  1. And one more thing, wear a leather glove on the hand thats not holding the knife. Never try to make a clean cut. Always score and snap, its the safest and best method to use. A dremel is very handy for the ears. By shaving just a little bit at a time on the ears with a dremel with test fits between each shave you can make those ear gaps air tight.
  2. I could have sworn that I got a set of 3 bump hero ears from ATA when he first started pulling plastic. Those are some good looking ears John!
  3. Polyseamseal makes a good white high gloss caulk. check out home depot or Lowes to get a tube. Its in a squeeze tube and not a tube that goes in a gun. Its called Polyseamseal Ultra. It could save you the hassle of a repaint.
  4. Cloth handkercheifs and 2 part resin. Paint the inside with resin as it gets tacky stick down the cloth in strips then paint the cloth over with a generous layer of resin.
  5. If I'm trooping at a bar, I leave my armnaments at home. Besides its easier to cut the rug on the dance floor without a heavy E-11 in tow.
  6. A little warning on the Wireless Wally: The Cheap wireless kits that you find on ebay are on a VERY COMMON frequency. I was destroyed a couple years ago at dragonCon when I powered up my wireless system only to find that the hotel's elevator music was being transmitted on the same frequency. Since the hotel's signal was being broadcast at a higher power instead of my voice coming out of my chest it was tacky elevator music.
  7. The guy has a zero feedback rating. I would never in a million years send $800 to someone with a zero feedback.
  8. Because the world looks better thru green tinted lens. When I'm trooping I forget about all the rotten things going on in the world. The 2 minutes that I met a guy dressed up as Vader when I was about 5 years old is still in my memory 28 years later. Now i can do that for countless other kids. Who knows maybe one of those kids will get into costuming later and spread the love instead of manufacturing meth and spreading the sickness. Not to mention its a medically proven fact that chicks dig armor.
  9. Prolly the best move is to drill a hole in the resin piece about the same size as the shaft of the screw. If the hole you drill happens to be a little bit too large and the screw is loose a dab of glue on the screw threads will make it all better. Or if you have a tap kit, drill and tap a hole that match the screw threads and then just screw the screw into the threaded hole. Resin is easily machined like that. Just drill and tap slowly because it is plastic and high speed tools can do more melting than cutting if you get carried away.
  10. I'm not sure of the exact size but the bolts are allen bolts with bolt heads about a quarter inch in diameter.

    TK identify!

WAIT! That looks like my helmet! Or it could just be one that looks like mine
  12. More info on this guy: Gary Chaboya [email protected] Located in Covina California
  13. CAP West buckets rock, I have two
  14. 6 years ago narrows down the playing field. Soft pull on the face but a tight pull on the capnback. How long ago was Meatsock making helmets? The temple traps look well defined and I've been told Meatsocks tended to have a soft pull on the face plate and the capnback was always very tight pulls. I think Meatsocks may have been from AP buckets. I'm a little fuzzy on MS's because I just caught the tail end of them when I got into the hobby. Never seen one first hand.
  15. The inside of the helmet is also glossy which leads me to believe its actually ABS instead of HIPS as the seller claims. If its ABS then that could explain the softness of the pull. And its definitely from the TE blood line. Its currently going for over $150 I wouldn't give any more than that, thats for sure.
  16. To be honest there is no real benefit to sanding the armor before priming it. I only sanded the first one I ever built. As long as you use a good primer before painting you won't have anything to worry about. Attempting to paint without primer however is a recipe for disaster. Primer sticks to EVERYTHING well. Paint doesn't always like the surface its used on. Thats where primer comes into play. The primer sticks well to the plastic and paint sticks well to primer. Kinda look at it as the glue that holds the paint to the plastic. Also someone mentioned weather conditions affecting rustoleum paint. There's wisdom in that statement. The warmer and dryer the atmosphere the glossier and smoother the finish.
  17. Knee plates, drop boxes and hand guards I can understand...How the heck do you lose shoulder bells?
  18. Not surprising, Scott's a great guy! Way to go Scott!
  19. 4 shots of Jager, works every time.
  20. I'm disappointed with the situation. I noticed he has made his ebay feedback private; not a good sign. As a seller myself, I can understand getting behind and stuff. Heck I'm behind right now but i made significant catch up yesterday and today. I hardly ever have postage issues. This guy seems plagued with them. Case in point, If you can't make good on what you promise you will not succeed in this community as a seller. I guess his next step is to start a new ebay account and start over. If that happens then the deceit becomes obvious. Best keep a lookout.
  21. Happy B-Day to a guy that probably has the coolest Armor/Blaster combo in the known universe.
  22. Looks like a SFS to me. The vocoder is very sharp. Being late on orders is a common complaint with the seller. One guy was threatening legal action on the Dented Helmet forum. Not sure if it was ever resolved.

    TE armor

Have you considered getting a nice helmet and making the Rubies body armor up to snuff and going for a ROTJ look?
  24. Wow! Youre the only person I have ever heard of that had the patience to buff an entire set of matte HIPS armor to an ABS-like shine. Outstanding work you've done there.
  25. Sometimes he gets behind, There was a long wait for my Pulse Rifle kit but he made extremely good on it. Gave me a free Han Solo bust and a coupon for a free helmet or bust with my next order as well. Work with him, and be patient and I'm pretty sure he will take care of you.
