  1. Hi everyone! I got a start on some strapping done. Using the template, I created twenty strips of strapping to glue inside the armour (as a start). As many have suggested, I used a soldering iron to do this—and HIGHLY recommend it! Not only did it make the task really easy, but it was also really satisfying. Simply poke the iron through the holes in the template and then run it along the edges to stop them from fraying. Then I hammered male Tandy snaps into the straps. I bought 40 pairs of male/female snaps, but since I'm doubling up on snaps, that'll only be enough for 20 connections. I'm expecting I'll need to order some more snaps. And lastly, I got the first few straps glued into place on the chestplate, backplate and shoulder bells. I forgot to take a picture of the chestplate, but it's essentially the same as that of the backplate. More updates to come! Thanks for your ongoing input. :-)

  4. I give permission for FISD to repost my photos on social media in an appropriate fashion. Location: Seattle WA Event; Symphony Date: 10-27-2018 Garrison: Titan All set with my AM2.0 TK so first troop was to the Seattle Symphony Planets which they played some Star Wars. The Symphony Players did costumes even. TubaPlayer actually played as Kylo Ren. Impressive. Did a walk out during the concert and had a spotlight on us. Was pretty hard to see with a light in your face, but went really well. Then did pictures with folks as it was letting out. Really quick troop but was a good test run after I did some of the EIB modifications. We even got mentioned in the local Classical Radio station the next morning. I guess we made a impression on one of the announcers who was there that night. [emoji4]

  7. We exist solely to infuriate you. *bows* What can I say - I wasn't willing to sacrifice the entire mount by drawing in false sanding lines in more artistic places. Alternate (also true) excuse: I'm really really bad at applying makeup.

  8. Don't trim anymore unless you have your boots. Need to test fit these with your boots!

  9. Up early again this morning, doing some work on the shin guards and pre-assembled with some painter's tape. I'm going to use the belt sander for trimming up return edges on this go around. Now onto shoulder bells.....

  10. Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one! More paint errands today resulted in proper black and white, and a French blue in Model Masters brand. When I have my kit I plan to paint a little test circle and compare against colors of those with the “real” color. And then I had a productive afternoon! I LOOOOOOVE the snap press. I knocked out this big pile (cutting, burning, snapping) in about 2 hours. I only messed up 1 snap, and it was the one my 4 yr old “helped” with. And in in the meantime my BBB still shows as “label printed” for 6 days

  13. Great work Matt, has come out awesome, if you don't mind some feedback, one thing I would suggest you adjust is your chest box, it does appear a little high and close to the helmet, if you compare with the images below the centre of the chest box appears to align with the bottom of the shoulder bells giving more room between the helmet and the chest box. Once again great work, looking forward to seeing this as a CRL. Added

  14. You: This is not the build thread your looking for New FISD members: Your right it’s not your ab buttons are upside down. Come on guys let’s check out that Bud Spakler guy he seems to know everything, but I hear he’s a low brow TK stunt that uses binders, a com mic, and chatter when he troops. 18. Location: Seattle WA Event: Woodland Park Zoo Lights Date: 01-03-2019 Garrison: Titan Had really bad rain all day and everyone was worried that it'd be a washout. The rain letup just in time however! Of course, rain isn't much concern to a TK. Some of the other costumes might have had more problems. Guarding the Photo Memories. Might have some sensitive data in them. An Ewok showed up and really wanted to get it's pictures. Had to put it back into the Zoo. It's a petting Zoo. Boss showed up. Saber looks really good at night. Rode off in circles when it was all done. Some creaking, but nothing broke when I got mounted. Was a little worried I'd crack something, but it was all good!
