  1. Depends on how well your manners are, how big your pocketbook is
  2. im not gonna condone recasting THAT!
  3. it was tough not to but I knew it wouldnt fix anything. Ill post the picture when I finish the shin totally
  4. let me know if anyone figures how much itd be...
  5. Yes sir, that is what I plan to do, even tho it overlaps im putting strips on the back of both shins, so that little nasty area will be covered anyway, and the glue I used creates a really strong hold so Im not worried about it coming apart
  6. Today started out alright. Slept in till 1. Woke up and decided to work on my build. Almost done BTW. Anyway I was trying to carefully remove one of the strips from the back of the shins to move it more to the right to match the other one. All of a sudden... RIPPPP Instead of freaking out I remembered that I had extra plastic for strips I got out my clamps and glue and sand paper and went to work and here you go, it isnt perfect but when I put the strip over it no one will no the difference, cept you guys Hopefully all works out, I was really stressin
  7. looks great!!! good job staff
  8. Looks good man. With my ATA I sanded the bumps down on the back of my cap and back right there under the traps. It makes it a little smoother looking when you paint. I see yours kinda pokes out on the sides by the ears too, its a good helmet tho!
  9. LOL, couldnt put a price on that
  10. It looks like there some of the tube stripes stuck under that ear too, theres a lot of good advice for you to read, I would just go for the stunt look at this point. Theres your excuse to get a new bucket and make it a hero!
  11. Man I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to close this shins. I cant glue them shut and the velcro isnt working but elastic! AH HA! thanks so much Mark
  12. Hey man as far as the brow trim goes I think its bearly too short on the sides. It still might be passable but I will let the experts jump in on that before I make an assumption, maybe trim the decals a little bit to make them fit, you can always paint a black line on them. I did on mind an its bearly noticable, only if you hold it real close. To fix the height of the brow issue....its a little low, all you need to do it take a razor blade and CAREFULLY trim the plastic under the trim so that when you put the trim back on it should sit a little higher, make sure you only do a little at a time tho, but heck if you do a lot by accident then you can become a stunt trooper and the screws wont be an issue. I could send you a pair of extra ears I have, then you can start over with that part, if that might interest you. Let me know.
  13. Woahhhh dude! Mad respect, that helmet collection is saaaaweeeet! Love it man!
  14. Stand up guy, always good for some advice on ANYTHING. Thanks for makin us all look bad man, lol, jk, great job and Im sure we will be celebrating post number 2000 in a couple weeks!
  15. wow! I havent looked at your thread in a while Will and I gotta say you make that AM kit look great! Nice AP helmet too. Keep it up dude, looks like youre just about there
  16. Nice work on that E-11! Most Impressive
  17. Good job dude! Every time I see another EIB it makes me more determined to get this suit done, once again good work man
  18. Wish I could make it...Gotta finish that suit, it might be a bit far for me, can't wait to attend a con tho!
  19. Hey man! Welcome to the FISD Dude if you wanna get a little slack on the cost, go ATA, its pretty accurate, a little tougher of a build but the price is great and it looks great all put together, just another option to consider. PM me if you want some more info.
  20. Im not trying to derail this but I had a question come to mind, what kind of undersuit did the orignal troopers in the movies wear?
  21. man i picked the wrong year not to move to florida lol
  22. Its great how far TK lids have progressed from that
  23. It was probably unecessary to name names like I did and I apologize. It was just in the heat of the moment. It just gets at me when people take the work of GL/AA/SDS/RMQ ETC and think that they know all about it and they own the rights to that helmet, chest box, blaster, etc. WE are supposed to be in this together. I know im probably just beating and old horse to death. Also it gets under my skin when I put up pictures of the suit I am working on and I know people are sitting at their computers "wow nice recast" etc. I cant afford a TM, TE2 or AP. I believe that the ATA looks great and I think T is a great guy from the correspondences we've had and Im not trying to impress people here Im trying to impress the public. I guess I just had to get this off my mind. Sorry guys, you are all great.
  24. Over the past two days I have been doing a lot reading here and on the rpf even tho im not a member there. I found the profiles of both TE and GINO (why does he hate the FISD so much?????) and of course being the curious person I am I was reading through past topics and posts. It did nothing but enrage me. How GINO gets sleep at night I dont know. Insulting people for what they enjoy (dressing up as he calls it), acting like hes some super human with a higher knowlege of star wars. Then TE, well everyone is wise to his ways by now. "oh just last night my basement birthed another batch of HDPE helmets!" give me a break. Oh and they are going for 500 bucks. How absurd. I dont care how much of a "peice of art" it is. In reality its a piece of plastic. 500 bucks or 1000+ seems like highway robbery to me. It almost makes a nice helmet unattainable. Granted im realativly new but not a complete idiot or a noob at that. In fact I am working on my armor which some people call a recast. I was having fun with it until i read all that #$%^ and it made me want to scrap the whole thing. I dont understand how you can think that you are the end all be all of the star wars prop world just cause you got lucky and ended up in the Archives. FYI it could have been anyone else and that roles would be switched. Honestly as I was reading posts from GINO on an especially heated TM helmet thread (im sure some of you know which one) I found myself laughing. Yeah I know youve provided some GREAT info but get a life man and stop trying to belittle people who just want to learn. Honestly I beleive recasting is wrong but I think people just take it to the next level for no reason. Guess I just put myself out there to be slammed but i just couldnt take it anymore. Im glad those 2 were banned cause had I got on this forum before that happend I would have run for the hills. Unbelievable. Sorry for the ranting and raving and for any offense taken
  25. Hey troopers, Heres what I am working on tonight. Right bicep and left shin. As of now I have to finish those pieces, the belt, attach the extra ammo belt to the thigh, sniper plate to the shin. Boots, undersuit and neck seal.
