I'll have an update on this by EOD today. Sorry - it's a church in the morning/Seahawks game in the afternoon kind of day.1 point

A short video (no pun intended) from a children's hospital troop from a few weeks ago to show you other things that short troopers can do... we still can't hit anything with any degree of accuracy, just like the bigger troopers! But we can bounce Death Star-like balls, so at least we've got that going for us, which is nice. (click on the image to get to the video)1 point

I am 6'2" with Anovos and have no issues with chest/ab gap. What you can do it give the back plate a hot water bath at the shoulders to make them a little flatter. Then make your shoulder elastic that connect the chest to back a little longer. It will still be covered by the plastic shoulder straps and should create a little more space for you. Little more progress. I've Plasti Dipped the inside of the helmet And now I have put the first layer of black paint on. I used Testors #85 for the black I did go back and take off the little part that got outside of where I wanted it, I used a Q-tip with a little bit of paint thinner.1 point

* "I hit a bird once"... * (This one is kind of dark, and not a response for kids) "Ask Luke's aunt and uncle about that".1 point

Kill'em with humor...exactly. Stormtroopers not being able to hit anything is popular joke with a lot of Star Wars fans. There are memes galore on the internet about that topic lol. I can see how it can bother someone when they are suited up. Just remember, it's all in fun and don't get too flustered. Some people may be heckling you to be mean and others could just be picking at you in a nice way. Here are some good comebacks! (Have fun with the people picking at you) "Hey Stormtrooper, you can't hit anything!!!" I stared at the Death Star Laser too long Neither can Han Solo...Anymore We don't need to hit anything, we have Darth Vader (good one if Vader is trooping with you) Tell that to the villagers on Jakku. Oh yeah? Alderaan thought that too. Silence Rebel Scum!1 point

I have all manner of stuff velcroed in my bucket and chest plate but the best storage facility I've found is a wife in an Imperial Officer uniform with belt boxes.1 point

I know I've not been busy lately but I've managed to finish my magnetic closure system for the greaves.... it's been a long journey and I've taken them apart more times than I've had hot dinners .... but I've got there in the end..... I think These are the internal magnets on the greaves.... I think I may have used too many magnets as they stick together better than a sticky thing that gets stuck .... and I really have to pull them apart .... And stuck together..... Side on .... It seems to have taken ages... but I'm chuffed with the results ... So I'm on the home straight now.... we'll almost..... Just the thighs to complete, strap the torso and arms together, paint and fit the buttons, fit sniper knee plate and thigh ... I've forgot what it's called.... oh thigh ammo belt... I think.... oh and the main ammo belt I have that to do as well.... so I'm getting there..... Slowly slowly catch the monkey .... as they say..... Hopefully I will get there by Christmas..... which year ...... who knows ..... lol..... I originally thought I would be a TK by summer . ........delusional or what ..... If I could throw in my 2 cents worth on this... I thought about that when building my first set of armor. I also thought about someone's idea where they used a pouch that hung around their neck to hold a wallet, phone, etc. The truth is that I just keep these items in my bin. I have been on countless troops, and never, ever felt uncomfortable about doing this. 99% of the time, the bins are kept in a secure area, and I don't even lock it. We tend to be a very honest, respectful bunch of folks, and I trust my fellow 501st brothers and sisters implicitly. Once in a great while bins are stored in an area where the public may have access (this is very rare), so I just lock it and keep the key on an elastic band around my wrist under my glove. If you want to keep your phone on you at all times (as some do) it should be turned off during a troop, and if it is in your backplate you couldn't get to it anyway. Just food for thought....1 point

Every troop and cause can find a home in the three "c"s of the 501st. Costumes. Charity. Community. Centuri...ok not that. Disney , themself, said the 501st is ok to go for pride events. GLB used to be about sexuality. LGBT became about gender. LGBTQA is still about gender, both for those identifying as LGTBQ, and those who just support their friends', and strangers', rights to identify as whomever they wish. Im in the A camp. Occasionally thats followed by hole. In this regard it means Ally. I feel really dumb for even posting this:. This thread wasnt a discussion about lgtbqa members. It was a call for shout outs to themselves, if they wanted to. OP: BRAVO ZULU for stepping up and out. Enjoy the prides. My garrison marches on the 27th in Ottawa. Ill be there suited up and rainbowed in support.1 point

I guess my aversion to rubber gloves is a call back to spending 8+ hours in full chemical protective gear multiple times during my 22+ years in the Army. If they work for you, awesome! [emoji846] I'd suggest removing the hand guards from the gloves and fix them and put them on a new set.....OR don't fix them at all, after all if you look at the hand guards used in ANH they are all kinds of cracked and peeling. The natural weathering process you have going on is only making everything more screen accurate! [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
