SolderMaster's RT-MOD Build[*RT]
Smitty replied to SolderMaster's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Man is this thread easily over looked for some reason or what? What a killer job you did on that blaster! Not everyday you see an RT Mod in the making. Lets get a 360 degree set of pics on that bucket too the latest and greatest RT Mod bucket! -
Man thats a real toss up because HIPS comes off the molds looking so tight and pretty. My main complaint with HIPS is that the paint yellows faster than unpainted ABS. Back in the day my painted HIPS helmet matched my ABS armor very nicely. No so much these days. Now that my primary armor is on a mannequin, I'm leaning towards an all HIPS suit or an all ABS suit.

Another hasbro E11 mod thread (ANH)

I picked up your T track today and will mail it out tomorrow. On that blaster tip I sent you, its really easy to dremel out the center so that when you look down the barrel you'll see darkness from inside the barrel instead of a glob of resin inside the barrel. It will look alot more realistic -
The VT helmet is an old TE recast actually its the old CAP1 molds. CAP2 molds were recast TE2. CAP2 molds are now in the hands of CAP-West. The way I heard it was VT provided CAP with the TE2 helmet to recast and CAP gave VT the CAP1 molds. Are you confused yet? I have seen VT armor up close and I think its some great looking armor. Not as glossy as my GF but great looking none the less.

In my defense the mannequin is about 4 inches taller than me so proportionally the arms were bigger. But yeah I am a skinny trooper. The padding I removed was in the forearms and biceps.

Good to hear it! Good luck with your sale you should have no problem getting rid of it.

Finally my TK display is finished. The costume itself has been complete for well over a year but I finally found a good looking mannequin to put it on via ebay. Details of the display are as follows: Helmet TE2 #32 Painted with Rustoleum High Performance Enamel Gloss White Hand painted frown and ear ranks with decals for the tube stripes and traps Not sure of the decals maker but the tube stripes are from Scott M. Hovi PA2 Mix Mic tips by Keith Body Armor Follano ANH ABS plastic Vader Dave's Ab Plate buttons TE2 shoulder straps painted with Rustoleum AP drop boxes Blaster CS1 E-11 My first custom built PVC pipe blaster with fully functional folding stock. It was originally sold on Ebay and later put back up for sale by the buyer. It was then purchased by my friend Jeremy from the Georgia garrison. When he received it it was in pretty rough shape. He sent it back to me for a complete refurbish. Additionally I upgraded the locking mechanism on the stock to match the later CS blasters from that run. It still belongs to Jeremy but resides with me. The only resin piece on the blaster is the Hengstler Counter I got from Dan at the now defunct Galactic Armory. Soft Parts Under armor is black 2 piece cotton spandex with built in zippered neckseal Canvas belt made by GundamZeppelin Faux Leather holster made by Bernard TK-8280 Boots are CAboots size 10.5 Gloves are Nomex flight gloves Mannequin Used 6 ft Male freestanding Egghead from ebay vendor easybuy2all who has a very nice selection of used mannequins at great prices. It took me approximately an hour and a half to get the mannequin suited up and I had to resize the armor to fit the mannequin and also remove some of the interior padding. Which means I can no longer wear the armor without redoing alot of work. But don't worry I'll get started on a new 501st costume soon. And don't worry I'm never leaving the TK community. I didn't clean up any of the armor as I feel that the dirt and scuffs only add to the display. I've done many troops in this armor and love it dearly. Thanks FISD for making a dream come true. Ok so now for the pics

This is a surprising situation. Unless there is more to the story I'm astonished that he won't replace the butt plate. Afterall it is only a single armor piece. One piece of plastic isn't worth a tarnished reputation. I know ATA once replaced an entire set of armor that was confiscated by customs. If you are unhappy with TM why not bite the bullet and get a new ABS butt plate from VT or AP and keep on chugging along. One bad experience is no reason to give up a dream. My 2 imperial credits.

TK 3066 Requesting EIB status, ROTJ[105][TE]
Smitty replied to Trooper Q2's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
That looks great bro! How about a close up of the blaster showing the greeblies? I have yet to see my greeblies on a finished blaster with a nice clear pic. It a shame that the only place that offers ROTJ TK boots is that maggot Star Fortress Productions. That new boot guy on the block should make those too, but I digress. -
get a longer neck. or maybe add a chin strap?
-
Ok the backwards writing has me puzzled. Does it mean that these plugs were taken from the same armor that TKcaleb received from TE instead of actual ROTJ suit? The only other option is that TKCaleb's suit is authentic screen used ROTJ. As I couldn't see TE sending someone screen used armor by mistake that would have to mean that the plugs in question were cast from TKCaleb's armor instead of actual ROTJ armor. That would also mean that these plugs are AT LEAST one generation from the mould's that GINO has. Still a nice set of plugs, and TKCaleb now has a very significant set of armor. Never a dull moment in the white plastic community.

the Ebay link in question is from a long time vendor. He's reliable but you would get a better deal with Deckard's AM armor.
-
Its always good to see someone trash talking TE, even on Ebay. Reap what you sow Matt. This is a good opportunity for someone with a vac table.
-
Don't ever store your CAboots with your underarmor. The under armor will wick up the smell of the boots and you will stink to high hell. I made that mistake at DragonCon09.
-
Yep thats VT armor too. Just without the VT helmet. It has an MRCE in place of the VT helmet. Just another example of costume junkie cutting corners to increase his profit margin. VT has good armor these days. I heard he was secretly a well respected member of the FISD, too bad he won't come forward.

I too have gotten parts from predalien64, very dependable, and nice quality!
-
I second that, very nice job on the conversion!!!

I saw the inflatable ones on ebay and wouldn't trust em. I did however order a fiberglass mannequin. Its not posable but its got a good neutral posture to it. It should arrive this week. expect a thread when it arrives. I only paid $104 shipped for it. Its a USED Mannequin from Flea Bay.
-
Yep that definitely looks nice. Plus being rubber that makes it more screen accurate than my plastic T track. No to mention this new found item is thicker than what I had which is more like the screen used. Excellent work!

Congratulations Paul, on your eight thousandth post!
Smitty replied to RogueTrooper's topic in Off Topic
I think there's a direct link with Paul's Ability to lead and the fact that in less than 4 years time this forum has become THE GOTO PLACE if you are into white plastic armor. Congrats Paul for the Foremost TK Costuming forum on the entire internet. -
I think its because the Airsoft Sterling SMG is about twice as much as an actual demilled sterling. Airsoft sterlings that I have seen for sale have been in the neighborhood of $1000. You can get them from the model gun company cheaper than that and they fire blanks.
