  1. mine both have the ear piece and that works good. When I used my throat mic with the ear piece (clear tube that plugs into your ear) I had a sound amplifier in the other ear to insure I could hear both things good. The armor rattle was a bit loud. I haven't solve that noise yet. I was able to have a PTT in each finger tip and talk into the voice amplifier or the walkie or both. I could also keep it private when talking with squires or someone asking a private question and not press either button. I would love to try it again sometime. It works out at large events where you can get away from the group like a ball game or concert or convention center. channel 5 01 yo.
  2. I painted mine flat black with a matte clear coat over it.
  3. that's what I was going to ask.
  4. try Nevr Dull. it removes most everything I have ever gotten on my kit including sharpie. But do it QUICK as the bed liner may stain the armor if it sits on it too long.
  5. If they are different versions you can get both approved. Due to being the same file name they will have to be submitted one at a time to the GWL upload tool. Once the first one is approved and posted you can then submit the second one.
  6. I know Breckin Meyer has a wearable display helmet I built for him. His looks just like mine inside but his eyes are framed with the headliner material like my frown is.
  7. I've thought about a chin strap. Because of the way my padding works I don't need a chin strap to hold the helmet more steady. Mine I can shake pretty good and still be able to see out of it without adjustment. If someone puts their arm around me and hits the bucket it still shifts though. Nothing to stop that from happening. It is also removable. I sewed velcro to ducks cloth sewn to the underside of the satin material so I can take it out. I use the same padding for my TK in my TS until I get around to making another pad. Thanks Isaac. I really love how mine feels and looks inside. I love showing it off now. I was always embarrassed by how crude it looked inside until I finished it off like I did.
  8. the padding is my own creation. I sewed it myself. holds to my head perfectly without any issues.
  9. I'm sure there was a thread posted about this years ago. I know I've posted a few times now.
  10. Just picking a measurement and going with it without thinking about the rest of the armor is just plain silly.
  11. I don't think it is a proportion of the big guy or the tiny girl wearing armor. It is the proportion of the armor itself. I know for a fact that some makers armor belt is 4" tall. Mine being a screen derived kit is only 3.5". So a 3.5" canvas belt on my 3.5" armor won't be correct. But my 3" belt on a 4" armor belt would look too thin. You should build the canvas belt to the proportion of your armor belt. Does that make sense?
  12. i believe it is only for the hero version since this is what Luke is known to wear.
  13. the one in the front is not anything in the star wars universe.
  14. 3.5 inches would make my belt as wide as the armor part. Which is NEVER going to happen. The belt shouldn't be as wide as the armor part ever. I have no idea how wide other kits are. I guess the bigger kits have to have a wider one so it doesn't look small on big people.
  15. I have and they work great. I used it for a walkie talkie system so I had a PTT for my helmet mic and one for the throat mic depending on who I wanted to talk to. It worked out great.
  16. We will have to start calling you Wallowizard. hahahaaaa
  17. in your left side picture the belt is up against the bottom of the ab dot plates (looks correct). But in all the others (see front view) it looks about 1" down. Why did it change from one photo to another?
  18. Have I mentioned I would love to see a "Like" button here. I think every site should have them. I know the Mountain Garrison forums have them.
  19. anything FX should die and we need to encourage people to stop buying it. There re so many other better kits now. And they fit big people like FX does.
  20. Megenta/Lavenderish colors it would be. Too funny.
  21. I love the idea. Having many photographer friends I have seen them do many a costumes based on a negative. I think I would do one of these even if it is just for fun. I already have an approved costume for the legion. Who cares if this would or wouldn't. That's not why I costume.
  22. centered on the ab plate below the large plate of dots there should be a small square/rectangle shape about 2 - 2.5" below the dots. centered in that and centered in your belt should pretty much make the belt lay were it should.
  23. I use Nevr-Dull. It is a cotton wad polish for chrome but it is amazing when removing stains and marks on your armor. It removes sharpie like it is dirt. My holster rubs all the time and has started staining my thigh black and it removes it pretty well. Over time the armor has gotten worn so it isn't glossy like it used to be but at least it isn't a black stain. I'm sure if I used a novus polish I could get it back to closer to original. You can find it at any automotive store or truck stop.
  24. Congratulations Eric. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the FISD in 2013.
