No Germain....flat and matte are not the same. Satin would be closer to matte.
-
Actually, the vocoder should be matte black which is half way between gloss and flat. Nice paint work so far Darren. There is something you are going to want to fix. The vent lines on your rear traps should not all be parallel to each other. The pattern of the lines should also be a trapezoid.

Just make sure if you reference build threads from here you look at "AM" build threads or Armor Master. What you have is the original AM molds with a new name.

Now that I have a better look at the helmet, you might want to extend your frown a bit. If you look at the photo references for the ANH frowns, the paint stops at the indent for the fifth tooth then continues past it ending at a fine point. Yours seems to end AT the fifth tooth.

It is not an RS recast. It is the TE2/CAP/ATA armor lineage with a different cap for the helmet. Whoever it is, it is recasted. Whatever armor that doesn't come from here we have no idea if the armor/seller is reputable or not.

Just curious if you intended on locking the scope rail into the inner tube? Your attention to detail and precise measurements helped you with the rail's construction. I am surprised that you took that approach, though. I thought you would have made the front bend first, then trimmed it to fit between the uppers of the rear sight using that forward pressure to lock it into the top vent hole. Looking great! The crinkle finish really came out awesome!

TK - 60366 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status[122][RS]
gazmosis replied to HawkFan24's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hey Matt: Thank you for applying for Centurion! I kind of expected you to . Let's take a look at your armor!! CRL Requirements: All required photos have been posted: Application format is correct. Your armor is outstanding. A real pleasure to look at. I am thrilled that you went back and trimmed your sides down to make those seams line up better and place your side hardware at that 10mm distance from the seam. I KNOW you are please with how it looks! Now get out there and WOW your Garrison with your Centurion armor! Welcome and congratulations!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: It is a very good thing that you decided to put that little bit of forearm return on your "to trim" list. Centurion is about the details, however small. That small bit of return that Germain pointed out is necessary to have totally removed. And you did it!!Well done!! -
Looking dynamite!

You realize this is a Stormtrooper based site, right? If you are asking a question about stormtrooper versions of the characters you mentioned, they would not be approved and would not be supported at 501st events.
-
Since you are doing a Sterling based blaster, I would probably redo your front sight. This is so much different from the original I would be afraid of basic approval. Good luck to you! Keep up the good work!

TK 70701 requesting ANH Stunt Centurion status[121]
gazmosis replied to Oztrooper's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hey Jeff: Thank you so much for your application to the Centurion Program. As you know, Centurion is about the details; both in your armor and the application. It was a nice touch to let us see your armor(and you) in action. Well done on all accounts. CRL Requirements: All required photos have been posted. Your armor is outstanding. I would like to point out again your fantastic work of incorporating the shims almost seamlessly into the sides. I don;t know if I have seen nicer ab buttons than yours. Great job! Your Garrison should be proud! With that I would like to congratulate and welcome you to Centurion!!!!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Ok...put a blaster to my head to find something that could be adjusted. The only thing are the corners on your waist ammo belt could have a tiny bit more taken off. Not that it will affect your application but I thought I'd mention it. this is an example of what I mean. Other than that, It was a pleasure to look over your armor. Congratulations again! -
ANH E11: M38 vs. M19 preference?
gazmosis replied to thederek's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Stay away from the a2's. M-38's pop all the time. Be patient. M-19's are always more expensive. By a long shot!! -
You could mask it, too.

The male snaps are drilled and secured right through the cod. As for the drop box thickness, they should be right around 3/8 - 1/2 inch total thickness. And it is normal.....armor trumps all!!
-
I backed up a bit thinking maybe you had other plans. I have just seen so many others doing the same thing lately I wondered if I was missing out on something. Your approach is good. Just make sure not to leave the black edge too thick. Remember, it is a pinstripe outline. Look at the screen used helmet reference pics above to see. Oh...don't drink any coffee or coke prior to painting that edge. A Yanni CD in the background helps, too.

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/40-sterling-l2a3-mk-4/ Hey Haui! What an adventure you have begun!! Mixing electronics is one thing, but topping that off with a scratch build is a REAL challenge!! You've done some fine work so far. there are a few items that I would make changes to before you get too deep into this build. Perhaps you are just doing this blaster as a project, I don't know. Will you be building a Stormtrooper in the future and using this as your weapon? If you are, I would take a look at the link I provided so you can do some comparisons to the real Sterling. Your T-tracks on the front could use some trimming down. You have some good talents! I'm sure the adjustments won't be too difficult for you.

I am sorry for the hijack...but if the black is a miniscule outline, why paint SO much black????? Or are you going to mask off the black and airbrush all the gray details?

My First Armor Build Thread ANH-S CAP Armor.
gazmosis replied to Stormy1992's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Bryan: don't do the 5 tooth frown unless you have two buckets. Basic approval will be based on the 4 tooth frown -
That is because they are. Remember, for the exception of RS Props and Troopermaster, no other armor available has the exact shape of the screen used thighs. Some come close on the right thigh but fall short on the left. These armors come close because of having some screen lineage. the thighs of your NE armor are still the Armor Master thighs which have NO screen lineage.
-
I am standing and applauding!!
-
The thigh pack does not heed to centered.
