  1. I'm back Well, it's been a while, but here's the last few things I have to do. That is an excellent point. A few things are a bit off on this helmet and I got a list with things that I'll either re-do or fix when I build a new helmet in the future. For now this is the best ear-fit I can get based on the shape of the back-and-cap, so I'll leave it as-is for now. As long as I don't have an ESB E-11 I won't have to worry about higher levels after all, and I'm sure it won't be an issue for basic Holster Well, although Caleb already brought up the wonderful idea of simply switching the straps, a wonderful friend and fellow Trooper (TK-70815) took it upon him to craft me an entirely new holster as a gift. Due to... reasons... I decided to stick with my old belt for basic approval (not acceptable for higher levels!!!), so I simply took out my ANH holster and added the ESB one. Looks and fits nicely. Gloves and Handguards Despite some really excellent reasons as for why I should sew the handguards onto my gloves, I decided to go with rubber gloves and an elastic strap for now. I'll probably change this in the future, but as of now both versions are acceptable for higher levels, so this is easier at the moment. I bought the gloves online (heavy duty chemical gloves), removed the print with acetone and went over it with a black permanent marker to fully hide the lettering. It turned out really well and as I repeated the process with another pair of gloves as well, I now always have a spare in case my gloves (ANH or ESB) rip. For the third time. Yay. Trimming the handguards was a matter of a few minutes, simply removing all extra material and return edge, before cutting it to size, as they were a bit too large for my hands. Then I glued an elastic strap from one end to the other, so I got a tight hold. I'm currently considering gluing some velcro into the handguards and on to the gloves, so there's even less of an opportunity for the handguards to slip, but this already holds very well. Next Up My next step will have to be taking approval photos. For that I will need to repair one or two things on my armor and I'll need to find the time and space to actually take pictures. I'll keep you updated on that. Thanks for reading!

  2. Seventy thousand dollars for armor that isn't even close to Centurion level and a modified Hasbro blaster seen for a few minutes on a TV show. Good God. Someone went into this knowing exactly what they were going to do afterward. "How to become a Stormtrooper for Fun and Profit"

  3. What makes me furious more than anything is so many people that signed up were turned down. Some just wanted the opportunity to be apart of something great. The 501st is a NON PROFIT organization. The members of this organization that were given this opportunity should be grateful, in addition they're paid $500 a day. As much as this bothers me I also realize a lot of people are struggling financially these days. Maybe, just maybe, it was for a good reason.

  4. Some additional info and versions of the space pack Different versions of the space pack exist, there was a poll in 2010 in regards to the earlier design and what versions it would be added too. CRL had been updated a few times to now have the @crookknights Hot Toys pack version. Poll which packs which CRL's 2010 Figure 1 Legacy Collection Movie Hand plates on wrong hands, if he was the only space trooper then it's canon First approved movie pack member John Danter Figure two John's updated pack. 5. Thanks for this Sly. After your reply went and did a bit of checking, definitely something to consider. At this stage considering everything the Jimmy kit seems to still be the front runner, the sharper details is probably worth the additional effort for me at this stage. As soon as I have heard back from 850 though will pull the trigger.

  7. Yes I'm aware, I purchased a set of spacepack files from Crookknight before he sold everything Nice work on the internals, I may add some lights and sound to mine, once I get to it again, it's on the never ending list. Ox Props also does a space pack from ANH and also a Rogue One version. His to me looks to be spaced a little better, width as well as height of the cylinders. ANH Rogue One

  8. Just a quick FYI.. Shawn (CrookKnight) sold all his files and designs for HWT, Sandie, Space packs etc. to Dave at AM a few years ago. Dave is now making all of them. The outside design is pretty straightforward, but the insert tube is open to interpretation. Since no one will ever see it you can take some "artistic license" and have a bit of fun. I used all kinds of odd bits and bobs in mine:

  11. Seriously incredible armor, build, and photo set. To say "Easy approval" is a huge understatement.

  12. Hi Chris, Wow! Awesome looking armor sir!. Well done I don't see anything that can stop your basic approval and even the EIB certification . What I saw for L3 , just a detail : CRL L3: Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Very easy fix for you. just a dab of E6000 and you're ready. References

  13. Mario, thank you so much for the info! Your thread has already been so much of a help for me during my build. I have another question for you if you don’t mind. I am working on trimming the back and yoke pieces and I am preparing them to be combined into one. Based on your pictures it looks like you may have done this, but did you have to trim the portions of the back piece that rest on your shoulders to be more narrow? When I put my yoke and back pieces together it seems that the parts that jut out of the back are too wide to allow for solid contact for gluing without lots of pressure from clamps and magnets. Please see the pictures for a visualization of what part I am referencing. I’d appreciate any advice you can give me. Thank you in advance!

  14. In my case ,I bought the fabric gaskets , they came separate but at the end it has been more confortable to attach then to the Shoulders/chest . just took off the velcro and sewed it .

  15. But more importantly, I think I'm ready for pre-approval. Now it's not 100% where I want it for Centurion, but I'll continue to work on areas of improvement.

  16. Hi Zaan , welcome to FISD. Wow!, even though Phasma looks hard to build , it's not imposible and here you will find useful info and help every step on the way. 17. Yes I had a "what tha" moment when I saw the end price. "What's it worth" well pretty much what ever someone is prepared to pay, you just need to find the right buyer, amazing it sold for so much more than the other kits. It's good to at least see the wording mentioned that it was a 501st members and not one of the specific production armor sets. It would be interesting to hear Disney's take on this, legion members aren't able to make any profit on merchandise after all.

  18. Hello Everyone I am so excited to have found the forum thanks to the Swedish Garrison, as I have been wanting to be part of a community that gives back as well as participate in a hobby we love. Brand new at the building of costumes and ideally would love to create a Captain Phasma. Any and all advice will be welcomed with open arms, I had a read through some of the threads but not sure of the most up to date info and suppliers specifically for Phasma. Looking forward to being part of the community.
