Master Replicas helmet
RogueTrooper replied to lostin480's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
+1 Yeah, you can get "A" grade kits starting $125.oo USD that have screen linage to them. All the kits can be put together in a few hours to a day. (all depends on how long you work on it.) Even if you do the basic 501st approval there are things you will have to do to the MRCE/EFX style helmet: Darker lenses installed Frown painted properly for type/style (gray for ANH,black for ESB/ROTJ) Proper tube stripes for type/style of TK Ear screws added (for ANH/ESB) Chin seam caulked or filled Proper amount of teeth cut out (if needed) Optional Mods: Correct trim Thin out the ears It will take as much time, if not a little more then a kit would. Just my two cent... BTW, a little history about the MRCE, was the original concept for the Master Replicas LE, but got the thumbs down by the prop collector's world. M.R. made it the economy line and named the helmet "Master Replicas Collectors Edition".. After M.R. went out of business, 4 of the top people that worked for M.R. started eFX. eFX retained the copy rights for some of the product one of which is the MRCE which was re-named eFX PCR. -
Rego's Incinerator (pic heavy)
RogueTrooper replied to Rego's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Great looking Incinerator, Some of the thing that I would do have been said above to make it wee bit better. If I may, the drop boxes look a little new looking. If it was me I would scuff them up a bit to go along with the rest of your cool INC. -
On the fence - White or Black armor?!?!
RogueTrooper replied to lostin480's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I like the Shadowtroopers, the only down fall is they look great shiny with no scratches, but look bad when they get a lot of scratches and dirt ( you have to polish your TX about every troop) Whereas the TKs look great either way. in fact I feel the more scuffed up the TK gets the more real they look (plus closer the screen look) One more down fall to the TX...A good friend/ Garrison mate, has a TX, and all the time people yell out "Hey there's Darth Vader!!!" Is true.... -
Options for Hero ears (3 bumps)
RogueTrooper replied to DarkTrooper's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
TM and Gino make Hero. But the color tone of the white maybe not match either. Here are some options. 1. paint the whole helmet. 2. Cut out the Hero ear bars and cut/dremel out the same are of the ears the color match you helmet. then glue them into the ears that work color wise for your helmet. See below: Sorry, my diagram is a little crude (I am at work.) -
............................ Happy Birthday to Nathan (Runnriottt) and Ingrid (LadyInWhite) Hope you have a great one!

I just did just Hovi and got sh!t load.....
-
The forum search engine (the IPB) plugin is not that great .We were looking into a better search engine to replace this, but a lot are not compatible with the IP software. Some will cost a wee bit more than we have in the piggy bank... Try just "Hovi" nothing else.

TKC CRL Blaster questions - I think we missed something
RogueTrooper replied to Daetrin's topic in Stormtrooper Commander
The TKC EI does state: Holster should be omitted from this costume. "Should" is the key word". This word allows you (or anyone) make your own decision, with or without a holster....Either way, is EI approval-able (Burger King motto: Have it your way) Hopefully with the discussion about the holster and belt requirements in the Detachment only area, all TK CRLs will be strengthen and better clarification . -
TKC CRL Blaster questions - I think we missed something
RogueTrooper replied to Daetrin's topic in Stormtrooper Commander
Basically, the base 501st approval for All TK E11 states: ''Based on a real or replica Sterling sub-machine gun, scratch-built, or a modified commercial toy Stormtrooper blaster." So you can use anything you want for the weapon as long as it's ''based on the Sterling sub-machine gun" for basic 501st approval. If anyone wants to, for their basic E11, they can have anything they want for greeblies...You can have or not have: counter, power cylinders, etc......... In fact, it states in all TK CRLs: "Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present must meet the guidelines below." There again you do not need a weapon for basic 501st approval. IMHO, that the ESB style should not be allowed at all, only the ROTJ. But this would limit the EI apps, The ANH E11 is waaayy off from what is in the game to be in the mix and could confuse someone new to the TKC CRL. The ROTJ Style Centurion does state: Folding stock shall be in the extended position. The extended stock is a should for the ESB and ROTJ in the EI level, not a Shall. Folding stock (should be in the extended position). And the ESB does not have a Centurion level. I have been working on better verbiage and clarification for ALL the TK CRLs (Basic /EI / Centurion) and will be posted soon for all the TK members to look at and discuss. Have patience If you are having reference to the Sideshow Statue, We do not use it or the action figure for the paint reference, because the Game Model came before them..... but if, and I do mean if someone is going to have a holster we had to use the only reference there is which is the sideshow/action figure. If you read my post in this link: ---------- I said: In the future, the Centurion may end up saying: holster is not allowed. You said from same thread: -
Stunt or Hero helmet!?
RogueTrooper replied to Nate Jangotat's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
It like Burger Kings motto (have your way) which appeals to you the most.. As for the "Hero" and "Stunt" titles, the nicknames came from the better details on one type of helmet for closeups. The same is for the X-wing/Ywing helmets. There were two different types made of them as well, and they got coin the nicknames Hero and Stunt too. They could have easily nicknamed all these helmets "closeup" and "background" not because that Han and Luke had them on. -
TKC CRL Blaster questions - I think we missed something
RogueTrooper replied to Daetrin's topic in Stormtrooper Commander
In the game the E11 is a type of ROTJ with extended stock (also known as E11B) http://starwars.wiki...b_blaster_rifle But before we had the game skins, the E11 looks more like the dressed ESB (no greebles) than the ANH that has the counter/power cylinders etc... So for a closer alternative, the ESB style was kept in. ------------- As for the Holster. When the CRL were originally made, people asked if they could have an holster (because they wanted to be able to holster their E11 sometime at troops/events). I used the only reference for a TKC having a holster, which is the Sideshow. This was ask about before: ------- Since the TKC did have a reference (Sideshow) it could fall under the EI. It should also read "Holster may be omitted from this costume." I will fix that. As for the HWT holster, the same thing (people asked if they could have an holster) Since the HWT does not have any reference of having a holster, it was not allowed for EI, only basic approval. -
TKC CRL Blaster questions - I think we missed something
RogueTrooper replied to Daetrin's topic in Stormtrooper Commander
For EI (should be in the extended position) not "shall" that is for only for the ROTJ style Centurion. When I did/worked on the TKC CRL, I knew since the game E11 had the stock extended, that it needed to have something in there about it. -
Does anyone recognize these helmets?
RogueTrooper replied to Hells-Wingman's topic in Non Star Wars Costuming
It's Rubies Armor but the lids look to be original.....Hard hat/gas mask. borg..... -
Another filler, you can use Loctite Plastic epoxy (works well with ABS and HIPS) mix either some white model paint or some of the same material as the armor into the epoxy and fill. BTW, you can fine this at Walmart, Hobby store, Home improvement store. They also make a 5min version of this as well.
-
As for the Thigh ammo belt. We do not have any requirement for it at the EIB level (other than the basic: The small ammo belt is installed on the bottom of the right thigh. ) But for Centurion we do have "rounded at bottom". If it was me, I would just trim the back edge. If you look at the ANH stunts, some had the edges rounded more, some less.

You can go basic with the FX, but I would say step up to a better helmet, then you can go EI. you will be happier with any one of the screen linage lids.
