  1. I would do that if i was you i might even do this to mine after the premier.
  2. Thank you sir, and i still have three kits not on display for lack of mannequins.
  3. Congrats brother, now to help me get the other guys to take pictures and submit their kits.
  4. Thank you sir, i just looked through your build and i am amazed. You did a great job i was thinking of cutting out all the decal indention's but it is not my kit so i left them in instead. When i did my shoulder bell strapping all i did was cut two one inch grooves for the nylon and then right in the middle i cut out a slot for some extra one inch aluminum strap i had extra. i also reinforced the area with alot of abs paste. I will have to take some pics and show the inside off later.
  5. Now the all the armor buffed out, strapped and put on my mannequin. I also forgot to mention i did not use any of the decals i hand painted all of mine and then cleared the whole kit then buffed it out.
  6. Now all the finished pieces, be advised i used Krylon white gloss and Krylon gloss clear. I did not like how the Rustoleum turned out so i vowed never again to use it, i think this paint job turned out 10X better.
  7. Finally up for a breath after alot of sanding painting and buffing, i still need to take it to my buddies house so his son can try it on and i can make sure everything fits good.
  8. Almost done painting, i am getting ready to shoot the clear next. I am so tired of sanding, the painting is easy but the sanding sucks. Now i remember why i don't like mine and it sits in a box in the closet!
  9. Yes i saw that also, we will call him new order bobble head!
  10. This was just a test fit once the painting is done then we will be putting in foam on all the arms and leg pieces.
  11. I have the special privilege to help out a DSG member and put together his TFA kit. I was not happy with how big the kit fit me and i did not like the anovos gaskets. this time around i am cutting down the armor to better fit Max, he is 5'10 and about 140. I had to downsize the ab plate, butt plate, chest, arms and legs. I wish i could have done this with mine, i also used abs paste to better strengthen all the seams, it bends without cracking so far. i also plan on using kyrlon paint instead of rustoleum, i found out once i got my helmet at C& that the armor looked way better. So if i have to i will repaint the helmet to better match the paint. I plan on doing three coats of primer and nine coats of white with nine coats of gloss. i will be putting on three coats a day let it dry for 24 hours and then sand it down and spray three more coats. i have found out after painting many buckets over the years that this helps get rid of imperfections in the paint.
  12. I say you can do just about anything to the old Tk and the new TFA. I have been doing this to the old TK's for many years so i decided that i should try this on my friends kit. I wanted to do this to mine but i did not have enough time to comple this for C7. i am 5'10 175 and max is about the same height but only 140. He fits into his C3PO no problem. I cut down the ab plate, butt plate, arms and legs. I think it looks good just need to finish with the bondo sanding and then final paint.
  13. So finally took a minute from my TFA build to get back into my DT. I have gained a couple of pounds since i started this project, so i need to get back into shape. At least i was able to tug my self into it tighter so here it goes... Also changed out the lenses as i have many spares i think these are more green.
  14. Roger i will suit up and post some pics shortly, and thank you everybody for the kind remarks. I owe all the kudos to my dsg buddy Niels for his excellent painting skills, i just put the armor together.

  16. Thank you guys and Gazmosis for all the advice, i will be ordering new under armor pants as we speak. I will also be doing new pictures for my Centurion application, truth be told i have been done with this kit for some time i was just waiting for my painter to add more blood and to get the centurion latex hand plates. My next goal is to get my other fireteam members to start putting in for their EIB and centurion applications.
  17. I never noticed that my logo was that visible.. I'm getting a better under-armor set. I did not do the weathering, but buddy did it, but I put everything else together..

  19. This was fun to build Mike, to bad we can't put her in for centurion. all she needs are the rubber gloves and latex hand plates. I am really impressed with walts skills at down sizing this for kids. i found this just as accurate as the full size kits.
  20. Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing!
  21. I cut both top and bottom and i made a new raised edge on both, it would be impossible to glue the two side together without the raised edge. i would only do this if the forearm fits way to big and you have smaller arms.
  22. I cut mine down because the forearm were to big. Then i just made a new return edge and then glued a 15mm strip in and all done. I think it looks much better than having it way to big on my forearms. I just used a little bit of heat and bent them down with some pliers that i sanded the ends down to make the teeth flat. I don't think you can even notice even if i showed you in person.
  23. Keith are you talking about the FX chin piece?
