  4. Hello, I am 40 years old and live in Wiesbaden (Germany). Now its the time, that I can fulfill my long awaited dream of a stormtrooper armor and joining the 501st. I have read a lot in the past weeks and i want to buy a Stunt Armor Kit from RS. I think, it suits best with my height of 172cm and a small belly :-D Before Corona, i have started to build an Imperial Guard, with 3D printed helmet and self-sewn cape. But i don't had the time to finish it and so i want to build a stormtrooper armor first.

  5. Definitely worth parting with your money on a vetted seller. im incredibly thankful I was directed to this website from research before purchasing. I’d probably have ended up with a rubies, eBay, or jedirobe kit otherwise……and either have a terrible kit or have no kit and no money.

  6. Building the kit yourself will save you a LOT of money, Dimitri, and those extra funds can be used to purchase all the things you will need. I have a list here that will help, but you may be able to check with the German Garrison site to see if there are suppliers there as well.

  7. This doesn't really fit under forum help & support so it's being moved to Assembly, Mods, and Painting You have to be careful purchasing ABS sheets from anyone other than the original supplier as there can be some large differences in color, I would suggest speaking with the armor supplier to see if they can help, other than that I would suggest to reach out to your local garrison to see if anyone has offcuts or try a plastic supplier near you. 8. Thanks, I can tell the difference between Jim Tripon's armor and the 850armourworks, its like light and day. I think in conclusion ill go with Jim Tripon as his helmet and armor look the most accurate and I feel like it would be a good learning experience for me to do some hands on DIY, and the price hits the spot perfectly. Appreciate all the support, when I get the helmet expect me to flood this forum with questions on what to do with it haha.

  12. Hi team. I’m in! There are a few things I want to take care of to make it better. I’m adding white felt to the back of the belt boxes so they don’t rub off the paint on my right thigh. Same with the insides of my shoulder bells on my biceps. I also want to get a better spat set up. Also currently working on the heavy F11D, pistol and shield.

  15. I have RS PVC but bought in 2012. They seemed to switch to a more rigid PVC since. I ordered replacement parts and the white color didn't match up as it should have and it seemed a bit more rigid to cut. The original PVC kit I have was very thin but also very flexible. Only cracked at the neck so far where I had too much of a return edge . I had it stored on a hanger and the stress on that area caused the crack. My fault for not providing proper storage. The PVC is certainly brighter than the ABS so I think if you want something with that stands out, go with the PVC. If you are the type of person who wants to go all screen accurate , certainly ABS. I think they both are prone to crack one way or another . You will be using it for trooping and there is always a risk of some wear and tear. I went through the same confusion about what to buy. Either one will be great. Repairs, from what I have read and heard are easier with ABS. I have been carerful with my armor at the few troops I went on so far and it has held up well. Hope that helps.

  16. The original armour is not bright white and is the same colour as the ABS RS uses. PVC forms the same as ABS so the sharpness is the same but the PVC is more rigid in comparison. If you want screen accuracy with the metal brackets, go for ABS. If you want an idealised bright white trooper, go for PVC and use snaps and elastics because the PVC is too rigid for the brackets (in my opinion).
