  1. Thanks guys for the kind words, I helped 3/4 of the fireteam on the kits in one way or another. It helps that the guys liked how we look, so when we help them put there kit together they look as accurately as possible. So in turn we have a whole bunch of accurate and great looking troopers no matter there body size or shape or length. One of out troopers is 6'3 and the shortest is 5'7 ranging from 160 to 220. as far as we know Lord Vader has not seen this picture and since this is a TK forum he probably won't:)
  2. July 20th our third D-backs day, this time we decided we needed the fireteam to show up in force. we got 14 members to show up and in the process got three to sign up for the team.
  3. Yes sir we got three DT and hopefully we can get more people to do this.
  4. Thank you sir, this is it's maiden voyage and I got a little help from two other DT!
  5. Just got approved today, I am now a member of the dead team, now to start a death trooper fire team. Since there are already three death troopers in the DSG I think that is a great start!
  6. Wow that thing is ugly, I love the Tk armor and I love making the kids happy. This thing would make me throw up if I saw it in person, please don't do it. It is not that you aren't talented enough to do it, I have your clone armor and love it. I just think you can rock out any number of cool characters don't waste your time on this FX reject!
  7. Nice! I like the subtle just-turned scars and look of it. Fresh. I have been in the army for 15 plus years and I embrace, slow is smooth and smooth is fast, and also less is more. I really didn't want the torn up look and wanted the EIB feel and wear but the death look. Wicked! When this costume was first proposed I was quite leery of it, but we've had so many excellent builds that it kind of grows on one, doesn't it? Well done It also took me awhile before I decided to do a death trooper, but once Neils decided to do one and his turned out so well, then I was all in. He did a smashing job on his and hit a homerun with mine, I am very pleased and can't wait for it's debut this weekend at PCC con.
  8. I might get Neils to make me a zombie half face I can glue on the front, so it looks more like a zombie and not a very dirty beat up sand trooper.
  9. Thank all of you I just put together a B-grade ATA and Neils did all the hard work. I have done enough kits in the last few years that I can put one together with the help of one guy in about forty hours. Which part are you going to us, just wondering?
  10. Still waiting for the approval then I will send them to you unless you want them now?
  11. Thank you sir my buddy Neils got me to get a spare TK and destroy it, I built his and mine and he did all the painting and aging on both. It is his skills that helped me pull of this build.
  12. Just finished my death trooper and put it up for the LMO's to approve it. I found a EBAY set of B-grade armor so I decided to give it a proper burial. I put it together using EIB standards and strapping, I then did all the damage to it and had Neelz's do his dirty work and paint it up to look like it is decayed. So once I figure out how to post up my pics then I will show you guys. I used to be able to do it with Photobucket but I can't do it anymore. any help would be nice.
  13. I am having the same problem and can't figure it out either.
  14. The plate on the fx/ jedi robe does not come off you would have to cut it off, and then there is no telling if the armor colors would be a direct match if you did get the TM plate.. Go to getting started and tutorials and how to and that will help you to understand how to make a lot of this stuff that you can buy. when I first did EIB and Centurion I bought all the stuff for it, now I make everything and when I help a new member put there armor together I use the stuff I make. If you do enough research you can find all this stuff and buy it or make it yourself a lot cheaper. You can make your own thermal det clips, canvas belts, neck seals, brackets to screw together your ab, chest, back, kidney plate and butt plate, bicep clips, and finally shin clips. Not to mention I make my own fans for my helmets and I buy in bulk the split rivets and screws for the brackets. FX is ok armor but if you are within 5'10 or a few inches either way and 165 or plus or mines 20 pounds then TM, RS, ATA would fit and look so much better. If you are more than that then RT-mod would fit you fine probably without shims. I am just saying you are spending all this money might as well look better than the bobble head and way to big chest and back look. Most bystanders won't notice but after awhile you will notice and will want to change to more accurate armor, I made the mistake and got FX after less than a year I saw a garrison member in AP armor. I got one and have not looked back since, I try and tell all the new guys in my garrison to stay away and get better more accurate armor, especially if they are to small for the armor.
  15. I like the scratch built but it takes way to long to build compared to a full resin.
  16. I would trim off some on the top of the thigh and then make a new return edge and then trim off some on the bottom of the shin. That should give you more room to walk and probably climb stairs. When I help new members put together there kit I have them walk up and down my stairs once they can do both without getting armor bite then I know they can walk normally ad have the right amount of black showing in the knee area.
  17. When I painted my tube strips I tape the template down and then traced the outline of the tube stipe.I then took off the template and hand painted the template with a brush trying as much as I could to stay within the lines. I painted the tube stripes twice the first time lightly and then the second time more heavily. I then let the paint dry and with a tooth pic carefully removed any excess blue paint and cleaned the lines up so they were straight. I have done the tube stripes both ways with the template down and painted the stripes and my way and I feel it is easier and much cleaner. I had messed my AP helmet up and I just sanded down the tube stripes then polished the cheek tubed where I sanded and then repainted on the stripes and no one was the wiser.
  18. I use a helper but I can put everything on myself. but the shoulder bell snaps and the canvas belt Velcro and the thermal det. I have the undersuit on first with the neck seal, then the thighs, boots, and shins. Once I put the body clam shell on I have the cod piece already snapped. I step through body and put it on being careful with the shoulder straps not scratching my neck and face. Then I snap the side and then the shoulder. I put the arms on then have a helper snap the shoulder bells then secure the canvas belt and lastly the thermal det. It takes getting used to but it is way easier than trying to snap the cod while you have everything on or have a helper snap it for you. Most people don't want to do it. Once I finish building armor for people I always show them how to properly put on the armor and the order of what goes on first. I always make them step through and I have not had anybody have any trouble doing this method.
  19. The shims are only for EIB and if you put them in correctly nobody will be able to see them as shims.
  20. Fire team desert storm checking in so far after less than a month in and four troops. Not all troopers have trooped yet but we are just starting so far Michael Culp 2 events Keith Griggs 3 events Gabe Ross 3 events Rick Ferguson 3 events TK-1636 Michael Culp TK-4912 Tim Fergestad TK-5224 Andrew Meshel TK-9113 Jeffrey Gilliam TK-9492 Isaac Irvin TK-10016 Rick Ferguson TK-13031 Gabriel Ross TK-41269 Josh Hamano TK-6657 Keith Grigg TK-10022 Howie Waldren
  21. I only used 10 snaps for my TK, but I also used the metal brackets because I don't like the snaps to attach the chest to ab and the back to kidney. Two for the shoulder bells, two for the canvas belt, two for the butt plate, and one for the right side clam shell closure for the ab plate. I also used seven split rivets and two cap rivets, just like they did during filming.
