  1. Currently I am finishing up my ATA HIPS kit. Im pretty good at painting with spray paint but I cant get anywhere close to that coveted glossy look of the ABS. I wish I had gone with an ABS kit and could get that shine, paint just doesnt seem to come close, kinda frustrating. What does everyone think?
  2. You need to get in touch with TK-4510 (i think) aka Mike here on the FISD for the decals, use the search bar up top and search decals and it should be pretty obvious
  3. The backplate and chest plate look odd
  4. Thats my problem as well. Im a skinny dude so if I trimmed all my armor to fit it would look quite strange I think. So its a little loose, but I put some weatherstripping in the forarms and biceps for a tighter fit
  5. Yes, You want to make sure your overlaps face inward and not toward the outside of the armor, that way they are less noticable
  6. i also got a pair, but i returned them cause the toe was too sqaure for the TK. I thought they were good boots though
  7. Yeah, this was on the 501st Facebook page, very creative
  8. Well you can sand the bump down with some sand paper, but it is accurate. Nice job though on your lid! It looks like a completly different lid
  9. Whats up guys? Anybody got some good weathering tips? Im about done with the suit and working on paint currently. I was wondering what the advice from the experts here would be for weathing your suit/battle damage cause I think that it adds a new layer of realism to the armor, I have not 100% decided if I want to weather it and scar it up or let it occur naturally. Anyway let me know what you guys think i.e. techniques and tools to use, common places to get weathered stuff like that. Thanks
  10. Wonder who the bidders are???
  11. Ive seen this before, but it is quite frankly epic. Nature at its rawest, if thats even a word
  12. youre gonna be a busy man tom! lol lucky guy
  13. unless the hasbro looks accurate that is
  14. I think the chest plate in the first picture looks the best to me, the other one with more of a curve to it looks fx
  15. It looks like you have the correct ab plate for a TD and the correct knee plate as well. Hope that helps
  16. nice photoshop job bro! and what a great suit of armor!
  17. How about just getting a free set of decals?? *runs and hides* jk Mike. Cant wait to see what the new decals look like
  18. If you are talking abou the guy from SDS then you were not paying attention to what Brian said. Its not available to US customers due to lawsuits etc. I think you should really, really pump the brakes. You may be rushing into things and its usually not a good idea. First you need to sell your rubies on ebay if you dont want to do an ROTJ suit. Second you really need to spend A LOT of time reading the forums here and researching, most guys spend months on here before they even make a purchase. You need to educate yourself on armors, whats acceptable, the lawsuits that have gone on, everything. Also avoid ebay, seriously dont buy armor from there. Just take a breath and spend some time doing a little more research and you will be good to go. Also if you havent already, introduce yourself in the new memebers area, tell us about yourself and how you got into star wars
  19. Congrats man!
  20. Yeah, Ill make sure to put up a picture when Its cleaned up to show you guys how it finally turned out
