  1. Look at the crates compared to the people carrying them. Specifically the width of one square segment vs the guy's thigh side profile. That gives a rough, yet close estimate of the total crate size. Both imperials are of medium build. So... 8 to 9" for a thigh side profile? That would give about 9" per square with about 1" spacing and 2" between the two linked cubes. Total of perhaps 42" long, 20" deep, and 20" tall? 10% margin of error? I'd bet those measurements would create a prop that's near the right size and with the right paint and weathering would be instantly recognizable.

  2. Hi everyone, my name is Jim and I'm from Royal Leamington Spa in England! Nobody uses the Royal bit apart from visiting comedians to take the mick and it's really not as posh as it sounds! I started this journey way back in 2019 when the world was a very different place, I bought my kit from RWA along with an E11 kit from Doopy-Doos and began building. The only problem is I have as much proficiency in building things as I do making the Kessel run in 12 parsecs! I started with the E11 and after many mistakes and extra things bought to rectify my weenie-ups I finally finished it and thought, there's no way I'm going to completely ruin my armour by actually attempting to make it! The world then changed and everyone went quiet and my kit stayed in a BBB under the stairs gathering dust. In 2022 I decided enough was enough, (well, my wife did and said I either needed to build it or sell it!), so I decided to seek out somebody to build it for me, they did an amazing job and I only had to make a few adjustments and alterations to get it completely ready for me to troop in. So I am now an official Stormtrooper and it feels amazing! I can't wait to get out there and be part of something that brings so much joy and meet everybody. Happy Easter everyone!

  3. Thanks, Caleb, I appreciate the shout-out. Glad you like the meme! (And as if there was any way I was gonna skip over this thread when making memes about the FISD.)

  4. Well in this case I nominate Tony's @ukswrath EPIC Anovos build thread for memeification. Nearly three quarters of a MILLION views and over 1K comments.

  6. Ok, so I couldn't help but repost Luca's @Morgi recent mention of this post in his fantastic FISD meme thread. I'm glad that this compilation has been helpful enough to builders to garner mention in a meme. =) Keep up the great meme work, Luca!

  8. Hi Ben, and thank you for your Centurion application! CRL and CENTURION Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of CENTURION. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. -We have seen that you have pencil marks, especially on the TD, but there are also some on the armor. We recommend you to check everything and remove all those marks... Nothing more to add. Outstanding job, Ben. Congratulations on reaching the rank of Centurion!

  16. after the internal backers were in, I had to thin down the shim material to better match the part edge. so I taped it face first to a small board and sanded it with my palm sander. (Difficult photo!) I then formed a return edge with a heat gun and hot iron, before using a cold solid metal block to do the final bend. (not pictured) the iron is good for playing with bending and not cooling it off to fast, but the cold metal helped lock in it. its hard to document some of this with only 2 hands! then I used solvent glue spread all over (like I did for the backers) to bond the shim to the backer. clamps are you friends, but make sure they are not squeezing to much, and that no glue is under them! they make nice dents when the glue softens the plastic if they are to strong... I have much to learn about ABS slurry application... sanded down the first try and filled in the remaining seam with more. this time using a small syringe (not pictured, but maybe next time I'll get a shot)

  17. I don't currently have a strap from teh Bicep to the Shoulder but I am going to put one on because I have one bicep that likes to come loose and rotate. I have the ABS hooks that the elastic hangs onto as it goes across the opening of the bicep but depending on how I move it can jump the track so to speak and then it moves around and gets wonky.
