Thanks guys... I miss trooping, trying to figure out ways to do things. Doc has me on new medication so hopefully it helps with movement etc.

EXCELLENT idea on waiting until you get the chest and back complete and fitted. That way you will have a better idea on where to place the bells. I assume you mean the white elastic that connects the chest and back, correct? If so, doubling this for added strength is certainly can't hurt. As for adding a strip of nylon webbing, I don't think it will be necessary. BUT, if you do, make sure the posts on the snaps will be long enough to go through all the layers and still have enough for them to connect securely to the bases- you might want to do a test piece. Keep those photos rolling in!

Mine are simply doubled over, have lasted 8 years so far, without the need to reinforce with anything. Mind you I am thinking of re strapping my whole kit as the elastic looks a bit tired in areas, and some of it is loosing the elasticity and stretching.

Hi Cory, You have done a really really great effort with this "painting job" and I think you're almost in the right point. As you can see bellow, I marked with yellow arrows the buttons with a great finish. If you can achieve something similar with the remaining ones you will be ready brother. I'm not the paint expert but some tip I have seen here and by browsing the web is to sand a bit the bumpy surface with a 600 grit then 1000 or 1200 grit. May be you can make a test with one button first little by little to avoid removing the paint . Keep it up Trooper !

Today, I have trimmed the left forearm & bicep, cut the cover strips for both arms, and began gluing these on.

So sorry to hear Angie, hope you get to troop soon, I've had a bad run myself and getting out there and making people smile can take your mind of things for a time. Thoughts and best wishes for you.

I am sorry to hear Angie, but i really hope you can get out and troop. Sometimes it's those little things that make such a huge difference to our lives and those we touch through what we do. Keep us posted on you, and your troops, we will always be hear for you.

Miss you guys.. things have been tough for me lately.. I was diagnosed in Jan 2020 with Young Onset Parkinson's so I have a new challenge in my life. I hope to get out trooping once Covid is more manageable, but things have been tough in Canada lately. Keep well all!!
