  1. The simple times, before the FISD, before the obsessive need to know all the differences in armor

  2. Might be the angle, so this might not be fully accurate, but here's what I'd go for: Otherwise, I'd go with what Fishgoh0onk already pointed out. Good job on the Hovi Mic tips, BTW!

  3. So, after quite a few evenings spent reading various threads on here, I ordered a kit from RS Propmasters. It only took around 10 days to arrive, despite the horrendous problems we are having with supply lines and shipping at the moment. However, when the BBB arrived last weekend, it looked like it had been thrown out of the back of the plane onto the tarmac. So I took several photos, more than I will post here, then unpacked everything, thankfully no damage was found on the armour :-)

  4. I met some of my local garrison members (Outpost42) at an event 3 or 4 years ago, and ever since, I wanted to build and wear an ANH TK. Well, Covid restrictions led to me spending nearly all of my spare time at home, so I have been lurking on here for a few weeks, researching, which led to me ordering a kit from RS, which arrived last weekend--quicker than I expected, given the current supply shortages & shipping issues we are experiencing :-) Now, to start a build thread, then the work begins...

  5. Could use some more clean up, I have roughly 1mm of white between the gray and the actual gum. Don't be afraid to remove too much, you can always add more. Seems like a good height. Do you like the brow height? I know some people for accuracy would go higher, but I personally like an agrier trooper so I like it lower. But I think if you're within range of acceptable, millimeters are just preference. Side note, I'd clean up the eye sockets a bit, remove some of the edging that makes it seem like your carved out the eye hole.

  6. I think the curves are fine, how do they look when worn? If the curve isn't noticable when you're hand is in it, I personally wouldn't worry about it

  7. Hi Joseph, I was on the fence line as to how I would trim the armour and what to do about the returns. Your post was extremely helpful, thank you very much. With the returns gone the additional benefit is the 2 drop plates on my belt sit flatter due to the thighs coming in about 10mm which was the return edge depth roughly. We are doing Oz Comic Con next Saturday [11/12th Dec]], I will put up some photos from this event showing the altered thigh heights, etc. Have also passed on your post to another TK in our group who needs to make quite a few changes to his kit. Cheers.

  8. Yupppp, so the other person he enlisted to help get things back on track is me haha I set out (with a huge assist by @MaskedVengeance) to gather info for potential legal action and found a brother in need instead. Frankly, life hasn't been kind to Daniel lately and he's in quite a deep hole, but he's coming out of it, has no intention of ripping people off, and wants to make good as best he can. I'm somewhat local to him and a project manager by trade, so I volunteered to help handle business/order management and communication/updates so he can just focus on production. I'm still optimistic and hoping he can dig his way out but hopefully my assistance in eliminating any known roadblocks or excuses will eventually benefit the community. No way I'm gonna let him leave everyone hanging but I'd rather seek positive outcomes if I can. Expect email updates soon if you've reached out to myself or Caleb and we'll be hopefully working our way through most of the backlog by end of Q1 and implementing better business practices moving forward so this doesn't happen again. Consistent updates are coming soon and I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding in the meantime.

  9. This forum has as many (if not more) registered users than the 501st and RL membership combined. Let that sink in for a second.

  10. Great work, a few things to address. Rotate (shorten clips) the TD so the O can be seen. Raise belt a touch so the belt is just under or touching the last ab button The top of the ABS belt shall sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical ab button panels. A slight overlap is suggested, but not required. Drop boxes align to end of plastic belt. Also tighten strapping between ab and kidney, a slight gap there: OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Also corners of the plastic belt should touch the fabric belt Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Butt plate is overlapping the kidney, adding V tabs may help Handplates appear to be curled, are they attached properly to the gloves? You may be able to shorten the gap between the shoulder bells and shoulder straps A little hard to see your blaster, just make sure there is no weathering on the grip or T tracks as they were black plastic Vocoder looks a little narrow, top middle Should be no paint on gums, remove excess Paint white rim on mic tips (hovi's) Belt is on an angle. You may also be able to reduce the gap around the base of your helmet by modding your padding inside the helmet. Your neck seal is sticking out on the right side back Could add abs paste to the gaps between the thighs on lower ridges Just a few tweaks, also having a mirror handy is great to check for gaps and alignments. Good luck with EIB, looking forward to seeing your application soon.
