  1. Top notch work Armando! Great pix too!
  2. Great work John!! BTW what is the gauge/thickness of the material?
  3. Plus 1 Great work Mike!
  4. BTW, if no one has the green Bubble lens, then try Steve/Riveting's How To "ROTJ lenses re bubbled" http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=4954&st=0&p=63509&hl=bubble%20lenses&fromsearch=1entry63509 I must say it's riveting!
  5. From the measurement that I took from the picture and calculating the diameter of the rivet head to be approximately 3/8" and then looking at the hole in the middle of the rivet and measuring it, it is approximately 1/3 the size of the rivet heads diameter, thus making the hole size 1/8"
  6. 1)where can i get bubble lenses?and are they green? Vast majority had two green bubble lenses. Some evidence that a few troopers had flat lenses. Check with JoeR and Mark/sskunky (CFO) they do ROTJ lids. They should have some bubble lens that should work for you. If they don't have any in stock, then check with some of the other armor vendors, to see if they have green bubble lens for purchase separate. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=11538 2)what color paint do i use for the white and black(for frown) and grey(for the ear caps)was there any paint chips? For the grey paint for the ear caps/antennas, use either Testors #1138 Grey or Humbrol Dark Admiral Grey Gloss. For the ROTJ frown use black "satin finish". Look in your hobby store for black satin enamel or some do use Testors #1747 "Model Master" or Humbrol #21 Black Gloss Enamel The original ROTJ lids were made of "Biscuit white" ABS, So if you have a lid made of HIPS then you will need to find some "Biscuit white" spray paint for the correct color tone. Rust-Oleum 210372 12 OZ. Biscuit Enamel Spray Paint is the best choice off the shelf. 3)decals where use for traps ect?correct? any other info i need? Here is a link for buying the right Decals for the ROTJ lids: http://members.cox.net/appstronaut/ROTJ_helmet_decals.html .
  7. From looking at the pictures of the screen used lids on Starwarshelmets.com, the rivets that were used on the screen used lids were a bit larger than you would normally get at the hardware store. I took the pix of the TD's from Starwarshelmets.com and printed them out and took a micrometer to measure the size of the rivet. Then, using that mesurement, I pin pointed something else in the same picture that was approximately the same size (which was the height of one of the teeth). I then took measurement of the same tooth from my TE2 lid (which was cast off of an original ANH helmet) and determined from that measurement that the measurement of the rivet's diameter is approximately 3/8". Without having the actual screen used helmet with the rivet to measure from, in your hands, this is probably the most accurate way that you can do it.
  8. You can also look into plastic enclosures for electronics. You can find all different sizes and styles at the link below: ----------- http://web.tradekorea.com/upload_file2/product/615/P00238615/cbe9caa5_4fab41b1_d4f6_4b84_a4be_52550b508b77.jpg
  9. Too heavy on the black wash weathering. I think the battle scars in the red need to be blended/feathered a bit more. Try using a sanding sponge or maybe some #0000 steel wool to try to feather the paint edges of where the battle scars are in the red to make it look more random/scraped. To me it just looks like little tears in the paint job right now.
  10. Hey Thomas, The ATA as you already have seen is made out of HIPS. A lot of people feel that HIPS is easier to trim than ABS, which is somewhat true. The ATA kit is a good one and I think you will have fun zombiefying it. As for you second TK suit, you might want to look at TM's kit. Paul is in the UK which is much closer to you in Germany. Paul pulls some impressive armor, or is that most impressive. If you want my opinion on the two kits (AP or T/MC)I would probably go with the AP. I think it has sharper details than the T/MC. But do check into Paul/TM's kit if you are wanting a great accurate suit with closer shipping to you. The AP and TM kits run about the same price, so just have a look before you have fun with your tax money.
  11. If you want to keep your lid accurate, then don't do a thing to the bump/wart. My 2 cents! Have fun with your build, post more pix when you can!
  12. That is probably close to the mark, no pun intended..by using the reference "Mark" Carrie Fisher is 5'1". Harrison Ford is 6'1". If you look at the pictures standing beside each other, Hammil is a little bit taller than Carrie, but not by much. Harrison is kind of leaning, but Mark and Carrie are pretty much standing straight. In fact, I would say Hammil is closer to 5'5" to 5'6" tall.
  13. The clip hook that you are talking about was on a few of the biceps, but not all of them. Just take the suit that Han wore, his right bicep had the hook, but his left one didn't. I know that the hook does help keep your biceps from twisting somewhat, so it is up to the individual as to how they want to do their suit. BTW, LMAO Great pic of the duct tape suit.
  14. Also, here are couple of links that will help you out with the Rom-FX + Speakers Hovis. HOWTO: Helmet mounted speakers Big speakers - not mini hovi ones (by John Danter): ------------- Hopes it help ya, jimmy
  15. Hey Mike, all and all you test fit looks good. You need to lower your belt and move it slightly to your right, to center it. (Please look at the pix below) You also need to lower your biceps a wee bit. Have a look at the pix below from the several ANH TKs. ( screen grab, behind the scenes, and publicity photo) . As you can see, some of the bicep armor is worn a little lower ( depending on the length of the persons arms.) Keep up the good work Bro! BTW, if you have not looked at this link, it will help with attaching the belt to the AB plate: http://www.whitearmor.net/home/tutorials/armor-tutorials/belts.html
  16. That happen few more times through out ANH...plus in the publicity photos, and Topps Cards as well. Happy to help Dan, and when I get more time, I will post more pix. BTW, have you looked at this link for some TK pix: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=10786
  17. Keith's or Sskunky's both look spot on. Smitty's metal screen does not look accurate to me. (Sorry about that Smitty) Below is a picture of an original Hovi. Note that the Hovi's were originally white, then painted black. Thus, the chipping around the edges and you can see the white. This gave the effect that it was possibly metal where the paint had worn. Keith's is cast in white resin and you can paint them black. Mark, sskunky's is cast in white resin, as well, and I believe his are already painted black, but check with him to see if you can get it either/or. Either Keith's or sskunky's would be a good choice. Pic of an oniginal Hovi: Keith's Hovi's: Mark (sskunky) Hovi's: Smitty's Hovi's:
  18. Have fun Arnold!! take lots of pix when you work on your AP build! BTW, the neck trim, and hovis that come with the AP kit are not accurate. Mike has the neck trim, + other things: http://members.cox.net/appstronaut/tk4510_decals.html For accurate hovis: Keith: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=12782&st=0&p=155967&hl=keith&fromsearch=1entry155967 Sskunky: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=12588 Smitty: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=10676&st=0&p=134072&hl=free%20hovi&fromsearch=1entry134072
  19. Congratz to all of you. Thanks for all that you do!
  20. Like Mark said, the "Space Trooper" was played by Joe Johnston. Here are alternative views of the same shot. Johnston is standing on a riser, that is why he looks so much taller than Lucas. Because of the view from the first pic that you posted, the camera angle made the TKs look "Wookie tall" and Lucas look like a Hobbit.
  21. Glad to help What I like about the pen style is, that you have ultimate control over the design/area that you are wanting to mask off.
  22. Congratz Thomas, on your EIB!

  24. The guy with Star Fortress has a warrant out for his arrest in Texas. http://web.archive.org/web/20091025134649/http://geocities.com/universalarmorer/scheuer_wanted.html He is bad news, stay away from him and his product. Like everyone said above, jump over to the tree dodgers site bikerscout.net. There are several people over there have a good reputation, that make good quality TB kits, MC being one of the best. You can also check Kropserkel. They make a pretty decent kit as well. Kropserkel Biker Scout Kit
  25. Keep up the top notch work, Rich. There are quite a few people doing authentic lids here on the forum lately, with the paint chips and over spray of the primer, etc. I can't wait to see this one finished.
