK shares the same base molds as ATA and the old CAP armor, he has been making slow but certain improvements to upgrade the accuracy. He has a great product and is great to work with. The above pictured armor is NOT MTK.
  9. This just astounding considering your self proclaimed lack of tool resources!!! Well done as usual, Sir!!!
  10. Hey Dave: As Tray posted, we can't really get a feel for where you are at by one picture. There are so many aspects of the costume that we look at in order to get a complete feel, we need a complete look. Take closer shots of sections of your armor and we will go from there. Front, sides and back.
  11. I like how you toned down the color fill. Well done overall!!
  12. Hey Jen: When the CRL refers to "front" it means the wrist side of the forearm. There is considered to be a wrist side and an elbow side. The wrist side needs to be clear of ALL return edge even up into the ridge that the cover strip sits on. Here is the pic of your forearm:You can see the ample return edge above your handguard. Below is a great example of "no return edge".Thanks again. Any other questions, Don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help you look your best. I can;t wait to see your Centurion application!!
  13. This has been recently discussed. The full doopy kit is capable of supporting your genuine folding stock I assure you. As you saw, there are modifications that need to be done because of the thickness of the main receiver. Which leads to your desire to have a moving bolt. I can tell you right now that the thickness of the main body of the full Doopy kit will make that close to impossible unless you bore the entire receiver out evenly. If you want the bells and whistles blaster, I would go for the pipe build. You can get acrylic tubing that matches the specs of the real Sterling receiver perfectly. I built one and I love it. I'm not gonna tell you it's an easier way to go. You will need to source T-tracks, a scope and counter. You will need to cut out all the openings based on the templates available here. The acrylic is a little brittle so you will need patience. Because of the lack of body, nothing can be threaded into the acrylic like the resin of the Doopy kit. Avery good adhesive or screws must be used. But if you want ultimate accuracy, I believe that's the way to go.
  14. Hey Jen: Thank you for your application for EIB! The MTK armor is REALLY growing on me lately. The changes MTK has made (new Therm Det, new rivet covers, no cover strip ridges on biceps, no cover strip ridges on thigh backs, has gone a long way to improving the accuracy. Kudos to your build! Fantastic! Let's look at your armor!!! CRL Requirements: All required submission photos are present. Yes...your "action" shot is priceless. Your application and armor meet all requirements for EIB. This was an easy pass. Congratulations and welcome to EIB!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: There are a couple of things that can be done to hone the overall look of your armor. None of the following items will affect any application results. First is regarding your blaster. Hyperfirm has always been a little enthusiastic regarding the weathering on their blasters especially on the scope. There has never been a scope that has showed that much gold. I would hit that with a little black to knock that down some. I was curious as to your decision to yellow the inside of the mic tips??? The next thing I wanted to bring up was the stripes on your helmet tubes. Trooperbay sets these on the decal sheet according to the side of the helmet they are to be applied to. You have them on backwards. You can tell this by looking at the stripes closest to the frown. The "Dave M" tube stripes are not in a perfect line. The bottom most ones are actually off set and angle away from the frown. Yours angle TOWARDS the frown. Since yours are decals, the fix is easy. Just lift the bottom two on either side and offset them to angle outward instead of inward. Bobby's helmet in this picture shows this. His stripes were the same as yours and he did the correction. It is subtle but more correct for that set of decals. A trooper had expressed a note regarding the thickness of your drop boxes. Some are thicker than others. Yours are not overly thin. The final point is a mention regarding your side rivets. Painting them would improve the overall look of your armor though it is not required. Centurion Suggestions: You have definitely gone beyond EIB in your build. It would surprise me if you didn't apply for Centurion because many of the aspects of your build follow Centurion requirements. There are, however, a few things that will need to be updated should you go down that path. Chris had mentioned about only one ear bar being painted for Centurion and he would be correct. You will need to change out your gloves and handguards to rubber, your drop boxes need to have backs boxes inserted (maybe they already do, I can;t tell) and your forearms need to have ALL the return edge trimmed out of the wrist opening. Congratulations again!!!! Well done!
  15. I vote for your paper dabbed. Brilliant!!
  16. Killer job on your guild so far! I would still consider trimming out your teeth to be more square. There is sill a bit more that can be taken out of the outside edges of the eyes as well.
  17. Love your mods so far!!!!
  18. Saw that too, Lion. After a couple looks, it's her forearm on the other side.
  19. Vern beat me to this suggestion.
  20. Thank you for the complete follow-up, Manny! Congratulations on your EIB pass for your Hero armor! I used 24 guage wire from a hobby store for my t-track wires. I am not sure if that what was originally used but it looks close. For clarification, Thank you for submitting the Hero handplates but due to the fact that Han wore one of each and Luke wore Stunt ones, "hero" handplates are no longer recognized as a required aspect of the "Hero" armor.
  21. Hey Manny: Thank you for updating the clarification! As I suspected, they are blue but it needed to be clear. I would like to congratulate you for your EIB award!!!! You will make your Garrison proud!
  22. Hey Manny. Thank you for your submission for EIB Hero!!! Let's look at your armor!! The TM armor you have is suited perfectly for you!! IT looks like every part was custom fit to you. Very nice!!! CRL Requirements: I am aware but all who read this need to be aware that you have applied for both EIB Hero AND EIB Stunt in different threads. When making an application for a specific costume, ALL photos submitted for that costume must show the required aspects of the costume applied for. Although many of the aspects of your "Stunt" and "Hero" suits are the same, if a photo needs to show a requirement for that costume, that photo needs to be present. Please change out the following pics that might cause confusion: Close up of left side (two holster attachments showing instead of 4), Close-up of hovi tips ("Stunt" frown instead of Hero frown showing) Also, I realize and think it's really cool that you incorporated the DLT-19 into this costume. However, you are including the E-11 as well because it is pictured in your holster. This requires the proper photos to be posted showing the proper details of the E-11. This is such an awesome set of armor. Sometimes, the applications points are just as important as the armor itself. Especially when it comes to the "Hero" armor and its differences to the "Stunt" armor. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly I really have nothing to add here. Such a great job! Just for my and others' curiosity....did you get a whole additional canvas AND ammo belt or did you make them interchangeable? Centurion Suggestions: Make certain your photos are in line for this! My only suggestion, though not a requirement to pass, would be to add the t-track retaining wires to your DLT-19. This would just add one more level of awesomeness to your costume.
