  1. And again just for my own curiosity, Stunt comparisons and I'm not seeing any holster attachments with a 1" gap from plastic belt, the only one I've found to date is Luke's Hero. Lengths of the straps do vary quite a lot from 1" to 2 1/2" And for those of you who spotted the weird looking holster and attachment there is a great thread here all about it https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/33971-possible-alternative-anh-holster/ And although it was believed that only 1 trooper had this holster and belt attachment there was actually 2, easy to spot in this image as the holsters are a lot shorter than a standard E-11 holster

  6. Born in 77' I grew up with Star wars. Was always impressed with the Stormtroopers. Thought they had the coolest armor and loved the E11. Went to Universal Studios in Florida when it opened up and the Starwars attraction had this boy in awe. Theyhad a stormtrooper suit with an E11 on display and I so badly wanted it. Never in my life did I want somthing so much but it was out of reach and not for sale. Now I have a son and his love for Star Wars is a bonding thing for us. He was searching You Tube and showed me videos of poeple making E11 blasters and I had to have one .I bought a Sterling pistol and a parts kit and made the necessary modifications to make it look like the original. Welded on the shroud. Welded a stock on in the closed position. Located a M38 tank scope on ebay along with repair parts for it . Fabricated a mount using instructions from this site. T tracks. Its a dream come true and the ultimate bonding experience with my son. You should have seen him light up. I couldnt have one when I was his age and being able to give him the experience was priceless. ButI have another itch. Armor. I would love to take part in the Legion .Being stuck at home during this covid gave us time for the blaster so figured why stop there. Im located in Kansas so feel free to reach out. Help is appreciated.

  7. The E6000 seems to have cured well... I stuck the opposite side's snaps on. Hopefully no issues while curing too! There was some satin overspray on the exterior of the sides and belt halves, so I wet sanded them to 800. I dried them off and allowed some time to air dry, but I can see a lot of pinholes in the gloss black, possibly ones I didn't fill, but maybe some residual moisture... I'll see how they look when dry, but I'll prepare myself to wet sand to 800 or 1,000 and spray gloss black again in a few days. I also wet sanded the bells and biceps to 400, and wet sanded the overspray on their interiors to 220. I see a few imperfections to fill, but not too bad! Hopefully no pinholes... Tomorrow I'll E6000 snaps into the barrel for the suspenders, spray gloss white on the belt halves, and putty the bells and biceps.

  9. Hey there, Troopers. So, the thighs are now sized up and the shins are nearly complete. I was able to follow the original sizes for the thighs and, as below, took inspiration from the shape and form of an original set of armour. The shins are around 15mm wider circumference around ankle compared with the original RS measurements. I believe this is due to the size of my boots at the top - a little wider than originals, by the seems of it. Original bra hook and elastics method - currently gluing in place. More to come. :-)

  10. Alrighty, got some progress to post. I've been busy trimming and trying to see what pieces go where! Hand plates, pretty straight forward. I still need to drill the holes in the front of these. Kneecaps. Seem a little warped, maybe a little heat can set these back in place? Shoulder Bells and the little piece that goes behind them. Spats, these already seem like they are going to be annoying to put together. Got some alignment issues where I'm sure I didnt trim it down enough, but I'm not entirely sure where to stop. I need some good build examples to follow! Ab and belt boxes. At least I think. Theres a lot of these little boxes on this kit. I know the long rectangular ones are probably for the belt. I'll figure out where these go later. Butt plate. I left the top part there for the belt and ab plate Biceps, got some alignment issues with these. Might have trimmed a little too much on one of them. Cod piece. I realize this is TFA cod and if I want EIB status or higher I'm going to need a TLJ cod. Unfortunately KB Props doesnt make TLJ cod. Not sure where I'm going to find this piece right now, so this will have to do...or maybe I can pick up a TFA bucket to get EIB till I can get the right cod piece for TLJ. I also threw together one of the forearm pieces. I think I trimmed this correctly, at least I hope so... I know a long greeblie is supposed to go in that middle part of it, but I'll wait till the forearm is further along before throwing that on. Forearm is pretty spacious, but I think once I have gaskets and gloves on it shouldn't wobble about. The length is a little bit of an issue, but I think trimming the biceps would be easier than trying to modify this forearm. Still not done trimming, haha.

  11. Welcome aboard, James. A lovely story there showing your love for Star Wars. I’m with you on the bonding side, too - my children are growing up in and around stormtrooper helmets and armour parts and it’s lovely for them to be a part of. Would love to see some pics of your blaster if you wanted to share them. Regarding armour, another that makes armour parts for taller and larger troopers is RWA Creations in the UK. Best wishes Dan

  12. I found a stack in the old merch threads and while perusing started to replace any images of note. as there are 36 pages worth I wasn't going to post every link here so I will just keep repairing what I can. Many we can probably create a folder for in the archive section so they are still viewable, and reduce the number of pages down in the merch section. Also there is a metric tonne of broken links and images in the Ongoing run's section that could be also archived in folders or condensed sub forums. Many of those are well and truly irrelevant, but some quite irreverent information now, and date back to 2006-07 forward.

  13. Hi Mark, you wouldn't happen to have a link to that would you? it was a great day indeed. It was the first live approval done by the detachments, and not only that but a few minutes later, a team of us including Joseph, Tony Jeff myself and a few others, pulled down Paul Hoeffers armour (DL at the time), and made the corrections and additions to make it Centurion level. Tony and I then approved him on the spot. Of course Joseph being a local to Florida, had all the correct bits and pieces plus the tools to get it done. Wow man what a memory and what a day.

  14. I remember as I was getting my kit ready for EIB, I found a video on youtube with @Sly11, and @ukswrath going over an EIB submission. I'm assuming it was during last Celebration in Anaheim. For you guys that are pushing for the last few spots to 1000 EIB, it is a great informative video on what is needed. I highly recommend checking it out.

  22. Amongst all this TFA stuff, I still love watching and scrutinizing this good old Original Trilogy, even more now that I can watch it in its Despecialized Edition . So let us rest our weary minds from TFA the time of this short thread. Most of us have heard at least once of the infamous "Simon's Holster" which has a different profile and is fastened differently onto the belt than the classic ANH holster. This holster is the one fastened onto the belt of the original armor set that belongs to Simon from RS Props. Hence the name "Simon's Holster". Simon's Holster: The same on screen: However, this holster is not unique on screen as I thought it was. Indeed, there is at least one twin of it, possibly two, and both appear during the same scene in ANH. Shortly after Leia, Luke and Han got out of the trash compactor and made their way back to the Millenium Falcon, they notice it is guarded by five stormtroopers. I think you already figured that two of them have this "Alternative holster" I am talking about. Respectively, the second and the fifth from the left: - Let's take a look at the fifth from the left first as it might just be Simon's Holster (and because being the fifth in something, he's certainly more interesting than most ). As I see it, the two fastening straps are overlapping the top of the belt with the straps going on the inside, which when you think about it, is matching the way "Simon's Holster" is fastened. Here's a diagram showing the conversion: Notice the gap between the top of the holster and the bottom of the belt present on "Simon's holster" which then disappears when you loop it around the belt making a perfect match with the Alternative #1 setup. - Now onto the second stormtrooper from the left. This holster seems to overlap the top of the belt too, but with the straps traveling on the outside of the belt. Being on screen in the same scene than the previous alternative holster, we can attest that this one is definitely a second exemplary of this kind of holster. After we can wonder why these holsters are fastened to the belt in a such different way? Maybe it's an attempt of the prop guys to make it stronger so the holster can actually house a real Sterling without getting ripped off after few minutes. Now I know it's only two (possibly three) holsters among thirty others, but I was surprised to see Simon's Holster isn't unique as I believed it and wanted to share it because I did not read anything about it before. I hope you enjoyed the read and found it interesting. Even though when i see how people are already so narrow minded about the number of rivets between the Stunt and Hero holsters, I hope I won't hurt too much feeling by trying to introduce a new holster shape with two different fastening ways! - T5H.
