  1. It didn't look like anybody ever answered this question regarding the "fall" of the tube stripes, so here it is. The "fall" actually refers to the lean/sweep of individual stripes, not the distance of the stripes from the cheek crease above. Screen-used stripes had a forward slant at the top, which the photos below illustrate. I've also added a link to Dan's thread below, which has these same illustrations. For your particular situation, since your stripes are symmetrical, with no lean/fall, so there's no need for you to take the fall into consideration. And all the stripes should be equidistant (a pencil's width) from the side of the cheek, as opposed to angling further away as you originally interpreted the fall. No worries though, wording can often be confusing, and you're doing a great job on your build! Keep it up!

  2. Is it worth linking this thread via FB? I hate to admit it, but, I feel most people use socials more regularly than the forum. A little note with a link on the FB group might stir up some more entries. :-)

  6. Thanks so much for the clarification. I was still a little lost on the meaning of the "fall of the tube stripes" considering the decals that came with Dave's AM kit are symmetrical. There's been at least a couple of times that the wording of the CRLs has tripped me up, and I don't think I'm the only one. I also recall "Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. A total of 8 cut outs in the teeth area of the frown are present." confused me, as I thought "does not leave the teeth area" referred to the 8 holes being cut out and not that the paint shouldn't extend beyond the teeth. Anyway, I may attempt to use masking tape to lift and readjust my tube stripes so I don't have to move them one at a time, or order more. For now I've moved on from the helmet to armor assembly and strapping. I glued up my last 2 cover strips last night. Things are hopefully about to start coming together.

  7. Ok, now I see it. I think it is more like a rubber sheath or something where the gaz wires get through and which allow him to hold it there (which still would be a bad idea with the gun part over it :p )

  9. Anovos are no longer supplying Star Wars costumes due to the license being taken away by Disney. Non supply of orders from over 4 years ago. You will find that many of the black series helmets will not meet 501st legion costume approval, check out the CRL's for costume requirements https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL You can find the vetted sellers list here

  10. I was recently told what the 501st was all about, that it was more than a bunch of fellow fans dressing in costume and going to comic-con's. I learned that it is also a group that gets involved with a lot of charities. I myself growing up had a little sister that was terminally ill and we were blessed by a lot of different charity organizations. I would love to be a part of the 501st even it was solely on the basis of charity. I just want to know where I can go to buy 501st approved Trilogy Stormtrooper gear. So that then I may be eligible to apply for membership into the 501st Legion.

  11. Have a read of the Getting Started section, there is some research required with this hobby. Legion has a base requirement for costume approval (CRL's), for Stormtroopers you can find them here Also some more information on becoming a member is here. Good luck and hope to see a build thread from you soon.

  12. Thanks for the reply ukswrath. If that's what that patch was for that's pretty pathetic. It's not even placed correctly . Needless to say I didn't bother putting it back on. While I got you I just wanted to say thanks for your build thread and instructions all those years ago now. When I first got the kit I was glued to your build trying to plan out every step of mine. So thank you for that!!!! Just taking me forever to get it done.

  14. Don't worry Richard, It doesn't need to be perfect, at the end, when making the adjustment with your boots, you will probably need to trim that section a bit. Reference Image

  15. You could print some Rogue One TK armour, paint it up, and be the model for the live action version CRL. Honestly, I have no idea where things are at with the live action CRL - all I know is that it looked awesome in the Mandalorian. EDIT: I actually read the rest of the posts - I see you are getting armour from Jim. Nice! Disregard the printing part then.

  16. Nice work Note: The cloth hole patch was one of the reasons the FISD went with belt replacement for the higher levels of accuracy. "The Anovos belt has a velcro loop pad on the left inside area near the holster. What is it for??" To give the belt rigidity in the area. It didn't help .
