Hey everyone! My name is Lucas. I am currently still serving in the USAF and a commander out at Eglin AFB in Florida. Obviously, I have a love for Star Wars especially the original trilogy (specifically ESB). On top of all that, my oldest brother had a disability from birth requiring many surgeries and extended overnight hospital stays in children's hospitals. When I was younger, I remember going to visit him and seeing the faces of the patients (including my brother) when people and characters took time to visit them. Seeing the mission of the FISD and my love for Star Wars there was no way I couldn't do what it takes to join and give my time to share hope and joy with others. My TK ID is the date my older passed away and his first and middle initial just happen to be TK... So it is a perfect way to honor him. Being in the military, we have been moving a lot and with deployments and demanding work days, I am finally at my last tour and look forward to settling down. I have contacted the local GML and have been approved and assigned a 501st TK ID#. See profile here: https://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=33092&costumeID=126 Thanks for reading... Yes only on the left. The bottom one should be a little lower Rough measurements, don't worry it they are different to your armor, as close as possible is fine On the right there is a snap in the upper corner of the ab plate2 points

It's grown on me significantly. I like it up there now, good call... don't take it away again2 points

I keep trying to get going on it and work is now interrupting me hahahaha. Helmet, Blaster and Gaskets are done. But thank god for going back to work. hahaha2 points

Can'tstopwon'tstop. I'm technically immune compromised after cancer treatment this year so being on quarantine has sucked. Working on armor keeps me busy and honestly these silly awards give me an extra little sense of accomplishment. Maybe it'll help motivate some other people too. I mean, if I can do it 4 times with the same base armor... And my ROTK thread is up so not it's not a secret, but hopefully I'll be wrapping that up and you'll be seeing it soon! (#5?! We'll see if @equuspolo finishes his FOTK before me tho hahaha) I also picked up a STEAL on eBay that might also be of interest... Only $$$ but not enthusiasm holding me back from the rest! *spoilers* haha Thanks again Q! I know you love my TD Thanks so much Mario!2 points

FYI a lot of people add mobility cuts to the back of the thigs and shins, but it really depends on your height, if you are too talk they can look silly and show a big black gap at the rear, some add these cuts before trying on the armor, I only advise them for shorter troopers, definitely wait until you are completely suited up and then check your movement, there is some restriction in armor and even at 6' I can't fully bend my knees, makes walking up stairs comical, crap walk Mobility cuts gallery is here1 point

yea its just a rough finish.and believe me when i was fitting it i felt that stab in back of leg.i was planning on doing abs paste because i cant stand the little gaps.1 point
-
A very nice boot and comfy on long troops. Nice work, you may want to remove the top end as it is sticking out a bit and may stab you while walking. If you wanted you could add some ABS paste in the gap in the bottom ridge but it's fine as is for basic approval.1 point

Hi KC Could you please add a close photo of : 1-your helmet's Frown? jus to be sure that you have the correct shape and it's just a light effect. 2- Close photo of your thigh ammo pack inside, both sides, to check the rivets type. Thank you Trooper !!1 point

Yea I'd stay away from hot glue and go E6000 - get the temp setting wrong and you can visibly warp your armor. I use a setup similar to the Billhag diagram above and have two different straps I can swap between for ANH or ESB, with the ESB being a couple inches longer to give that trademark ESB look, but still keeping them attached and less likely to rotate. I also do not use or particularly recommend using biceps hooks, as they are not allowed at L3 and not really necessary if your strapping is dialed in.1 point

Hi James. Before one of us can process your EIB app, there are some fixes we need you to address. 1- CRL for Basic level : Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. .. As Glen pointed out above, you'll need to remove a bit of the grey paint from your teeth, as they're leaving out onto the gums area and paint the edges corners. A paint remover (Non Acetone) can be used, in my case I have used a pointed or sharp tool like cutter or knife to do it also) Reference images 2- CRL foe Level 2 : Correct Aerators/Hovi-MIX tips are present. Screens used shall be of a wide type mesh, with the rim of the mic and the inside white or painted white. This is a common issue of the Anovos Helmets. Reference Images Personally what I have done several times to fix this is as follows. A- Remove the mesh from tips . I have used knife, screwdriver and plier. B- look for a strainer with the proper mesh C- Use a permanent marker top and a rubber hammer to give the shape to the mesh. D- Paint the hovi tips inside and rim with white acrylic and cut the mesh with a minimal edge. E- Place the mesh into the tip carefully and reassemble to the helmet. 3- CRL for Basic Level : ... The cover strip edge shall be facing the inside of the leg. Finally , it looks like you right shim cover strip is closing facing outside of the leg. You will need to disassemble and re-glue it to the correct position. This could be a bit challenging and take more time but we are confident you can achieve it . Reference Images We'll be ready when you're ready.1 point

Thank you. I was just looking over the other forums to see what the next steps are to get the Expert Infantry level... But for now I will be patient as I wait for approval here into the FISD and become no longer a member but a 501st Stormtrooper. After that i should be able to access the other forums (denied access until I'm approved here)1 point

I know my TD drives you nuts, Glen We'll see if I can sneak through a couple more times without modifying or replacing it haha The sniper knee is a good catch and I might consider cleaning that up a bit! I appreciate your feedback and keen eye. Thanks! Yeabuddy! Thanks so much! Thank you! Ironically this was the first suit I built and arguably my worst, but it's been through enough iterations and fine tuning that I think it looks good. Shame to retire it, but it's time. Thanks so much Ardeshir! I appreciate your help in making this happen, brother. Ardeshir is a friend and great guy - he's kind of my FISD twin and I'd like to think we push each other to work hard and give back! But yea, I couldn't let him totally show me up ;P Thank you!1 point

Research is the key, measure twice and cut once, if you don't know ask, lots of members are happy to give feedback Following others build threads are a great way to learn, you can't go wrong following Tony's build There is also our gallery section full of references https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/ Don't forget the CRL (costume reference library) https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt And don't forget Caleb's resources thread, plenty of great info there.1 point

Hey Dan, per your advice I did some research on power cylinders while awaiting my GML outcome. I decided a cheap option would be to make my own! I printed out some photos and went to a local electronics store to assemble anything that could resemble a raw component I could then shape and paint. I'm pretty stoked with the results - thanks for your help! Raw components Testing glue on the glue sticks - metal plate from scrap metal Painting Assembling the capacitors Soldering resistors Painting and assembly of cylinders Assembly and painting complete The outcome!1 point

Hi all, thank you for all this answers. I was just interested. It is very intresting how the production methodes have changed. And I am impressed. Because: TheRescalKing: You saw them on set ? You were on set ? That sounds like a dream !!! Are you working for the film industry? And while I am looking around I saw the armor from Jimmiroquai. This was the reason why I asked myself the Material question. Because the way he build it was so unknown. tarok: you are right. 3 D printing could be a interestig method in the future. Equuspolo: Hopefully your friends enjoy to worke for this Films....and hopefully they are now owners of a original screen used armor;) hahaha. For me it is a dream to have a OT armor replica.... I cant imagin how great it is to be a trooper in a movie1 point
