  1. you... thats three more for me... i have a lot of work ahead of me...
  2. how offen does this have to be done? how can we tell if we are updated or not? i have done this once already... maybe in oct/nov... shortly after i got my TK numbers... just wondering... BTW... still having loads of fun doing this... i have done more for our communities and charities in the last six month than i have before i started doing this.... still going strong... and we have been recognized... you are looking at the newest squad out there.... WEST TEXAS SQUAD... part of Star Garrison...
  3. this is a test... ok... it didnt work... i was not able to make it to your workplace today... i will try tomorrow.... later...
  4. Matt... you told us at the last meeting that you were doing this... man... i had no idea.. wait... MEETING!!!! CRAP... i missed tonights meeting... man... that really sucks... i was looking forward to being there... anyway... i guess i will see you tomorrow... you can fill me in on what i missed... like the hats... patches... things like that... i cant believe i forgot about it... ok... this looks fantastic... i cant wait to see it in person...
  5. lets not forget.. Order 55- All Stormtoopers are required to start singing "I Cant Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar in thier TIE Fighters while zooming around the galaxy Order 68- And all the Stormtrooper yell "we owe you one"
  6. we might lean if we had a railing... LOL... if you can get up and down stairs!!!! the first time i wore my armor i had to go down stairs to get my shoes... well our stairs are hard wood... and my socks were slippery... so... yes... i slipped and down the stairs i went... in my armor... but do damage done... great looking armor... i did the same thing in my armor... i went trick or treating with my daughter... loads of fun... it wasnt hard for her to pick out her dad among all the other parents... too bad i got sick and had to get out of costume... oh well...
  7. Have you figured anything out with this yet... this past weekend i had the same issues... my new boots has a huge mouth and, like you, my boot kept pushing out... my quick fix was duct tape... i held the boot top closed around my ankle and a buddy took thin strips of duct tape and... taped them... it was a quick fix... for a more permanat fix i plan on cutting the back edge and adding a strap of velcro to pull the sides together... i havent really looked at it too close yet to see if it would really work but it sounds good to me... this was one of those moments early in the morning when you wake up before your alarm goes off and you just lay there thinking of things... waiting for the alarm to go off...
  8. Our next meeting is Nov 11th at Premiere Comics a 6pm.... see ya there...
  9. I have a number to answer to this now... as you all know they give you many options to have for your TK... all of my choices had to do with my family... you know wife/kids birthdays.. year and date... wedding aniverseries... things as such... i guess out of all the choices i put in they picked 9712... 97 is the year my daughter was born and 12 is my sons birth date... so... i have both of my kids represented... pretty cool...
  10. "We found out this weekend they are going to approve us as a fire team, which is actually the first step to becoming a squad! We're getting closer to the 12-15 members we have to have before we are officially a seperate squad! Our squad's future is looking bright! " That is a quote from an email i just recieved... this is what we have been looking for... this is what it is all about... and every day we are getting closer and closer... it is so cool... and my avatar is the proposed patch... it goes with the same theme with the north and south tx patches... so cool... wish us luck... or better yet... move to abilene... and join our fire team...
  11. i used rivets on the right thigh ammo piece... and snaps on the knee piece... although i would definitely recommend rivets for the knee piece... every time i walk one side of the knee piece come off... the snaps are not strong enough... i tried using rivets first and i kinda screwed it up... i ended up with big holes in the plastic...so to fill the holes i used snaps... still a bad idea but it was all i had at the time... I'm thinking about trimming a bit off the bottom of it so it will pull out farther... as it is now it does hit on my thigh piece.. and that is what pops the snap... still tweakeing... good luck man... and take your time...
  12. could i get 501st access? TK-9712 i think this is what you need... http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...php?userID=9872
  13. i know this might be a bit of a dumb question... but did you sand the areas you are glueing... i dont want to insult you or any thing...... i use a plastic epoxy and it doesnt stick very well if i dont sand it...
  14. holy cow guys... those look amazing... i can only hope mine will look half as good as one of these...
  15. i looked into this and i thought it more a build kit than a repair kit... still good info...
  16. wow... these are all great ideas... it looks like im gonna need a bigger shoe box ok... well it started out as a shoe box... when i got home i found an old tool box i wasnt sure what to do with... now its my repair kit... lets see what did i have problems with... 1. shin glue snapped... velcro to the rescue 2. popped rivet on my belt.... duct tape 3. lenses fell out of bucket.... i found out that dropping the helmet on its top on concrete doesnt do it any good... hot glue 4. black voice thingie on the front of bucket.... see above... hot glue 5. ear peice fell off... see above... it was a horrible thing... hot glue 6. velcro came loose on back of belt... more duct tape... and that was all on my frist troop... i guess i now know what i need to work on... with all that did happen it was well worth it... thanks for all the input on the ... huh.. puts ins...
  17. has any one made a repair kit or fix kit for trooping? i was lucky this past weekend... as i was getting armored up, one of my shin pieces came unglued.... ahhh... panic... luckily i brought extra velcro and scissor... when i came home i immediately began putting together a repair/fix kit just for those moments... i put in the box: velcro(black and white colored), scissors, exacto knife, super glue, duct tape, painters tape, glue gun with glue sticks... oh and extra ABS plastic peices.... i think thats all i have in there... so... has any one else done this... I'm willing to bet that i am not the first to do this... but i thought it was a good idea... now i have a dedicated box just for trooping... i will never leave home with out it... if anyone has any other ideas of what to put in this kit, i will be glad to hear....
  18. that looks pretty cool... i like it... im sure my two cents dosnt mean anything... but ... i still think it looks pretty cool... and being a member of the 501st i guess everyone would have to paint theirs blue... ok...maybe not... my other two cents will go for whoever decides to do this... i couldnt help notice a little bleed over of the paint... i have read on one of these forums that electical tape works best for taping off your paint area and it doesnt allow the paint to bleed underneath the tape... and it doesnt leave any sticky residue... i use this method on my bucket and it worked great... just my four cents worth... armor/paint scheme looks great dude...
  19. you know... he said you cant come on campus in gear... he didnt say anything about being just off campus... maybe across the street?... on the corner?... some place close enough, but not ON the campus... just a thought...
  20. You take all the time you need brother... our thoughts and prayers are on you and your family...
  21. I can sympathize with you... i not only scuffed up the wrong side... i proceeded to glue the shim to the wrong peice... doh!!!!.... luckily my glue had only start to set... i was able to just peal it off... i was really worried at first.... most of my glue just peals off if its only in the first hour of setting... but once it is completely dry... it wont come up at all... good luck in your repair job and glue removal....
  22. its a good thing you posted this... this is the next step i need to do to get my armor up and running... thanks for the idea... "tiny trooper crotch syndrome" ... thats funny.... i have seen that and really didnt think much of it until you brought it up...
