For as long as I can remember most have advised to go one size up with Keep Trooping (previously known as Imperial boots). You will find some links in this thread in regard to sizing which help.2 points

I didn’t forget about this. I was on vacation and now I am currently on the road for work so I haven’t been home to do anything. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk2 points

Hi! Pleasure to be here! I've been wanting to build a few different armor costumes over the years, but something always got in the way. Last summer I decided to make it a priority and this spring I finally hit on some serious inspiration after watching Ahsoka. Am in process of making my first R1 Tie Pilot costume and hoping to have it approved as well. This and the R1 Storm Trooper I'm planning for after will be styled for Grand Admiral Thrawn's 7th Legion remnant aboard the Chimera. I am just in awe of those designs. I'm not a member of my local Garrison yet though I have applied. Looking forward to learning everything I can and discussing ideas and build strategies with others.1 point

I started posting these on the FISD Discord server and thought I might share them here on the forum as well. Discord makes sharing images really easy since you don't need to host them, but I can just throw these on imgur about as easy. But I digress. Lesson 1: a phrase most are likely familiar with. L, O, and N are very easy in Aurebesh, since they're so similar to English. L and N are backwards and O is a round triangle. G is laying on it's side. V is a Y in Aurebesh.1 point

Cool and fun lessons. Learn Auerbesh for the Empire! I'm not fluent but can figure out most words after a bit of thought. Where are you finding the Auerbesh font? Ideally I'd love to install it on my Google Pixel.1 point

Agree with the others. Better to order a little big than to end up with something too small. You may have seen this before, but here's the sizing discussion on the Keep Trooping website: https://keeptrooping.com/sizing-2/1 point

I'm with Glen on this one. I bought boots from IB before they became Keep Trooping and I bought the correct size for my feet and they were too tight, so I ended up replacing them. I would get one size up, and add a good insole.1 point

@dcx13 I finally got dimensions for the Husky 5 spoke wheel from a friend and I drew up a new version of the wheel cover. He did a test print and confirmed the wheel cover fits Husky's new 5 spoke wheels. This was designed to work with the Imperial Cog from the original 6 spoke version. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:66612831 point

I have both fiberglass and plastic, I do find the fiberglass a little heavy at times but I do have neck issues. One big problem with the fiberglass helmets was cracking around the neck, for transport they bolted down the helmet to the polystyrene foam with a cross of wood, this put some pressure on the neck and could cause cracks in transport with any movement, many finding this when opening their boxes. You can also crack just by holding around the neck area for too long as they are a little thin there, this was common for the earlier pre production helmets. It's advisable to add fans just to clear your lens, it can get pretty sweaty in there. Should be no issues getting the helmet approved. One thing to take in account is Jim's kit will need painting so you will have to try to find a paint which closely matches the color of the helmet. Many opted for automotive paint and this code was a close match. I was lucky, a local automotive paint supplier had a base white in spray can which was acrylic, quick drying and could be sanded and polished if needed, that matched the helmet nicely. Another paint some used was Rust-Oleum 2X Painter's Touch Gloss White a cheaper alternative to automotive paint.1 point

While making those changes you may want to do a little work on the endcap and D ring, appears to be 3D printed with not prep work, sanding or paint, can see ridges on the curved areas and print lines on the back and D ring mount. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): 3D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance.1 point

Awesome thank you so much! I figured a Pilot was a good place to start for me to learn kit building and modding, since it's a smaller kit. Also because I have sewing skills I might be able to use on some of the soft peices. Also, being a short, small female, it felt more natural as my first set than a Storm Trooper. Much as I do have Trooper Goals. ?1 point

My long awaited neck seal has arrived and I will be taking my approval pictures for my local garrison tomorrow then moving on to the next steps here!1 point

A full phrase this time. It goes with the screenshot... It's pretty simple... Good luck!1 point

As far as I know the Baptys were used for filming in Tunisia with the Sandtroopers and therefore are not the perfect fit for us Stormtroopers.1 point

Meme fans will know this one right off. Use the meme Anakin! This one gives our first W I believe. It's the square shaped letter next to the H. Third word.1 point

Okay, that's a huge point in Garmin's favor. I've been on the fence for which smartwatch to get... I'm a big G-shock fan. anyways, today's stuff! This one is both super easy and also has a little substance. E is the star of the show today, along with MY PERSONAL BLASTER. Yeah, it's the CRL blaster and I'm very proud. If you know the company that makes this blaster, you can easily read the logo lettering. It shows the B and H. B is super close to the English version and H just has the side pipes pointed the wrong way. We got the I as a 1 again. And the down-right-arrow S a few times.1 point

Another phrase that should be familiar, as we see it fairly often in Legion. We also see "FISD" in Aurebesh somewhat often. The bottom word is only one letter off. T is upside down in Aurebesh. It's a down arrow basically. I is a 1. S is used often. It's an arrow pointing down to the right. F is upside down and slightly stylized. --------- More tomorrow.1 point
