  1. Hey man. I thought I might give you a tip. I see you mentioned getting a garter for the thighs. What I am doing is making a loop with some 2" black elastic and glueing it with high temperature super glue(so it wont melt off), im sure the might e6000 works great too. Anyway after you attach the loops to the top of the fronts of the tighs you simply run a belt through the loops and it holds it up just great. For your consideration at least, might be cheaper too. Good luck man and have fun....dont forget the pics!
  2. Honestly man, if you want something cheaper....id get a hasbro modded from Anrev on these boards. For being a hasbro it looks great, the one I got feels more solid than I'd think, I wouldnt throw it against a wall but it wont be falling apart any time soon, and its no $200 dollar hyperfilm. Good luck man
  3. Im glad you tossed that thing. It hurts everytime I see one. Go ATA, good price, good quality, good service
  4. woah my head is still spinning
  5. Ballin-the act of being fly -in this case fly means being cool or trendy. -Hey look at that guy in that porsche. Yeah that guy is Ballin.
  6. Stay strong man. Its your hobby, Who know, you might find someone who is interested and then they will want to join too. Thats how is all grows. But I know what you mean man. Not many of my 20 year old college age friends understand what the deal is with the costume im building. Building costumes is not what many guys my age do and 90 percent of the time, when I say Im building a stormtrooper costume the look on their face says two things...1. Thats absurd dude and 2. Its most likly a piece of crap. Hell my girlfriend didnt even know what to do about it but as you see, she now has accepted it and wants to take pictures. However when I show most everyone else pictures the only response I get then is wow! thats so legit. The ones that have seen the movies truely love and envy the suit so far and who knows....some of them might join too youre doing such a great job on that rubies suit and your woman is into the hobby too! Thats great! Keep it up bro.
  7. LOL! I love it Alex
  8. The home page looks great! You guys are doing a great job, its definatly an improvement. Great job to all the staff, hopefully I will get approved and be able to get all that new merch!
  9. AHAHAHAHAHA! great post vic
  10. lol. I love all the responses. Its easily the worst one I have seen. I find it so hard to believe someone would pay even 12.50 for it
  11. The AP and TM helmet are roughly the correct size I believe and while they arent the cheapest, from what Ive seen those suits are probably your best bet for getting the closest to movie accuracy. The FX and the current AM helmet are usually the ones that run bigger. Who knows you might even what to put it on for a troop one day . Good luck with your display man!
  12. Job well done Paul! When I had just joined back in November it didnt take long for me to figure out who was the boss around here haha. You do a great job of adding your input, regulating the discussions, being an all around swell guy and you really do make this one of the best forums on the net. Glad to have you around for another year!
  13. I measure and mark with a pencil and take my time and go slowly when Im cutting
  14. I had a question about the thighs. Are the strips ususally used for each one? One for the front, one for inside to reinforce the front were the butt joint is and one on the back? Thanks for the help
  15. ATA is a good kit man. Good Luck
  16. Hope everyone is doing well. Man I can already feel that this is gonna be a long week. Anyway I got an important costume part today from colorado. Its a blaster and holster from Anrev. It looks great in my opinion! I know they do run a little shorter and I'll have to get a couple T-Tracks (any donations for a poor college kid? . He did a great job on it and his work really is quality. I got a "used" one cause I thought the more weathered look is much more authentic. Ok heres a few pics
  17. yeah same here. this tip came right in the nick of time!
  18. Great looking TX bill! Can't get enough of these stealth troopers! I love em
  19. Great job Tom! You really stand out here on the boards! Thanks for all the help and advice you personally have given me
  20. Well if Daetrin doesnt have rivets then ill stick with velcro
  21. Fair enough. Sounds like a safe plan. Will post pics of the ab plate etc on my build thread later on.
  22. Thanks stukatrooper! Thats an awesome picture to use as a reference
  23. Is there a good tutorial on doing the rivets on the left side? I think it might look better than the velcro but I wanna make sure I do it right because I havent worked with rivets before
  24. Is it acceptable to have the kidney and ab plate joined with industrial velcro instead of the rivets and strapping technique? Thanks Jonathan
