  1. yes... happy mothers day... (belated)
  2. I met mr Bullock at the Star Wars Fan day last yr in Plano... he is such a great guy... and a since of humur to boot... really funny guy... and yes i have his autograph... it cost more for pics of all the actors there so i went with the autograph... the next Star Wars Fan day is in Oct... hopfully i will have my armor up and running by then... that would be so cool... it would be like one yr since i was told about this web site and my journey began... now if we did something like this... i would love to be a part of it...
  3. that would be very exciting to be a part of that... i know he had to be pretty stoked... and to be a part of that would have been the pinicle of the armor process... kudos to those guys at the dented helmet and rebel scum... they made the dallas new... http://www.dallasnews.com/video/dallasnews...34252&shu=1
  4. Dont know if anyone has seen this... but the one and only, Jeremy Bulloch received his replica Boba-Fett costume courtesy of thedentedhelmet.com and rebelscum.com at the Dallas Comic Con this past weekend. ..... this is so cool.... ck out the thread... http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24921
  5. I can see why every one is drooling over that blaster.... wow is the only word to describe it. also... the armor looks great too.. all you guys are my inspiration... i just have to keep plugging away at my armor to get my elite status... one day...
  6. i have seen Iron Man also... and i would have to say it was pretty dang good... i was a little suprised at what he did at the end at the press confrence (dont want to give it away if someone hasnt seen it)... not sure how closed they stayed to the comic on that... i never read iron man that much... i was more in to X-Men and Spiderman.... and i couldnt agree more with you nathan about the comic movies that didnt pack the punch... you can add 30 days of Night to that list... i would say it sucked but i could put it in the same group... along with Ghostrider... i didnt stay to see what happened after the credits...so i guess i will have to see it again.... i did read that robert downey jr makes a cameo in the new hulk coming out... and it was confirmed that he is there as Tony Stark.... Paraphrased from Nathan... with my take... Spiderman 3... too many bad guys screws up a movie.... See below... Fantastic Four 1 and 2... the first one was slow... i liked the second one even though it was short... very short... Hulk... with the next one they are pretending that this one didnt even happen... just "do over"... say no more Daredevil... Boring... Ben... Affleck... they didnt plan on making another... so they made...> Electra... this is what they get when the original idea didnt work... Batman 3,4 ... too many bad guys... and Arnold... Blade 3. Biel was hot... liked it... Superman returns was watchable, only for Spacy as Lex... The "Wrong" line was the best part though... (couldnt agree more with nathan) to add... i thought it was pretty slow... and they should have put in smallville guy as young clark... 30 days of night... i bet the comic was bettter... Ghostrider... uh... dont know where to begin with this one... oh i know... Nicolas Cage... thats it... not enough ghostrider...
  7. im glad you asked this... i have been wondering the same thing... to paint the inside or not? (i hope thats what you are asking... i dont mean to take your thread... )
  8. i would have to go with the original then the prequels... i couldnt agree more that if i saw ep 1 i would not have finished the series... the prequels have a different feel to them... im sure it will be the same when the live action TV series comes out as well... you cant beat the original trilogy... they created alot of the technology back then... that made the movies... but, my son is 14 and he loves the prequels... i think it depends on what you start with... he has seen the original episodes... but he went to the movies to see the prequels... it made a bigger impact on him... he could almost identify with them more... so when we watch them... for his sake we watch them in episode order... i have to admit... all time favorite fight scene is in ROTS, young Vader against yound Obi Wan....
  9. I believe I am ready to start working on my helmet... i really dont want to mess this up... so i will try some of the ideas on this thread and others i have read... i like the idea of cutting the slots in the dome... and i actually thought of the same idea of using a barrel sanding wheel to cut the frown out from the inside... now its just confirmed... just curious... how many of you have painted the inside of the helmet black... i have been pondering the idea... but i see a lot of pics on this site and the inside of most, if not all, are still white... i know what the purpose of painting it black but is it really worth painting the entire inside?....

  12. Fantastic... congrats brother... have fun with it... just dont play with it too much or you will go blind...
  13. after reading this a few times it finally hit me of what you were trying to say... i got it!!... it hit me like a brick wall... duh? why didnt i see this before... trim off at a angle and it will bring in whats poking out... thanks brother... i know what i will be doing this weekend...
  14. these are all great replies... thanks for all the advise... i have seen mods with the peice strapped to the shoulder bell and i liked the way that looks and works...i have already shimmed the back so the peice isnt too small on the bottom or top... and i dont have a problem with the peice when i bend my arm... its only when i put my arm down to my side... i have no doubt it will fit better with under armor and when i have other armor peices on... thanks again.. for all the advise...
  15. in that case... my shoulder bells will be poking out... i dont know... padding wont do anything because it is already tight on my bicept and the back of my arm... its just feels wrong... like its sqeezing my arm... not painfully but just enough to make it not comfortable... thats the best way i can describe it... i thought about nuking it... maybe that will soffen up the plastic... i will do a test on that... any way thanks for your input Alex...
  16. ok... here are the pics... the frist shows the oval... the me holding it "round"... from the back... from the top...ish... from the front...
  17. ryan... i just got my armor not too long ago and these videos are a god send... they help in ways i wouldnt have thought... Dave.... congrats on your baby... and thanks a million for these videos... they are getting me through the build... i watch the video with peices in hand doing a dry fit while im watching you... then i go out to the garage and put them together... i cant say thanks enough...
  18. holy cow... within 2 hours i have people telling me to post pics... ok ok.. ill get some pics... anyway... im at work now so pics will have to wait til i get home... <_< there are some pics of my bicepts on my other thread... ----- they dont show the problem i have... the glued part faces forward... i have the shim in the back... lets see if i am putting them on correctly... the curved part goes in my armpit right?... well when i do this and put my arm down to my side... the tricept part pokes way out... thats the best way to describe it with out pics... i can squeeze it with my hands to make it fit more comfortably... ill post pics later today or tonight when i get home...
  19. in building my kit, i noticed my bicept peices are a bit oval... in the wrong direction... i either need it to be round or oval the other way.. what can i do? i dont want to try the blow torch... my luck i would burn down my house... and my armor... maybe a blow dryer?...
  20. this is the glue i have been using... and it works great... and if there is a little over spill... it just peels off with little or no use of a knife... and it seems to hold up pretty good.. i guess i will find out when my armor is done...
  21. looks like it would be fun to cut out on a peice of wood... have to look in to that after i get my 501st membership to keep from copyright infringments..... i like it all the same....
  22. i remember that... it was only Star Wars.... and it didnt say episode 4... not at first...
  23. i think its great how you all can remember seeing it in the theaters... i know i had to of seen it in the theaters but... star wars has been in my life for so long i cant pinpoint the time i saw it in the theater... i do however remember when it was an exclusive on HBO... my dad recorded it on a VHS... i was watching it all the time... then the others finally came out on HBO... and by the time all 3 three came out... he had them all on one VHS tape... SLP... we would watch all three on any given saturday... we wouldnt even have to say anything to each other... we would be kinda bord with tv and he would get that look on his face... "you want to?" (of course in a southern accent..) "yep".... and we would pop popcorn and have a great time with these movies... those are some of the memories i have of star wars... oh... i forgot... the year i come to terms that there was no santa... my parents were acting funny when they had groceries to bring in and i went out to help and they told me not to help... i knew something was up... they had like 30 star wars figs in the trunk... by the time all three were out i had almost all of the figs... except for the ones you had to send off for... i had all kinds of ship... i even had the twelve inch figs... man those were the days... (dont ask what happened to my collection... it is a hard thing for me to talk about... )
  24. older than dirt... younger than sin... im 38 going on 50... yes i remember the original movies in the theaters... it was great...
