  1. Both will work, but be careful, all of those "compounds" and "polishes" are abrasives (think tiny liquid sandpaper), so they take a little (or a lot, depending on the strength) of material away when used. They are taking the top layer (or more) off. Headlight polishing is very similar to the Novus stuff, where it basically takes off the top layer of oxidation. The Novus stuff is nicer though, in that it comes in a few different strengths. If you're just looking to clean up and make it shine, like Sly said, a car polish/protector would be better (like a wax or sealant) and if you want to get fancy, a graphene ceramic coating!
  2. Thanks! Thanks! I was just trying to utilize parts from the logo/costume as design elements!
  3. LOL! Well, there is no "O" roman numeral, so that's a plus, right? LOL!
  4. This may be a little too abstract for most people (I know a lot of people usually want to see pics of helmets, characters, weapons and whatnot), but I liked how it turned out, so I figured I'd at least sub it. The first side takes some elements and colors from the FISD logo(s) as well as the back plate of the TK's. The second side has all the info. All using the colors and typefaces from the OP.
  5. I concur with the building your own, for a couple reasons! I built my own (Anovos) and had no idea what I was doing, but with the help of the threads here and a couple friends, I built an awesome kit! 1) You're going to want the kit to fit you pretty well, and no matter what dimensions you send them, the possibility of not fitting correctly is there. I bought an already done kit for my first suit and while the guy who sold it to me and I seemed about the same size, we were not the same in a lot of areas and rather than try to take it apart and re-fit it, I just bought a second kit unassembled and it was what I should have done from the beginning. 2) It's intimidating, but really not that hard. The hardest part, and where I needed some help was sizing my thighs (since I needed a second person to help me), but other than that, most everything else went pretty smoothly, making sure I followed other builds here on the forum! It really is an awesome accomplishment to put on a kit you built yourself!
  6. That's the thing, so many people *want* to throw money at them for their stuff, and they can't be bothered to communicate what's actually going on... That's always been my biggest issue with any of the vendors I have used, is the lack of good communication... If they say I will be waiting 6 months to a year when I order, then I know that up front and can plan accordingly. If you tell me 4-6 weeks and it turns into 6 months to a year, I will be pissed, cause I assumed you could fill your order in the 4-6 week time period... I know it's "normal" in the costuming world, but it shouldn't be! The first shop/business that actually communicates well, has a good product and delivers on time will make a ton of money! LOL!
  7. This is what I was thinking as well. The one that made it on screen is nice, but all those other designs look cool as hell...
  8. Yeah, if they avoided stores, then they wouldn't have seen them! LOL! And Dok Ondar's is an attraction as much as a store, IMO... There's so much to take in there! Easy to miss stuff while you're looking at all the decorations or Dok Ondar himself!
  9. That's weird, cause I was there a few weeks ago and they had a TON of them in Dok Ondars!
  10. Yeah, if it's going to break anyway, might as well do some experimenting! Sucks that it's already breaking, but it might lead to something better!
  11. Sure! the acrylic they use are 2 pieces (the etched part is on the inside, which makes it smooth on the outside, and probably catches the light better)... I tried taking mine apart, but the main electronics board was glued to the acrylic and I didn't want to break it!
  12. I think this ^^ I know they aren't 100%, cause if you look at the chest piece, it's a 1 piece chest... The strapping does look similar to the webbing strapping on their kits though... I bet they designed the parks one's in a way that was more beefier and easier for multiple sized people wearing them... So while they are similar, they are "technically" different...
  13. LOL! I am actually not sure which version I have, since I got it second hand and I am not sure how long he had it before I got it... It's definitely earlier than 2017, cause that's when I bought it, but it sounded like he had it for a while as well, cause he *started* to work on it and put it back in the box... But I do consider myself lucky, based on some of the horror stories I have heard!
  14. I've worn my Anovos to at least a dozen times and haven't had any issues other than some minor scuffs that clean off pretty easily... I am usually pretty easy on my costumes in general though, so maybe that has something to do with it... I know Anovos gets a bad wrap (which it should, in most cases), but mine's actually held up pretty well since putting it together!
  15. Indeed! And I am okay recreating a few things, but having the font just makes it a bunch less time consuming! Just like the Aurebesh font, I'm sure it'll eventually get re-made by someone (and heck, the land hasn't even been open a month at this point!), so I can wait... I guess...
  16. This stuff looks great! Love the soda/Thermal Detonator tub! I've been designing a few things *inspired* by Galaxy's Edge as well, cause after being there, it's just full of cool design choices!! I know they created the font they used specifically for Batuu, but man, I hope either they end up making it available or at least if we can find all the letters/numbers through menus/cards/pics to make our own, cause I WANT to use that font!
  17. If you want to try! I took mine apart, but only as far as the outer shell, since the main board seems glued to the acrylic and I didn't want to break anything... If you are braver than I, and want to try to go further, go for it! LOL! And good luck!
  18. I don't have the capabilities to myself, but if I could find someone that could do the printing/etching part (and figure out how to replace the plastic without breaking the electronics board), I'd be totally up for it...
  19. The Antiquities shop (Dok-Ondar's), where the Kyber Crystals and sabers and such were... There was a whole bunch of them on the wall if you go left when you walk in, across from the Crystals... Yep! I am also a huge Disney nerd... Same here! LOL!
  20. Yep. That's our Mountain Garrison logo, in just a 1-color design.
  21. LOL! This was what I came up with for me. The pink is the plastic holder part and border, the rest would be etched...
  22. True, but there's got to be a way to "customize" it... Someone braver than I just has to see how it fully comes apart! I already worked up a "re-imagined" design to replace it, if I can figure it all out...
  23. So, I tried taking mine apart and it's 2 acrylic pieces, and the artwork/info is etched on the inside of one piece and basically sandwiched in there. It looks to be etched, but I am not 100% sure... I *think* it's etched, but I can't take the whole thing apart without breaking it, so I can't tell for sure... That's what I was wanting to do, but they glued the electronic board to the housing and/or the acrylic piece... I am sure it can be taken apart, but I really don't want to break it! Yep, they all have the same number (just mass-produced)... They had a BUNCH of them at the Dok-Ondar's when I was there...
  24. When I was at GE on Tuesday, I picked up a TK ID card they had that glows (and has a retractable cord)! And, I don't see any active member with the TK-1901, but if you're new and want to choose it, you'll have a "custom" ID card! Now, I need to see if I can change the number without ruining it... LOL!
